I know what I've read about cortisol but they posted a list saying the guy at our gym logs almost 3 hours a day. Well the number one member anyway. I wonder if he scans his card then goes to work and scans out
Hell at the Y here they stay in that long running their damn mouths and holding up benches lol that's why I left. I can usually be in and out in an hour or less. Don't see the need to be in there much longer unless you stay and do cardio or do it before lifting.
I always shoot for 45min-1hr, and that's with a workout partner, headphones on, and just lift not much BSing. After an hour I think you start to go into a negative area, where your causing more harm than good. This is of course with high intensity and good sets and reps.
If I'm only lifting, I'm out in around 45 minutes. I've spent a couple hours jn the gym before but that was when I was powerlifting and there were 3 of us. Add in the extra time between sets and 2 hours was normal

yep if im in there too long my pump starts going the other way, its weird but i dont just reach a pump plateau , i actually start reversing my pump with every single rep after a certain point, so im about an hour if that
I go until I'm done. By no means are any of us "normal" to where overtraining is of any concern........logically though. I think there is a point to where there is no benefit but not to where it hinders you. My longest days are arm days 60-75 minutes. I think there are days where you need a shorter day just as much as you need a lighter day, just to change things up. This past Friday was chest day and I went so light that I felt embarrassed. I did db presses with 65lbs and really worked the negatives and db flys with 45lbs. I'm still so damn sore now and had an insane pump.
I've been in the gym for about 1.5 hours each time lately. It just draws out for some reason. I tend to try to do too much sometimes so I have to make myself stop.
chest if im on my own i can be done 45 mins tops...but leg day i try to feed up cuz i know im 2 hours.ish..i would be great to be out within 45 mins but its not gona happen ever and we dont mess about either..but that includes a warm up and warm down..i realy need to warm legs before i hit em...
I am in and out in 45 minutes. I rest less than a minute between sets, which makes up for the fact that I do no cardio. Like Presser states, I lose my pump if I try to go longer, which is counterproductive.
I take short rests and usually do 24 - 28 sets max when I'm doing isolation workouts. I'm doing 10 miles on the bike a day And I'm there a max of an hour and a half. With less cardio hour max. I'm trying to get my bf low before my next run

i sometimes will use 45lbs and yea i might feel like a pussy if someone who dont know me is in there but those negatives and pauses cause me more soreness than 120lbs
