BMR and Gear

So what happens when we are on cycle or off cycle?

How does this effect your bmr?

I assume you can take the calculation and throw it out the window. Depending on what your using.

Good question...I'll see if I can find anything, but I'm sure someone on here will have an answer by the time I find something

Throw BMR out the window anyway. BMR is a reading only for the "average" human. As soon as you put on some muscle weight it's out of wack..
Put it this way my BMR suggests that I'm over weight, yet my body fat is low enough to see my abs quite easily.

Weather ur on the gear or not it doesn't make a difference. BMR only works for people who
Dont train.

Are you thinking bmi (body mass index)... bmr. Whats your base metabolic rate?

I think its a good start when dialing in your diet.

From what I'm reading, steroids wouldn't cause it to change simply because your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) doesn't account for any type of activity period to begin with. Once you add in your type of physical activity level regardless of AAS use or not it's going to give you the BMR based on those levels. I know that a lot of things can change your BMR, so I'd only imagine that AAS would change it, but I don't know to what degree.

i think it would be pretty significate wouldnt it? when on, your appitite rises, and depending on your supplements the whole out put of atp increases.

when your off it cant be the same. i dont see it be the same, unless you have porter willies disease or something LOL

I think a lot of us go by appetite and just add more meals. others go by experience and trying new things. Competitors may do this while eating as lean as possible. But its still just guessing....

I just wonder if anyone has tried to actually document the results and was able to adjust bmr i a more effective manor. It would be nice to see these results, therefore not having to go through it from scratch.

i think there has to be a way to do that. why else would all these pro's go through chad nichols and that other skinny nerd jay cutler uses planning there stuff out.

you would be able to know exactly the amount of food needed, and what kinds of foods. it would be interesting

I think i have a solution. Its not far from what im doing now, or what anyone's doing for that matter. Just eat the same thing, take the same amount of gear, and burn the same amount of calories for 4 weeks.

It might give me a base to build off of.

I think i could pull this off.

Good luck, that's a long time to eat the same thing week after week, but if you are able to do it, it'd certainly clear some things up

I think that gear has an effect on your metabolism by increasing your LBM, and therefore your BMR. I don't think having a high level of test in your system, in and of itself affects your metabolism. It does however, I think, affect nutrient partitioning which can help you lean up.
