Steroid Cream

When you think of anabolic steroids, the first thing you probably think of is a needle piercing the skin or perhaps a small oral tab. Without question, injectable and oral anabolic steroids are by far the most common, but a steroid cream can be found. In most cases, a steroid cream will be used in therapeutic treatment, such as in the treatment of low testosterone or as an anti-inflammatory; however, there are exceptions. Some athletes will use steroid cream, and the most common point of this use most associate is with the late BALCO operation and their famous THG product. At any rate, let's take a look at steroid cream and see what we can find.

The Common Steroid Cream:

The most common form of steroid cream available is a pure testosterone, often sold under the trade name AndroGel. This is a simple steroid cream that is commonly used in the treatment of low testosterone and Andropause, and to use it all one has to do is rub it on their skin. In most cases, this simple compound will be applied to the upper arms or shoulders and sometimes the chest, from there it absorbs into the body giving the patient the testosterone he needs.

In truth, anything that can be said of injectable testosterone can be said of its steroid cream counterpart; once in the body, the body makes no distinguishing difference. You may have heard the old saying "testosterone is testosterone" and this holds true here as well, but there are some important notes. Steroid cream like AndroGel is generally useless for a performance enhancer, as the rate of bioavailability is extremely low. For example, you could apply 5g of AndroGel, and you'd be doing good to actually absorb 100mg of usable testosterone. Even so, for the low testosterone patient this may indeed be all he needs. There is also a possibility of skin irritation, and it's not all that uncommon. Many men report rash like symptoms at the applied area; a condition that cannot occur with injectable testosterone.

Performance Steroid Cream:

When it comes to performance enhancement, you will rarely find steroid cream being used; as alluded to above, the rate of absorption isn't strong enough to provide a reasonable performance boost. Even so, as also stated above there are exceptions, and none is more well-known than that provided by BALCO. During the hysterical period inappropriately known as the "baseball steroid era" it came to light BALCO had provided athletes undetectable hormones in the form of a steroid cream. As is with AndroGel, the creams provided by BALCO were not strong enough to produce massive gains, but they were stronger than traditional creams, and more importantly undetectable. Of course, BALCO is no more, but there are still various creams available on the market. If you are an athlete who is looking for a little boost, you can easily find such a product on the market.

Years ago, my old "Doc" switched me from my trt shot to this gel. Within 6 months my levels were lower than when I was first put on trt. Still the doc wouldn't do anything but the gel. Thank goodness I was able to find a doc with a brain and got back on my shots.

Garbage! Stick to the shots. Never seen great efficacy from gels

So guess the wife has been getting in my med cabinet (she has a black mustache) :surprised lol
