Ever since the Ms. Olympia made its return in 2020, Andrea Shaw has been dominant as its champion. She has won the Rising Phoenix and Ms. Olympia contests for three consecutive years. Following her 2023 Rising Phoenix win, Shaw aimed for the four-peat Olympia win.

Shaw’s quest began at prejudging at the Olympia World Fitness Expo on Nov. 3, 2023. After all 10 contenders were announced and compared in numerical order, the judges got down to business with Olympia owner Jake Wood in attendance to watch. The following callouts were made to determine the order of the group for this round.

Angela Yeo received a nice ovation from the audience. She showcased the best version of her physique to date. Then Shaw came out, and her fans made their presence known. Shaw showed great confidence in her routine. The second callout started due to an issue with Shaw’s outfit. Once that was straightened out, Shaw and Yeo were compared in the center of the main callout, indicating they were in contention for the championship. The final callout featured Shaw versus Yeo.

We can see who is in contention for the title, but the trophy will be presented on the main Olympia stage in the Orange County Convention Center in the evening finals. BarBend will provide updates for all 11 world championship contests taking place in Orlando throughout the weekend.

2023 Olympia Weekend

Earlier in the morning on Nov. 3, 2023, the Fitness division opened the Olympia prejudging. The defending champion, Missy Truscott, was in the final callout alongside Ariel Khadr, Jodi Boam, and Whitney Jones. After that, the 212 Olympia prejudging took the stage and culminated with defending champion Shaun Clarida and Keone Pearson in the final callout.

The Figure division saw its six-time defending champion Cydney Gillon hold a center spot in the first and last callouts. Women’s Physique prejudging boiled down to a rematch between defending champion  Natalia Abraham Coelho and former two-time champion Sarah Villegas in the final callout.

The remaining two divisions left for prejudging on Friday are Wellness and Mr. Olympia. All of the divisions that were prejudged on Friday will have their final on Friday night, except Mr. Olympia, which will close the Olympia on Saturday.
