Today, November 17, 2023, BarBend is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Morning Chalk Up. Since launching during the 2016 CrossFit Open, Morning Chalk Up has been the go-to digital publication for the sport of CrossFit and its community as a whole. For many, their day doesn’t truly start until the Morning Chalk Up newsletter lands in their inbox.
Since the start, Morning Chalk Up has sought to help the CrossFit community stay informed by highlighting the stories of elite athletes, providing breaking news and insights into the sport and industry, and shining a spotlight on thousands of everyday folks who partake in CrossFit to lose weight, get fit, fight chronic disease, and find a home in boxes around the world. As Morning Chalk Up‘s new owners and operators, BarBend is committed to continuing that legacy.
“The whole team at the Morning Chalk Up is excited to make this transition and build on the incredible foundation we’ve established in the CrossFit space,” said Morning Chalk Up Managing Editor, Joe Genetin-Pilawa.
When BarBend began in 2016, our mission statement was clear: to become the world’s premier destination for all things strength. We’ve accomplished this through respectful coverage and thoughtful analysis of the top strength sports, along with the thousands of articles on training and nutrition we’ve published to help people live healthier, stronger lives.
With this acquisition, BarBend further bolsters its mission, bringing along a staff of media professionals from Morning Chalk Up whose passion for the CrossFit community is rivaled only by their talent for crafting one-of-a-kind content about the sport they love.
If you’re one of the many CrossFitters worldwide who count the Morning Chalk Up as part of their daily routine, you’ve got nothing to worry about. We are still dedicated to producing the content you love — and we’ve got plenty of plans for bringing you even more of what Morning Chalk Up does best in the coming weeks and months.
