Dude is fucking huge!
From the beginning of 2016, Rich Piana, a bodybuilding favourite, former Mr. California and YouTube sensation, has been embarking upon his self-designed ‘bigger by the day’ program in an effort to prove to his fans that putting on quality muscle mass really isn’t that hard.
Piana, known for his honesty and no-holds-barred approach to muscle building has been documenting his mass building journey from the start of 2016. He has shared a vast amount of knowledge with his fans, including his steroid cycle, dietary regime and training, all geared towards educating his followers in the hope of proving the so-called impossible task of putting on large amounts of muscle in a short period of time, really is possible and can be done easily with the right approach.
Piana is somewhat of a cult figure in the bodybuilding world. He doesn’t compete, hasn’t done for over a decade, and yet he is at the top of his game in terms of popularity and fan following. His social media accounts, picture and videos attract more views than some of the top names in the professional sport of bodybuilding and his popularity has taken off even further in recent months.
The tattooed, self-assured, multifaceted entrepreneur is also a marketing genius and knows what his fans want to see. In the world of bodybuilding, size attracts size, and Piana is arguably the biggest of them all. However, until recently, Piana was weighing in at about 275lbs, a weight at which he feels the most comfortable. His tattoos have been inked onto his skin in strategic places, to accentuate his muscles, giving them the illusion that they’re bigger than they are, and Piana also trains to develop certain body parts, again to make himself seem bigger than he is. Now no one is arguing that 275lbs isn’t big. But Piana has been irked by people commenting on his social media pages, stating that it’s impossible for him to put on anymore size, so in an effort to prove them wrong, he began his quest to turn into a mass monster.
Piana’s original goal was to put on 30lbs in 3 months, but a couple of months into the program, Piana had already achieved this task. He has never stated that he enjoyed weighing in at over 300lbs, and was doing it simply to make a point – that putting on this amount of size is possible.
In the recent weeks, after reaching 314lbs, Piana came out and said that: “I am miserable at this size and definitely do not want to continue putting size on. I have surpassed what I would call an incredibly awesome bodybuilding physique! This is just too much and my head is ready to explode! I know that I have more than proven my point of how easy it really is to be successful in life at whatever you choose if you are willing to do whatever it takes.”
However, Piana has said that he will continue to make videos and encourages everyone currently following his program to stick at it. Many of his videos gain hundreds of thousands of views and he will no doubt continue to be successful in his future endeavours.
