Powerlifting phenom Agata Sitko, fresh from her historic win at the 2024 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships in the UK, is again making headlines. She is the top-ranked powerlifter in the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) on GL points, both raw and equipped. She holds 11 Open world records, including the bench press world record in the 69KG, 76KG, and 84KG classes.
Sitko lifted at the Arnold Sports Festival UK on March 15, 2024, in the classic (raw) powerlifting category and wrote her name in the record books again with a phenomenal 154.5-kilogram bench press in the 76KG class. Check out the lift below, courtesy of the IPF Instagram page:
Sitko took the barbell in the maximum width grip permitted, with forefingers covering the rings. On receiving the start command, she visibly braced and began the descent.
Sitko timed her leg drive perfectly, and the bar moved rapidly off the chest. Although she hit a sticking point halfway up and the bar speed slowed considerably, she pushed through and was rewarded with three white lights and a new IPF world record.
The event featured lifters in various weight classes and scored on GL points — a formula designed to compare powerlifters across different bodyweight categories used by the IPF and its affiliates. Sitko’s performance across the three disciplines gave her an unassailable win in the classic powerlifting category. She took home 3,000 Euros in prize money and her new world record.

Sitko will compete at the 2024 IPF Classic World Championships (CWC) in Druskininkai, Lithuania, in June 2024. She won silver the last two years, losing on bodyweight to Jessica Buettner in South Africa in 2022 and by 2.5 kilograms to Karlina Tongotea in Malta in 2023.
The Polish Powerhouse is on a winning streak. If she can carry this momentum into the 2024 CWC, she could finally take one of the few accolades that has eluded her so far: the Classic World title.
