How Fitness Shows are Judged
The Fitness division is scored differently than other divisions. Two rounds are judged in Fitness shows:

  • Physique Round — athletes are compared similarly to other divisions. Athletes are directed to perform specific poses for the judges. This round counts for one-third of a competitor’s overall score.
  • Routine Round — athletes perform a choreographed routine. This round counts for two-thirds of a competitor’s overall score.
There have been several pro shows where the overall winner of a contest lost the physique round but scored well enough in the routine round to claim the overall victory.

Tamara Vahn
Tamara Vahn ranked sixth in the 2022 Fitness Olympia, won by Missy Truscott. Vahn didn’t compete during the 2023 Olympia qualifying season. A win in Chattanooga would secure Vahn’s qualification to the 2024 Olympia, the date and location of which has not yet been announced at the time of this article’s publication.

Stephanie Jones
Stephanie Jones is qualified to compete in the 2023 Fitness Olympia in Orlando, FL, on Nov. 2-5, 2023, thanks to her gold-medal finish at the 2023 Arizona Pro show. The 2023 Chattanooga Night of Champions contest should prove to be a measure of her progress and potentially secure a 2024 Olympia qualification early. Beating a competitor of Vahn’s caliber would also boost confidence for the 2023 Olympia.

Kristin Pope
Kristin Pope competed in five pro shows during the 2023 Olympia season but did not win any. A win in Chattanooga would allow her an extended offseason to recover and effectively prep for the 2024 Olympia.
