Who eats fruit?

I like to eat alot of fruit. I dont see many bodybuilders writing that into their diets. I know vegies are great and some good protein in beans and pods, but what about fruit. The high sugar content in some fruit may cause a problem, but i have also heard that citrus fruits speed the metabolism. Just wanted to see who eats fruit and how much. If not...how come?

I eat a good amount of fruit, maybe 2-3 servings a day. I always put bananas into my shakes to make them taste better. Maybe grapefruit sometimes in the morning as well. I have never tried to cut though and from what I hear fruit is terrible if you are trying to cut down because of all the sugar like you said.
 
Sometimes I'll have fruit, maybe a couple times a week.


A Banana / Peanut butter sandwich
An apple for a snack
Toss some Blueberries in the blender with my protein shake


Not too often though
 
DUDE I love fruit! When Im craving sugar really really bad Ill tear up one of those softball sized granny smith apples. Funny how the only fruit I dont like is grapefruit. Im trying to loose some fat right now but I figured fruit is better than any other kind of sugar any day. OHHHHH how I wish I liked protein bars. The only bar I like is the Snickers Marathon Oats bar, its good but loaded with carbs and sugar. Ive tried detour, one way, joy ride, all of the chef jay bars, they make me sick. Not to derail the thread but are there any good bars out there that dont have that ass tasting layer of protein stuff on them that looks like cardboard?
 
I do fruits once in a while...but the same problems are too much sugar.....small amounts in hte morning are tollerable since you tend to burn them off rather quickly...but still not good at all if your trying to maintain lean mass or cutting...
 
What about peanut butter? How bad is the smuckers all natty peanut butter while leaning out? I can eat a whole jar of peanut butter in 10 mins if I wanted to. Does it do more harm than good? I can make a whole meal out of the peanut butter/celery combo.
 
I eat fruit after dinner a couple of times a week. It keeps me from craving other sugary stuff. There are lots of benefits to fresh fruit, even if there is sugar with it.
 
it's recommended that you eat at least 2-3 servings of fruits everyday,...but then again not alot of people can manage to do that on a daily basis, i eat an apple everyday and bananas with my shakes, oranges once in a while even though they are a good source of vit-C.
 
Right now on hand I have grapes, apples, bannanas, strawberry(frozen and unfrozen), blueberrys might be kinda soft by now though. Havent really eaten whole bunch lately, trying to loose fat.
 
The sugar in fruits is different than like a cane sugar. The sugar in fruit is all natural and is not nearly as bad for you as the sugars in like candy bars or anything like that. Fruit carries with it nutrients that will help you maintain a healthy diet, so I wouldn't hesitat to eat a few servings a day.
 
i eat about 2 servings a day. i will have a handful of raisins in my oatmeal for breakfast and mid day i will have a banana or some pineapple.
 
I'm a berry man myself, strawberries and rasberries are my favourite, but i don't eat alot of fruit. When bulking i'll eat as much as i want but no fruit when cutting, apples are nice i find they taste sooooooo good especially after downing a couple chocolate flavoured protein shakes, it's almost like your palate is more sensitive to the sweetness. Oranges I can't eat though, I'd get a migraine :angry:, pears, are good also though.
 
Yea I eat cottage cheese 2-3 times a day, most people look at me like i'm some freak when I sit there in the cafeteria eatin a plate full of it.

yeah you dont see many elementary school kids eating cottage cheese in the cafeteria, but your like the real life billy madison so i bet you dont see those kids do alot of things you do.

Grapes, strawberries, peaches, and mandarin oranges are my favorites. I also eat lots of cottage cheese. People also stare at me when I make a huge salad at Sizzler with lots cottage cheese in it, and I just have to laugh. :)
