2022 Torian Pro CrossFit Semifinals Full Results and Recap

Things are heating up down under. Over the course of the weekend of May 20-22, 2022, many of the best athletes in CrossFit partook in the 2022 Torian Pro CrossFit Semifinal. The Oceanic regional competition was held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and saw scorchingly-close competition as well as some surprising results.
Unsurprisingly, CrossFit Games veteran and winningest woman of all time Tia-Clair Toomey took home the overall win on the women’s’ side, while Jay Crouch clinched the top of the men’s podium. In the Teams division, CrossFit Urban Energy excelled and was able to ascend to the top of the ladder by a comfortable margin.

2022 Torian Pro Overall Leaderboard
This is the final leaderboard for the men and women who participated in the 2022 Torian Pro. Note that the bolded names are those athletes whom have punched their tickets to the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin thanks to their performance in Brisbane.

2022 Torian Pro Individual Event Results
As usual, the Torian Pro provided a hearty mix of athletic challenges for the athletes. Five-time Games winner Toomey had nearly every workout in a stranglehold, while the men’s podium was a hotly-contested battle during each and every event.
Event 1
For time: 15 overhead squats (70/52 kilograms), 15 burpee box jump-overs (24/20 inches), 15 thrusters (61/43 kilograms), 15 power cleans (93/61 kilograms), 15 muscle-ups, run 1,500 meters, 15 muscle-ups, 15 power cleans (93/61 kilograms), 15 thrusters (61/43 kilograms), 15 burpee box jump-overs (24/20 inches), 15 overhead squats (70/52 kilograms). 23-minute time cap.

Thanks to knockout performances on an individual level — as well as some impressive team-based coordination — CrossFit Urban Energy was able to seize the top of the Teams ladder at the 2022 Torian Pro.
They placed between first and third on all six workouts, demonstrating impressive consistency.

CrossFit Selwyn and CrossFit EXF were essentially neck-and-neck throughout the competition, but an unfortunate ninth-place finish for EXF on Workout 5 may have ultimately cost them a second-place finish. Still, they’ve secured passage to the Games nonetheless.

Looking Forward
There’s much more competitive CrossFit to come before fans the world over turn their eyes to Madison. From May 20 to June 12, competitions will be held across the globe, giving each athlete (or team) a chance to prove their mettle and confirm their placement at the most prestigious event in the sport later in the summer.
On the horizon are the Mid-Atlantic Challenge and the Fittest in Cape Town Semifinals, both of which are to take place between May 26 and 29, 2022.
