Ive been using syringe filters and whilst making 100ml isn't too bad, its still a bit of a ball ache. A couple of hours from start to finish for 150ml the other night wasn't much fun really when I keep hearing about bottle top filtration.
Im planning on getting some zapcaps, an electric vacuum pump and some glass media bottles. I also understand that pre filters are a good idea?
The parts that I don't understand is firstly if the pump that Im looking at is the correct type for the job: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vacuum-Pu...oning-Refrigeration-Gauges-Tool-/112403227095
Secondly, I don't know what tube, what size the tube should be and where the tube connects to on the machine and the set up?
Thirdly, Im thinking that once the oil has been filtered and is now in the media bottle/receiver flask, how do you keep it sterile? When I take the filter off from the top of it, it will then be exposed to air which will then make it unsterile? I think I read that you can buy a special rubber top for the media bottle so you can then get the oil out of the bottle and into whatever vials you want to store it in. Can anyone explain how that part is done?
