Eric Salazar wins Men’s Open the 2021 Ben Weider Natural Pro/Am!
Natural bodybuilding was on display on Friday night with Eric Salazar headlining Men’s Open and Lenny Wicks taking home the prize in Classic Physique. The 2021 Ben Weider Natural Pro/Am took place in Alexandria, VA with plenty of athletes taking the stage to show off the product of hard work. There were a total of seven divisions with winners vying for qualification to the 2022 Olympia.
Natural bodybuilding is beginning to come to light. It is because of competitions like this one that the sport is getting off the ground recently.
Salazar was a force in NPC competitions with three victories in 2019. It began with the NPC Southeast Texas Championships followed by the NPC Battle of the Bay and headlined with a victory during the NPC USA Championships. Wicks was last on stage back in April going up against some other top competitors in Classic Physique. This is when he finished 10th at the Pittsburgh Pro.
Sunny Andrews made an appearance in this competition after competing in five IFBB shows in this year. This was highlighted by two second-place finishes, which came during the Monterrey Pro ad Milwaukee Pro. Andrews also competed in the Olympia and finished sixth in the Wellness division.
The Bikini division has turned into one of the biggest in bodybuilding in terms of size. Angela Ruscilli has made appearances in some top shows this year such as the Pittsburgh Pro, Tampa Pro, and Hurricane Pro. In Bikini, it was Shenese Carr who took home the gold.
