It always feels good to just do so work. Especially when its for yourself. I just got done painting my own house. Best part about this is when I look at it and know I did it. Anyone just enjoy working sometimes?

yeah i know what you mean, but only with certain things lol, i am not a fan of manual labor lol, but i do know the satisfaction of knowing you did it youself once your all done, but i still bitch and moan while doing it lol, I redid the inside of my entire house 3.5 years ago getting ready for the twins to arrive, and i painted the entire insdie on my house, every room, hung 9 new doors throughout the house, shaved them , painted them, and well i fucking hated it during the work,

but yes once im done im satisfied i did it, but im still not a fan of hard work lmao

oh and i much rather pay someone to do this kind of shit lmao, we have a riding mower sitting in the garage collecting dust cause i pay landscaper to come out once a week lmao , i dont mind doing the finishing type work, like gardening and such, but overall not a fan of hard work,

I worked hard all my younger years, doing labor, from building houses, to roofing, to gutting out homes and renovating them, and i have to say, i love sitting at a desk every day now lmao

I hear ya Brother, I was a Ironworker right out of college for 5 yrs, work was high up, dangerous and hard. Sweated my ass in summer, froze in winter. I figured a while back if I'd stuck w/ it, as it paid very well, I would have been retired by now and living eslewhere...or dead! at 56, too old for manual labor, hard core training suits me just fine!

Stress is much better controlled when paying someone else to do the work! lol

IDK, maybe when it comes to shit like landscaping, but the flip side of your statement is ..Stress is much better controlled when someone else is paying you to do the work. lol,

Meaning...i sometimes wish i was an employee and just collected a pay check every week instead of the headaches of being the boss and all the headaches that comes with it, its always fucking something! lol, so i suppose it works both ways!

If you enjoy manual labor come with me, for a week or so. Not that I dislike my job just the heat blows, when it's cold you can work a little harder do some jumping Jack's or something, but the heat
just sux you can't escape it.

Yep Presser, I'm a retired plumber and pipe fitter and other than the gym, my idea of manual labor is lifting my second cup of coffee about 9:30 am. Lol

I think it depends. I've seen too many crappy jobs done by "professionals" to want to have to fight with one afterwards to get it done *right*. There are a number of jobs that I prefer to do, and do "properly" so I just have to do them *once*.

I love doing things myself. I've pretty much tried it all. Including installing a camshaft... (CH3N02 did most of it). I've put together supercharger kits.. I've done brakes and some electronics. I love yard work, some plumbing, some flooring, cabinets, I built a canopy for a 120 gallon fish tank. My only thing is I don't want to invest in a lawnmower and have more stuff in the garage. I also can't get up high enough to trim the palms which drives me insane. I've even built light fixtures, installed ceiling fans, I'm sort of handy. I'm going to tackle a new downpipe and EGR delete pipe on my truck next week I think. Pretty serious job. I built a 3 tier planter for succulents in the backyard. I'm good with plants. All my aquariums are planted. I've got some pretty exotic stuff. Some of the plants only grow along a certain river in Borneo.
Once we get the laundry room re plumbed (we got a new washer and dryer and pipes are in the way so they can't sit flush against the wall) I'm going to build a 1000 gallon pond in our backyard complete with a water fall.
