<!-- react-text: 40 -->Diindolylmethane(DIM) is a very cool molecule that has very unique mechanisms by which it works in the body. DIM actually forms in the body from the molecule indole-3-carbinol, which is found in cruciferous vegetables. There's a lot of confusion online as to how DIM works and what it actually does so I hope this clarifies everything. DIM can act as an androgen receptor antagonist, meaning it deactivates the AR upon binding. When test binds to the AR, it gets translocated into the cell nucleus where all the anabolic properties take place. DIM inhibits this process, so this would effectively lower test levels. This is great for people with BPH or prostate cancer. It's other function, which is why I think it's in a lot of test booster products, is promoting estrogen metabolism and possible anti-estrogenic effects. DIM doesn't directly block estrogen receptors(ER) like nolvadex or AIs, but it binds to the Aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR). Through binding to AhR, it causes the down regulation(production) of ER. It also increases the metabolism of estradiol(potent estrogen that causes gyno) into healthy, protective metabolites. So to recap, it's not an AI, and it's not a test booster. It does have a lot of anti-cancer properties and is worth taking for overall health and estrogen metabolism. DIM is found in epitest and apex make by <!-- /react-text -->@blackstonelabsofficial<!-- react-text: 42 -->, as well as a standalone product made by many companies. <!-- /react-text -->
