Huperzine A is an all natural nootropic molecule that is commonly found in many top selling cognitive enhancement products. It works by inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which breaks down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is responsible for not only cognitive function and learning, but also muscle contraction.
Huperzine A has data that is as good as or better than current Rx drugs tacrine and rivastigmine, all while having better oral bioavailability and can cross the BBB more effectively. Data has also show it to be neuroprotective against glutamate and peroxide induced damage. Huperzine A works well with other nootropic compounds like noopept, as well as adding a choline source such as DMAE, alpha GPC, or CDP-choline.
Effective doses is between 100-300mcg a day. Huperzine A is part of my GC X @myoblox Loco to increase focus, and ease the onset/crash of heavy stims like N,N-dimethylphenylethylamine and high doses of caffeine.
