This post goes out to all the hardcore bodybuilders who use "supplements." Two of the major side effects of these "supps" is the unfavorable change in HDL/LDL and loss of Ca from bones. Both of these can affect calcification/hardening of arteries which can cause serious problems(ie heart attacks). The list of bodybuilders who have passed away or who had heart related conditions in too long to list. One supplement that should be a staple is Vitamin K2. K2 has been extensively studied and shown to reduce both calcification of arteries and death from heart disease. In a 7 year study showed a 57% reduction in death from heart disease. Another study showed a significant decrease in likeliness of heart attack and calcification. The dose studied was > 32.7mcg. K2 seems to interact with calcium-regulating proteins in bones to help spare Ca and prevent it from depositing on arteries. If you regularly take anabolics or prohormones, this is a supp definitely worth taking. It
