I've always used both in my workouts throughout the yrs. Always switching it up. Of course like all, I was into the MAX I CAN LIFT phase to gain as much mass as I could which I fully agree with and believe is needed to keep growing bigger.

But now that I'm older, and only looking to maintain and not gain, what works best for me is moderate to heavy weights but with Higher Reps and Sets and a much faster pace! That way my heart is pounding as well.
