Hello folks,
I've been training for quite a while but mostly martial arts (but still a good deal of weight training as well) for the past 30 yrs - I'm 37 currently. I moved 1.5 years ago to a place where there is little martial arts activity, per se. So, one of my best friends is a natural body builder that lives in this area, and I asked him to train me. My friend definitely knows what he's doing and mentors w/a lot of other top natural bodybuilders and other bodybuilders as well, per se. For the past 1.5 years all I have done (except heavy bag training) is heavy weight training. Various methods w/mostly free weight (bar, dumbbells, etc...), some occlusion training... always mixing it up. Eating habits have been key. Focusing on getting my meals in, watching my macros, taking the right supplements such as quality whey, casein, bcaa's, creatine, glutamine (all ON), l-arginine, fish oils, pre-workout (amino energy) and recently added (beta alanine to my pre-workout as well as ZMA for nighttime, plus, some fenugreek... just need to nail down the timing on taking casein and zma at night so I ensure the best bioavailability). I've gained about 15-20 pounds of lean muscle over the past 1.5 years and lost a good amount of belly fat (extremely vascular)... currently weighing right at 170 lbs (actual weight) w/approx. 10-13% body fat, give or take. I feel great and yeah, look alright as well + my strength has soared!
With all that said (go easy on me here), I've also been taking TRT (Cyp), 200mg weekly for the past ~5 yrs. A therapeutic does if you will. My levels are checked every 6 months. My T levels are currently maintained at ~600-800. My last results were actually around 900. I try to take the TRT at the same time before each appointment but tbh, that doesn't always work out precisely.
I like the gains I've made, and I know from what I've read on some threads, the overall consensus is that you are either taking TRT or you are using gear. I get that. My body frame isn't that big, but I do feel I could add another 20 lbs+. of lean muscle but to some extent, even mixing up my workouts, it seems I've plateaued - probably just psychosomatic. I've wanted to add some things to my current "supplement" list. I'm open to any suggestions (In the past, I did utilize some other things + the same cyp as I'm on now, just at higher levels).
Anyone have any good feedback on what I could add or increase, to ultimately, increase my gains? Again, I'm open to any suggestions. I know there are a few items I could add that wouldn't be too extreme but would still yield solid results - locating is a different story. Right now, I'm focused on building quality mass and strength. That may change later on this year to a more "cutting" regiment, I dunno yet.
Thoughts/feedback? Feel free to PM me on any specifics. Thank you.
