Evaluating the ECA Stack
I'm frequently asked questions regarding energy drinks and fat burners. First there are no magic bullets despite media claims. Busting your butt in the gym and disciplined eating trumps any of the latest fads. Energy should come from within not from out. But to gain an edge, lets look at what many consider the King. ECA is an acronym for Ephedrine, Caffeine and Aspirin. When used in appropriate dosages, this somewhat controversial concoction will provide outstanding energy and will speed up your metabolism via Thermo-Genesis (raising your body temperature to burn fat)
First the disclaimers....get a Dr permission before you begin any exercise program and inform him you intend to use this cocktail, be sure your body can tolerate the ECA stack and teenagers need not apply. Check your local laws for availability and legalities of Ephedrine.
Ephedrine is a naturally occurring sympathomimetic amine (huh?) found in the Ephedra genus plant, including Chinese herb ma huang. Its DNA is close to adrenaline and stimulants yielding benefits and drawbacks. Ephedrine took a major hit many years ago when a small percent of users died from it. It was discovered the deaths were dose related as bad things happen when you use 4-5 times past what was advised. It was outlawed for a short time but now is back albeit smaller dosages. Danish researchers found that the fat loss was more than twice as great with exercisers when taking Ephedrine as opposed to the group who didn't use it. It is now back being sold over the counter including in the popular medicine Primatine. Many confuse Ephedrine with the now banned Fenfluramine/Phentermine known as Fen-Phen which was popular many years ago. Rest assured Ephedrine is much safer.
Caffeine is well known as a stimulant readily available in capsule form or in many drinks. It too takes a hit as it spikes ones appetite which is easily negated by increasing your daily protein intake.
Aspirin, known as a blood thinning analgesic is sold in countless stores.
If you decide to take your Ephedrine via Primitine, you are required to sign for it. The only drawback here is that a while back Primatine started putting the expectorant Gaufinessan in it which isn't very good for you. Also be 100% sure you use the HCL and not the Sulfate. Take 25 mg.
Next ingest 200-400 mg of caffeine via capsules, coffee or tea
Lastly, is Aspirin, if your stomach revolts a standard 325 mg, as what is preferred, switch to baby Aspirin which is 81 mg which will suffice.
Stop use with any heart palpitations or any other adverse reactions. Stick with recommended dosages and hand tremors usually cease over time. Take this upon waking so immediate effects wear off by bed time. Working out is not optional, its required for optimal fat burning capabilities. Be advised because you are raising your core temperature, you will perspire often and your heat tolerance will become zippo.
Good luck with this and all your fitness endeavors!
