Ranked lightweight Myles Jury has decided to continue his career at featherweight, and has joined a few fighters who are leaving Alliance MMA in favor of an Arizona gym.
It looks like Myles Jury is starting fresh. The former TUF competitor, currently ranked at number eight at lightweight, has decided to drop the featherweight division. The news comes via a release from his management.
That's not the only change though - he has also left Alliance MMA to move over to Power MMA & Fitness in Arizona. And he's not the only one. Current UFC lightweight Johnny Case, former Bellator lightweight champ Michael Chandler, Justin Lawrence, and Luis Saldana have also made the move to the gym that features the likes of Ryan Bader and C.B. Dollaway.
The 26-year-old Jury (15-1, 6-1 UFC) picked up the first official loss of his career when he dropped a decision to Donald Cerrone in January. He was supposed to compete on last month's Fox card in Chicago, but was forced out with an injury.
Jury's drop to 145 is obviously noteworthy, but the exodus of top fighters from Alliance might be the even bigger story here. The San Diego gym also recently lost their grappling coach, Neil Melanson, to the Blackzilians.
cowboy kicked his ass straight out of the division lmao
that kind of exodus is crazy though, i wonder what the story is there
