Strongman Eddie Hall has tried out many different sports since winning the 2017 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) and subsequently retiring from competitive strongman. In addition to his boxing match against 2018 WSM Hafthor Björnsson, Hall has tried activities as diverse as bobsleigh, tank driving, and sumo wrestling.
Hall’s most recent tryout was in a pro wrestling ring, where he surprised his family and hometown crowd by appearing unannounced at UK indie wrestling outfit Megaslam Wrestling’s Saturday night show on July 29, 2023. Check it out via the video below, courtesy of Hall’s YouTube channel:
Hall had arranged for his son, Max, along with other family members, to sit in the front row for his wrestling debut. However, Hall kept his placement on the roster secret. Max’s and the rest of the Hall family reacted with surprise when Hall emerged on stage in wrestling trunks.
Hall faced “Big Strong Man” as part of the main event, the “Megaslam Rumble.” Hall was quick to assert himself as the bigger, stronger man. He rapidly went on the offensive, picking up his opponent and carrying him around the ring. Hall played to the crowd before body-slamming his opponent onto the canvas.

Hall followed with a hanging suplex, in which he held the opposing wrestler upside down in the air before slamming him onto the mat. Hall overcame an ambush, breaking free and throwing his rival out of the ring to take the win.
Pro Wrestler Eddie Hall?
In April 2023, Hall shared a video to his YouTube channel wherein he underwent wrestling instruction alongside fitness influencer Jesse James West to prepare for his first wrestling match. Check it out below:

During this training session, Hall and West learned techniques to make the most impact in the ring with minimum risk. The instructor led them through basic moves and ensured their preparation to step into the squared circle. The video concludes with a tag team match for Hall and West to test their newfound skills.
The next major challenge on Hall’s horizon seems to be making his bodybuilding debut. He aims to step onto the stage for the first time in the final quarter of 2024.
