Garcinia Cambogia extract comes from a Southeast Asian fruit that is very small and shaped a bit like a pumpkin. The fruit has been used for medicinal applications and as a weight loss aid in Ayurvedic medicine for hundreds of years.


The active compound in the Garcinia Cambogia fruit is hydroxy citric acid. What’s so good about this acid? Well, it inhibits, or stops the action of an enzyme called ATP citrate lyase. This enzyme promotes the accumulation of body fat, especially belly fat.

Synephrine
Synephrine is the active ingredient in the bitter orange fruit. It is included in many fat burners due to its claimed ability to increase fat burning for energy, and increase the body's thermogenic effect. However, there is not much evidence to support these claims.


In large amounts, synephrine may cause such side effects as high blood pressure, headaches, and even fainting.9


Yohimbine
Yohimbine is extracted from the bark of the African evergreen tree. It has been used traditionally in West Africa as an aphrodisiac. Some studies have verified its ability to overcome erectile dysfunction. However, the study results in terms of weight loss are not as clear.


One study found that yohimbine is able to block alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in fat cells, resulting in weight loss. However, other studies have found no effect. More studies are needed before we can recommend yohimbine as an effective weight-loss supplement ingredient. 10


Zinc
Everybody requires zinc. The body uses this mineral to power enzymes that accomplish everything from producing DNA to treating injuries and maintaining hormone balance.
