Celebrex Info

Does anyone have any info on Celebrex? Ortho Doc has prescribed it for my chronic shoulder pain due to arthritis and bone spurs. Didn't advise surgery for the spurs (unbelievably) account the benefits would be minor. Doc says that heavy lifting (no more than body weight) should be avoided. I've currently been using Celebrex for 21 days with outstanding results, hardly any pain after lifting heavy. Been lifting off and on for 20 years. After reaching pr of 315 on my bench, I don't want to loose it. My question is, will this drug cause any damage since I don't have any pain after lifting heavy. I'm 49 y/o, 200lbs, 5'10". Been on TRT for the past 6 yrs. 200 mgs cyp weekly. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I've taken Celebrex before, several times. The only noticable side effect I got from it was terrible constipation. If you read the pote tial side effects, it sounds potentially horrendous, but a close friend at the time who works in the doc's office who prescribed it ptotally blew off the side effect warni gs and told me, "Don't worry about it." So I gather the side effects they warn about are rare.

I don't think the drug itself is going to cause damage; only thing I can see is if you're doing damage (like maybe the bone spurs abrading a tendon that comes in contact with it) and you wouldn't know it because the pain associated with that happening is not there. That may be a real possibility.

I don't know much about arthritis, so I can't really offer any comments there.

Please keep in mind I am no kind of doctor. Just someone who's had more visits to the orthopedist than most folks. And I ask a lot of questions when I'm there. So all of this should be regarded as my 2 cents, and that's probably exactly what it's worth.
