The 2024 CrossFit Games will be held in the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX, on Aug. 8-11, 2024. The announcement of the host city for the sport’s flagship event came from a series of announcements from CrossFit HQ on Sept. 19, 2023. Per their press release, this will be the first time in the Games’ 18-year history that it will be hosted in Texas.
Per CEO of CrossFit Don Faul, “Fort Worth is a proven, easily accessible destination for high-profile events, and we’re excited to add to the growing number of sports and entertainment options at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena. The 2024 Games will be anchored at the facility, giving our fans, athletes, partners, and the incredibly strong Texas affiliate community new opportunities to have the experience of a lifetime.”

The shift to Fort Worth is expected to provide easier access for fans attending the Games from around the world to watch live in person, thanks to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport — an approximate half-hour drive to Dickies Arena, which features “three standard levels of seating, including additional hospitality and elevated viewing experiences on the four-year-old building’s suite and loge box level.” Depending on seating configuration, “the nearly 30,000-square-foot event floor will provide the luxury of up to an estimated 10,000-plus seats once the field of play is completed.”
CrossFit General Manager of Sport and Education Dave Castro highlighted the potential for growth by moving the Games from Madison, WI, to Fort Worth, TX, allows for.
The move to Fort Worth is the first step for where we want to take the CrossFit Games…not only more cities in the United States, but also consider expansion overseas.
Fort Worth’s Mayor Mattie Parker welcomed CrossFit’s biggest contest of the year, which is expected to bring a significant economic boon to the city. Per the Wisconsin State Journal, the Games stimulated an estimated local impact of $12 million from the influx of 50,000 fans who traveled to watch the week of competition.
Per CrossFit’s press release, “details for the entire 2024 CrossFit Games season, including registration information for the 2024 CrossFit Open, will be announced at a later date.”
