2023 Strongman Champions League England Results — Shane Flowers Wins on Home Soil

After scoring the victory at the 2023 Strongman Champions League (SCL) Portugal on Aug. 5, 2023, Evans Aryee traveled to Gloucester, UK, to attempt back-to-back SCL wins against 11 of the world’s strongest men on Aug. 12, 2023, at the 2023 SCL England contest.

However, Aryee did not strike gold twice as Shane Flowers won the crown on home soil, scoring 50 of a possible 60 points after the five events on the single-day contest came to a close. The events were a Overhead Press Medley, Deadlift Ladder, Viking Walk, Bag Over Bar, and Atlas Stones.

Overhead Press Medley

The Overhead Press Medley comprised three implements: 150-kilogram log, 140-kilogram axle, and 105-kilogram dumbbell for reps in a 75-second time cap. Athletes were scored by the number of dumbbell reps or by time if no dumbbell reps were scored.

The Deadlift Ladder comprised four lifts ranging from 270 kilograms to 380 kilograms.

Shane Flowers scored one win across five events. He finished in the top three of three other events and never ranked worse than fifth en route to winning the 2023 SCL England competition.
