18 months ago I slipped on ice and hit hard, in fact I was black and blue in the arm area for a while. The X-rays were negative for breaks and my strength went way down as I couldn't bench or do dumbbell chest presses with any more than 40 LBS cause my left arm would go off to the side whenever I lifted and my tri's ached on that side. I trained for 3 NPC shows like this, took 3 wks off after the last one and didn't help one bit. Now many months later I saw DR actually for skin cancer and he looks at the atrophy in the left arm and says either I have nerve damage and muscle is dead OR detached tricep which he suspects it is.

So w/my insurance I have to find a specialist and get MRI done to see for sure the issue. But my left side has atrophied considerably. Of it did detach, after this long I hope it can be re-attached. Has anyone ever had this or know anyone who has dealt with this? Usually its the bicep that detaches. Tricep is rare. I know the down time is significant. I'm worried this may end my competitive career. I guess I'm panicking and until MRI is done I shouldn't freak. Would appreciate any feedback! Thanks.

PS The Dr couldn't believe I trained for all that time with it potentially detached, I told him it was no walk in the park and that I was just plain stubborn

I've had nerve damage in my outer left quad and atrophy set in and it was flaccid and wouldn't flex, so can you flex your tricep even a little? my muscles took a year to start flexing again and is normal today thank GOD after all the doctors said it would nevr flex again, so they don't know shit, so take it day by day brutha, and the MRI will tell the story

I am very good at proving Drs wrong, I've managed to beat all 3 kinds of skin cancer, including the deadly maligant melonomia. My first cancer was detected 12 yrs ago. This tricep thing I am confident I will defeat. It may take a while but I will win cause as you know, Drs dont know shit about what BB and Power Lifters are made of. Thanks for the vote of confidence bro.

You have the right attitude and moniker, " Survivor". The MRi will show, body heals though slower at our age. My wifes friend just had to stop working at age 50 due to MS. He has trouble walking. You'll be fine, I just had my 4th back surgery and my last one. Im fat now but getting back in shape. Sad part was being fat in the summer. Being fat in the summer sux's

Sorry about yr friends wife, my cousin died of MS back in the 70's when he was like 13. 4 back surgeries, damn Bro thats challenging right there. Now you have 9 months till next summer so go get em!! Thanks for the encouraging words, I get frustrated sometimes but the most I ever miss is one workout, then I get pissed and get right back at it

So until I get an MRI, would I be wise NOT to train triceps?? That could screw it up further....

Do NOT train your triceps brutha! If you pm me your Shipping address, I will send over a free Vial of Lr3 IGF-1 , bro it worked fucking wonders …no miracles on my dead quad many years ago, which is the SOLE reason I started selling it, after i found it and used it to heal what doctors said was a permanent injury, i said I have to bring this to the masses, no bullshit! Those posts are still here if you search back posts at about 13 year ago.

Anyhow, if you use it close to the injury, it tends to help a little more, it will help regardless of where you use it, but when used closest to the injury it helps heal much faster! Strangthens tendons, cartilage , muscles, you know the drill, and we have shit loads of real studies posted here for you to read up on.

ANyhow, i don't mind sending you a free bottle to help you out brutha! Maybe you can keep a log on how it helps your injury, and be honest, if it doesn't help then say so, but i have full confidence this will help your specific injury big time, i would wait to use it until the MRI results, but i can send you a free vial now if ya want to pm me ur addy brutha, I figure you been a member here 10 years now, so maybe a free vial is in order lol

Press I can pay you as I too am in biz and I know what its like. So others can see my questions, is this something I use IN PLACE of invasive surgery, or before it or post surgery? Another question is should I be pinning the bad tri like I've been doing? After all its not the muscle that becomes detached....I go for consultation this Friday and hopefully Dr will order MRI next week. Thanks for yr concern, its much apprecaited. Will PM you my addy

i know your a business owner brutha, and no need to pay me anything, I will make the free vial back ten fold if you keep a short and to the point review thread updated a couple times a week on how its helping you!

And yes I got your om with shipping info and I will have this sent out this week, and again wait to get the MRI before doing anything, and NO the igf-1 lr3 is not to replace invasive surgery, it will help you eviver faster from the surgery if you need it, strengthen everything faster! But again i would wait brutha, and i would not apply it directly to the injured muscle, just close, so if say i wanted to heal my tricep tendons faster after surgery or something, I would apply the igf to that arms bicep, or delt area.

Now when I had the dead/flacid quad muscle, I DID indeed apply the igf directly the same muscle that was injured, however the leg muscle is so big, that i was able to apply it to same muscle but plenty far enough away from the injured area, whereas your tricep is a smaller muscle obviously, so I would NOT apply the igf to the injured muscle there, i would just use it close in delt or bicep as i said above

Now after MRI, showed no tear a good thing, but still have no solutions. The MRI showed abnormal anconeus muscle which is near elbow in the tricep. Everything else is normal, per words on report is "anconeus muscle strain or possible early denervation changes"

So the Orth Dr where I went did tell me I could seek another opinion....its looking like nerve issue, I know the clininc has therapy for that....or I could get 2nd opinion. Can damaged nerves be brought back after 19 months? If thats the issue? If so what do they do for the therapy? My left arm is a tad atrophied....wondering if I invest in another Dr or just start therapy.

I know nerves CAN regrow, though they don't always. When they regrow, it is VERY slow. I had a nerve damaged during oral surgery 30 years ago, which left my chin and bottom lip completely numb. I couldn't tell if I had milk or water or whatever running down my chin, and couldn't tell if my lip was between my teeth for a LONG time, which has led to some mildly embarrassing moments on the minimum end of the scale, to some bloody injuries at the max end. In the last 10 years or so the feeling has steadily been returning and while not as good as new, I have a lot more sensation there than I have in a long time, and it seems to keep improving.

I also had a nerve in my shoulder damaged somewhat in a motorcycle crash 4 years ago when my shoulder fracture-dislocated. My whole arm went numb including my fingers. The atrophy that followed left me with zero muscle in my shoulder, especially my rear delt. I couldn't do a "dumbbell row" empty handed initially. No joke, couldn't raise the weight of my own arm when I started to rehab it.

All the feeling returned to my arm and shoulder within a few months, and I was able to build my shoulder back up almost equal to my right.

I think I would be inclined to go ahead and start the PT and see what happens.

Bro where were you when you tripped on ice. You may have a lawsuit that could pay for all your bills bahahah.
Maybe I can sue myself then LOL. Was outside my back door on my house. Its all that fricken Survivors fault for not keeping that salted!!!

I did check w/my home owners policy and it covered everyone else. I have insurance albeit not the best but have something.

I think I may as well start therapy as getting a 2nd opinion will likely be same as first plus it wastes valuable time

fuck bro, did i ever send you out that free vial of igf-1 lr3? I can't remember now, please pm me either way , cause can't fucking remember now and its bothering me if i didn't
