What is BMR and How Can I Find My BMR Number?
The Number of Calories You Burn Daily While at Rest is Known As Your "BMR" or Basal Metabolic Rate
This is the bare minimum required amount of calories you need to perform your daily duties, brush your teeth, drive to work, walk upstairs to office, walk to car , drive home, this is not your sedentary sitting and sleeping all day numbers which are what most BMR formulas predict for, then they will ask you to determine your Total daily energy expenditure "TDEE" yada yada yada, whereas i like to use the K.I.S.S. Formula with all my other Formulas lol These calories do NOT include extra activity such as working out at the gym, going jogging, running on the treadmill etc...
So knowing your metabolic baseline for your humdrum existence is very useful in establishing how many calories you'll need to burn in order to drop a few percentages of body fat , that is of course when your finally ready to get off your ass and do something about being out of shape, over weight, shy and lonely due to being ugly and fat.

For men, the formula is (6.25 x body weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.76 x age) + 66.
For women, this formula is (4.35 x body weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.68 x age) + 655.
