I am nearing 50 and have many many cycles under my belt.
It has been a good 2 years since I have been on a cycle- father getting sick, house issues, work issues all played heavily on my life which postponed any time and resources to grow.
Finally, the smoke has cleared some, and I am once again consistent with training, eating, resting, work/life balance and ready to get back on the pony.
For me, I have very good results from #1 although I have also used option#2 with success as well.
