Bottle top filters? Any recommendations besides Millipore.

Can any one recommend bottle top filters besides Millipore? I'm looking at 500ml whatman zap cap .45 neck and .45 micron. Is this okay to use?

They also have auto fill but don't know how they work or if they work with a pump the same way as the others.

They also have 500 ml nalgene but are it of stock right now.

So can you guys tell me if these whatmans are the same as Millipore or work the same way. I have been getting Millipore that take hours I go through or won't go through at all. Do they work with a pump?

which size millipore are you using? i've always used a .45. i never used a whatman but i found millipore to be the best compared to the nalgene's and roush's

also, what are you brewing? test e clogged up much faster than short esters that i;ve made

the best filtration units are the full glass fritted base filtration systems...

The millipore have a pvdf or pes membrane, not sure which you were using. I have used both of these and the pvdf is far superior. I prefer a nylon membrane which is the whatman zap cap. These will stand up to recipes with guaiacol or other strong solvents. These have become my filter of choice, I always use .22um regardless of the filter type. I know nalgene used to make bottle tops with a nylon membrane but haven't seen them in a bit. I would always also have a glass media bottle instead of using the plastic one that comes with the complete unit, they crack very easily.

i still haven't tried the whatman zap cap's but out of the millipore/nalgene/roush i like the .45 millipore the most, they worked the best for me. and filtered fastest too. but still not fast at all lol

YES BUILD UR OWN SET UP.. ITS COST EFFICIENT IN THE LONG RUN AND MORE EFFECTIVE IN FILTERING AS WELL .
