“Another change of opponents,” Botelho wrote in Portuguese. “My fight continues [set for] May 1, I’m preparing for whoever the UFC brings in.”
Silva was forced to pull out of the fight due to a back injury, MMA Fighting has learned. “Sheetara” is expected to be cleared to train in 40 days.
The UFC has yet to officially announce the location and main event attraction for the Fight Night event.
Botelho (8-3) aims to get back to the winning column after a decision defeat to Gillian Robertson in October 2020, 18 months after the Nova Uniao fighter defeated Lauren Murphy via decision in Atlanta.
After suffering the first loss of her career to Maryna Moroz in March 2020, Silva submitted Mara Romero Borella in September to get back on track. In her most recent appearance at UFC Vegas 20 in February, Silva and Montana De La Rosa fought to a majority draw.
