Hyperhidrosis = extreme sweating
Well I sweat a lot. Lots of board members here do, but my case is extreme. While I sweat only on my face and my body usually stays dry as a cork, my facial sweat is extremely extreme, which bring a great discomfort. I literally leak like a fountain. Becoming a bit muscular (heavier) has even worsened it now. Weather is hot here now and I'm literally dripping like a fountain.
I just got my results today from an elaborate blood exam, and not a single value is beyond the normal range. My blood pressure, heart rate and body temp are normal. So there's nothing really wrong with me and it's all just a dysfunction of my system. And so there's nothing they can do for me.
I'm considering surgery now. I'm not at all easily scared, but it involves passing a telescope across the chest cavity from incision(s) near the armpit. Then the lung is depressed by passing carbon dioxide into the chest cavity to permit a good view of the sympathetic chain. Then they destroy this nerve chain by cutting it. Then the CO2 is then removed from the chest and the lung re-inflated.
Sounds creepy just to stop sweating, doesn't it? It's supposed to have an extremely low risk rate, but I'm always a sucker for Murphy's Law, so. Chances are sweating will be reduced by 80% though.
Anyone heard of it or know people who have done this? Anyway I'm actually just venting. It's really occupying my mind. I'm also not to crazy about the fact that in Belgium this technique is very new and so far there is only one doc in the entire country that performs this operation.
