Tricep Tendonitis

Thug Motivation

New member
Had this for 3 months. I'm basically done going to the Orthopedic since the next step would be surgery, already did Physical Therapy. I might start going to a Sports Orthopedic for an injection of some-sort. (my orthopedic was talking about a plasma type injection?) He said certainly not a cortisone shot.

Sharp pain back tip of elbow when pushing weight and some swelling. The only tricep exercise I can do is kickbacks. and I can barely do pushdowns. I certainly cant to any press compound exercises.:sport::upset:

Anyone here experience any type on injection for tricep tendonitis? Including IGF? My bro takes IGF, I was thinking 40mcg each arm every other day for a month?

Appreciate any help, thanks guys.

I've had cortisone shots many times and they only compound the problem. I've always just iced the shit out of my elbows and use IcyHot when I go to bench or do any kind of pressing movements. It's a pain in the ass to deal with, but I've not heard of any plasma shots or anything, it might work, but I've personally never heard of it

Next step is surgery?! What type of surgery might that be? You come on here every few months with reasons why you should be using steroids and IGF. It's been said 1000 times. You're the guy who picked up a baseball yesterday for the first time and today you want to be the starting pitcher for the Yankees.

This type of tendonitis can come on from doing skullcrushers with too much weight. You think you're handling the heavy weight well enough, but you really aren't. The best help for tendonitis in that area is to lay off exercising it for a couple of weeks to let it heal, then when you start exercising it again, go LIGHT. You may not be able to do the skullcrushers for a long while. I only do them now and then myself now, and only as a finisher type of exercise with light weight.

I may be wrong, but isn't tendonitis no more than overuse of the tendon under extreme circumstances such as using heavy weights? I never had a problem with tendonitis until I started powerlifting then it seemed like biceps tendonitis was murdering my elbow joints and biceps. I always thought it was simply from doing too much weight and overusing the tendons, so if that is indeed true, slack off on the skullcrushers and back off the weight AFTER a couple of weeks off like Saudades recommended

I have this horrible for years, the only thing that has helped me is ibuprofen prior to a workout and INZER sells elbow sleeves that have 3 velco straps, I wear them for any Pushing exercise and it helps the pain...

I cannot do skullcrushers at all and many other tricep exercises are out of the question...I may need surgery at this point myself...

In the meantime, I do use VOLTAREN cream on the site and that helps as well...

You are pretty young to opt for surgery, why not try some alternatives, rest it, ice it, IGF and see what happens, dont go too close to the elbow with the IGF because you may hit a nerve, trust me Ive done it

Hope this helps

some of you said take a few weeks off and come back light, I took 3 months off totally, then did Physical Therapy. And its still bothering me.

Im thinking about going to a sports orthopedic, check out if they have any injections other than cortisone.

I got mine from overusing the tendon. overtraining.

I tried that Voltaren but I got a skin reaction from it so I take Aleve prescription dose. and I use the forearm strap on both arms now. How often you use Voltaren?

with IGF. do I just apply to the tricep muscle? 20mcg each arm every other day?

I have used DMSO when I get tendonitis and it works. It was popular in the 70's & 80's. It has been used on horses since the 1930's. It's nickname is horse liniment. Available in most health food stores.

sorry I just wanted to make sure, I know I repeat a lot of things. 20mcg each tricep everyday. Which tricep head is ideal? Does it even matter?

Hopefully this will work after a month or so.

Hopefully order comes tomorrow...So I will be doing 20mcg each long head tricep everyday. For 50 days.

I still have tricep tendonitis and its been 5 months :nope: Its not teared or ruptured

Pain is right where tendon attaches to elbow. Should it be applied in around back tip of elbow right where tendon attaches? Or is it good enough to apply to the long head?

AND. Will this heal it? After cycle will I be able to bench like normal?:crap:

well do let us know how it goes after about a month. if this does indeed improve your condition i'd be amazed.

not because it's a long shot, but because if this stuff can indeed repair tissue damage in the way that it has reported to, we have ourselves quite a medical breakthrough unbeknownst to most the public. my amazement would stem from the culmination of reports, not simply yours.
