I tore the long head of the upper 2 bicep heads about 7 years ago and had it repaired. It was a LONG PAINFUL recovery.... Well I think I did it again, I won't go into how, but it was a fight and unavoidable. I have a lot of pain and very limited movement. There is a dent at the top of the bicep underneath the shoulder, but it doesn't look as bad as the first one and I can't be sure it wasn't like that already. I go for my MRI on Tues and then will have surgery ASAP if necessary. This will ruin my vacation, not to mention the tremendous gains I've made. I'm pretty distraught. If I do end up needing surgery how soon after should I start with the IGF?? What, if anything do you recommend to prevent the muscle wasting?? They did X rays at the ER and the screw is still in place.

Forgot to mention, that I heard and felt it pop and the pain is the same as last time

well did u at least win the fight?

I wouldn't call it a win due to the bicep tear, but I did wreck that piece of craps day and had him begging me not to break his neck. I'm not going to lie, I considered it.

well the screw still being there is a good sign, unless the bicep simply tore at the next weakest link. if the pain was as bad and as LONG as before, id say bad news. if it hurt just as bad but dissapated alot faster, thats a good sign.

As far as muscle wasting the only thing I know is that deca is prescribed for that in AIDS patients. I hope you didn't tear it, but if you did make absolutely sure you recover and start back light.

You guys will know anything when I do. The pain is much less today and there is no swelling. I also have almost full movement, but it still does hurt a bit. At this point I'm kind of uncertainas to what I'm hoping is the outcome. Still leaning towards not torn, but then I'll only get about $1000 and still have to go through a bunch of IGF and wasted recovery training. If its torn I'll need surgery, but will also get a check for around 10K... maybe more. Thank god for supplemental insurance.

I would hope that its not a complete tear and I dont require surgery. If its not a complete tear and just taking it easy for a while is all that is needed, that is what I would hope for.

It hasn't "fallen down" like it did last time and in the positions I'm used to seeing it in it looks about the same, but as I turn my arm around and flex it and compare it with my left there is a big gap, but I can't be sure that wasn't the way it was as a result of the first surgery. I'm pretty freaked out and I have to be referred to get an MRI and I can't get the referral until at least Tues. I had made such awesome progress and now this shit... either way I'll be able to post a post surgical IGF recovery log and it will be a very accurate account since its the same arm and I've already had the surgery once......

Well I was there the last time it tore and there was no doubt in anyone's mind at all that it tore. If there is doubt now, IMO that is a good sign. Is there any bruising at all?

None at all. A slight amount of pain, very slight, but I'm still going to take the opportunity to stock up on pain pills.

Damn this sounds all too familiar i have a torn long head on my right arm. If the screw is still in place like said above you could have torn at the next weakest link. Mine didnt tear at the attachment to bone mine tore where the tendon and muscle meet. Thats why i havent had surgery about a 50% chance that they wont heal or hold a stitch and ill be back to point A. I hope its not torn for ya i cant imagine there not being bruising if it is though. I cant explain the gap if it went away after surgery but ive felt pops before and sometimes its just scar tissue that your body makes after the injury coming lose. best of luck and keep us posted.

That makes me feel a bit better, still waiting to go to the place for the MRI. I actually frayed the entire tendon last time. They scraped the attachment from the bone and built a new tendon with muscle fiber and steel thread. It still hurts though, so I'm pretty worried.

No MRI today or even a scheduled specialist visit. I guess Hopsitals and Dr's really aren't feeling the tightened economy. I'm thinking bad things and I had better get some attention very soon. I already spoke with the surgeon I want and confirmed that he accepts my ins. but someone is holding up the works. I can't even get in to get the fucking MRI yet?? WTF??!! They are quick fast and in hurry to take those premiums out of my fucking check!!!

And its only going to get worse if Obamacare passes.
