Check this out! I've been working on getting my home gym well enough equipped to make it my primary place to work out, and I'm finally there! There are a couple of other pieces I'd like to get eventually, but I now have enough weight and equipment to do everything I need to right in my basement.
A couple months ago I picked up a very nice LifeFitness lat pulldown machine. I also welded together a chinup bar. This weekend I picked up a very nice, clean commercial leg press machine. I also spent some time cruising Craigslist and grabbed 18 45 lb plates, giving me a total of 20. I need to fill a couple holes in my dumbbell rack, and will need to get the heavier ones (so far I have up to 75). But for now, I have everything I need!
I keep saying, "I", when really I should be saying, "we", because my wife trains also and she also dropped her membership.
I'm pretty psyched! The closest gym to me is a solid 20 minutes away; the one I LIKE (it's a franchise, membership at one gives access to all, which is a nice feature) is a solid 30 minutes away. So being able to train at home cuts out an hour of driving. Not to mention I never have to deal with a crowded gym, crap music or other common annoyances!
Yee fuckin ha!!
Now I gotta finish the construction end of it: one more wall to frame, then finish drywall, doors, trim, etc...
