Frequency of changing routines?

How frequently should I change my weight lifting routine? Should I constantly change it up to keep my muscles guessing or should I keep at it until I hit a plateau?

Some people do..but I think as long as you deload every once in a while, Theres no reason why you shouldnt be able to keep progressing on the same routine for extended periods of time.
 
some weeks do some volume training and when you feel strong go heavy for sets of 5 reps for a week
 
Thanks for your insight, guys. I was just wondering if "muscle confusion" theory holds any water...

yes it does bro!! but as nuk said changing to just drop sets and rep changing ect also confuses the muscle
