Men’s Open Athletes to Watch

The most high-profile division on the show is Men’s Open. Here are the athletes to keep an eye on.

Nathan De Asha

Nathan De Asha is coming off his 10th career victory at the 2023 Flex Weekend Pro in Milan, Italy. He’s already qualified for the Mr. Olympia contest, but winning this show would add another title, more prize money, and keep another competitor from qualifying for the big contest in Florida this November.

Only show winners qualify for the Olympia at this point in the season, and there aren’t many shows left before the cutoff date of Oct. 9. De Asha can give himself a lot of momentum for the Olympia by winning here.

Regan Grimes

Regan Grimes made his 2023 season debut at the Flex Weekend Pro, where he finished one spot behind De Asha as the runner-up. He’s not yet qualified for the Olympia, so he needs to win this contest. Grimes has won shows in both Classic Physique and Men’s Open in the past, but his last victory came back at the 2021 KO Pro

Roman Fritz

Another competitor that Grimes should be concerned with is Roman Fritz, who is also Olympia-qualified thanks to his win at the 2023 Bigman Weekend Pro. This will be his fifth contest of the season, and he hasn’t finished outside of the top five in any of them. Regardless of how he does here, his Olympia spot is safe. Fritz finished one spot behind Grimes in the Flex Weekend Pro show.

Women’s Bodybuilding Athletes to Watch

This is a packed show for all the women’s divisions. These are the names you need to know from Women’s Bodybuilding.

Chelsea Dion

Chelsea Dion will make her 2023 season debut at this contest. She was last on stage at the 2022 Ms. Olympia, where she placed ninth. The 2021 NPC National championship winner is in her second pro season, and she’s looking to get her second pro win. Her first victory came at the 2022 Tampa Pro.

Lisa Kudrey

Lisa Kudrey is also trying to qualify for the Ms. Olympia for the second straight season. She was out of the top 15 at the 2022 Olympia, and she has already competed twice this season, finishing fourth in the Vancouver Island Showdown Pro and 10th in the Chicago Pro. With over a month between her Chicago Pro appearance and this show, she could make improvements that help her place higher.

Virginia Sanchez

This is Virginia Sanchez’s first appearance of the 2023 season as well. She has Olympia experience, having placed seventh in 2021. Her last onstage appearance was at the 2022 Rising Phoenix World Championships, where she placed seventh. This will be her ninth season in the IFBB Pro League.
