[h=2]212 Arnold Classic Prejudging Report[/h]
The nine man line up for the 2015 212 pounds and under class may have lacked in quantity but not in quality. Once again the lighter division showed that compared to their open compatriots they had a superior cutting edge; maybe proving having to make a weight limit brings a conditional reward.
Of the nine quite a few made an early impression, before the dust of callouts was settled. Here’s a shorthand impression of each as they first came out to flex their wares.
Charles Dixon: Always had the muscle, but lacked tightness. Today he’s hard and dry with conditioned glutes. Massive muscle bellies. One drawback is lack of controlling his midsection.
Cory Matthews: Maybe best outing as a pro. Really full and striated quads, thick pecs, batlike lats, and good midsection.
Marco Rivera: Not as muscled overall as the top guys. Needs more quad size, lower back needing detail.
Hidetada Yamagishi: Great shape and balance not as hard as expected.
Shaun Tavernier: Sliced and full quads, eye-popping biceps. Thick upper body, but better from front than back.
Aaron Clark: Maybe best flowing physique in line-up, with razor quads, hanging ham and great back and biceps. But just a tad off.
Angel Vargas: Reasonable condition from front not so from back. Not densely enough muscle for the top guys in this line up
Jose Raymond: Trademark thickness is there and he’s hard and dry. Crazy quads and hams. Most muscular is off the charts. In this condition he covers up some structural problems.
Eduardo Correa: Thighs beyond shredded and as he is throughout. Left arm still lagging and thighs lack volume particularly compared to Raymond.
In the end these peppers saw it between Raymond and Correa with my preference leaning toward Jose due to his frame being packed with more quality muscle. Although the callouts saw Hide heavily in the mix I didn’t see him challenging the aforementioned duo. But with only 50% of the marks awarded there’s all to play for and if Aaron Clark sharpens up he could make inroads
