Klatt wore a singlet and a belt when he approached the barbell. After assuming a sumo stance, he grabbed the center of the bar with both hands using a double overhand grip. The bar came up smoothly and quickly until he reached lockout. Pyro went off behind him in recognition of his accomplishment as he received three white lights from the judges.
The lift was 3.58 times his body weight, and his followers may have had an idea this was coming. One week before the meet, he had pulled 800 pounds in training, as he documented on Instagram.
