Morning everyone. I've been signed up for quite a while but never introduced myself simply because I was a once in a blue moon visitor. The board I currently frequent however has been turning into a drama bed between members and the owner. That gets old REALLY fast. If I wanted drama I would have stayed single.
I hit the big 50, but I've never stopped training. 5-6 days a week consistently. The one thing I know for sure, and sadly there really is only one thing I actually know for sure, there are a million ways to train but no matter what, consistency is the key to results. I've owned 6 gyms in my lifetime. I've had the opportunity to train and travel with many amazing pros including Tom Platz, Shawn Ray and Albert Beckles. They each did/do things their own way, but the one thing they have in common is consistency with their diet and their training. That, and they all think crossfit is a joke.
I'm a bit old school in life and in training, but that works for me. I've been part of BB forms going all the way back to BeachBoy and Redi Cat. Some boards been packed with information. Some have been more like family. Far too many have been filled with 175lb assholes and keyboard warriors giving advice. I've got nothing against 175lb guys mind you, but I do have a problem when they think they know everything there is about bodybuilding and using gear. Clearly their body tells a different story.
I stay at 200lbs. It works nicely for me and for my job. It's just big enough where people don't mess with you, and not so big that they categorize you as a dumb muscle-head in the business world.
Anyway... I've been looking for a new home where folks have been around for a long time. I'm really a more family dude than a guy seeking a board filled with people who act like they are wearing long white lab coats. From what I've seen this reminds me of a board I miss from long ago, where everyone had a great time and went out of their way to help each other, along with a healthy amount of friendly harassment.
If you don't mind, I'd like to stick around.
I think I started rambling, but that's my intro.
