The 2024 Powerlifting America (PA) Raw Nationals from March 14-16, 2024, in Reno, NV, was a spectacle of big lifts, world records, and future contest shakeups. A combination of all three was featured in the Men’s 93KG division won by Brandon Pitre.
Pitre went eight-for-eight in his performance at the 2024 PA Raw Nationals, culminating in an overall gold medal. His 895-kilogram total matched Gustav Hedlund of Sweden’s current IPF world record raw total. Check out Pitre’s performance in the video below, courtesy of Pitre’s Instagram page:

Pitre’s performance in Reno had larger implications for future meets. As a result of his 895-kilogram total, Pitre claimed Jonathan Cayco‘s spot on Team USA to compete in the 93KG class at the 2024 IPF World Classic Championships (WCC). Cayco’s best total was 893 kilograms, scored at the 2024 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships.
The 2024 IPF WC, scheduled for June 15-23, 2024, in Druskininkai, Lithuania, will be Pitre’s debut at that competition. Per Open Powerlifting, it will also be Pitre’s first time competing outside the USA.
