Possibly the most recognizable prohormone and fan favorite, Halodrol was an active steroid originally released by gaspari in 2005. Structurally similar to, and most likely converted to the steroid oral turinabol, Halodrol differs only by the substitution of a OH group on carbon 3 vs the traditional C=O group found on almost all steroids. This subtle change dropped its anabolic ratio from 8.8:1 to 2.6:1, as the OH does not bond as tightly to the AR. The Cl group on carbon 4 prevents it from converting to DHT or estrogen, which is why users reported "dry" gains. This chemical property, as well as the double bond on carbon 2 also contributed to Halodrol's ability to dramatically increase RBC production which improved endurance, oxygen consumption, lactic acid clearance and even glycogen storage. Unfortunately, this was also accompanied with a dramatic decrease in HDL, as well as an increase in LDL. Halodrol is methylated at carbon 17 to prevent deactivation, so liver toxicity is an issue. Common doses reported were 50-150mg a day. I personally was a huge fan of short cycles of Halodrol, but always used NAC for liver support and fish oils/niacin for HDL support.
