Flex Lewis and Strongman Eddie Hall Destroy Brutal Arm Workout & Share Physique Updates
Known for some of the biggest biceps and triceps the 212 division has seen, Flex Lewis joined strongman Eddie Hall for a vicious arm workout. During the YouTube collaboration, Lewis guided Hall through a four-exercise routine that focused on technique and proper form.
Having led a career lasting over a decade in the IFBB Pro League, Flex Lewis separated himself from his peers with shocking muscle volume and granite conditioning. Employing grit and sheer determination, Lewis would capture a total of seven 212 Olympia titles consecutively. He proved himself against some of the division’s top names, such as Derek Lunsford, Shaun Clarida, and Jose Raymond.
Even though Lewis has redirected his focus away from bodybuilding, he still loves the sport and what it stands for. He routinely shares unique and thought-provoking training tips and sessions online. Given the footprint he left on the 212 division, fans listen when Lewis has something to say regarding exercise.
Eddie Hall, on the other hand, is a famous strongman competitor who built his career having attained a number of accolades and records. Hall was the 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner and temporarily held the all-time world deadlifting record of 500 kilograms until his nemesis Hafthor Bjornsson broke it with 501 kilograms in 2020.
In their latest undertaking, Lewis and Hall joined hands for a demanding arm workout, where the former seven-time 212 Olympia offered the strongman legend pointers on growing the biceps/triceps.
Flex Lewis & Eddie Hall Arm Workout List
“I think we’re going to smash arms — biceps and triceps — I’ve actually not done an arms session in a bodybuilding format yet, so this will be a good one,” said Eddie Hall.
After pushing through multiple sets of cable triceps pushdowns, Lewis gave his thoughts on training with Hall.
“Whatever you go from there, you already got 3 or 400 reps and this is – fu** I don’t care who it is, I’ve trained with Brian Shaw, a lot of strongmen, it’s just a different style of training,” said Lewis.
Next, the duo moved on to incline dumbbell skull crushers.
“Try and get your neutral grip, and fire in a really good stretch, I come off my shoulders, but start off with the front delts but then gradually take it as far back as you can,” explained Lewis.
Flex and Eddie followed up the session with machine triceps extensions.
For their final movement, Lewis and Hall performed a few sets of dumbbell biceps curls, a common staple in most arm workouts.
“Well, what you’re trying to do is just neutral to the side, pinky up, pinky up as much as you can and squeeze and just think of cupping like you’ve got nothing there right now, you’re just trying to squeeze like a nut in between, squeeze that gap. You’re trying to squeeze that bicep as much as you can.”
“Power, hit the neutral button, come up, and squeeze and slow down on the descent,” added Lewis. “Turn that wrist [to maximize the contraction].”
“He’s put more size on me in 30 minutes than I would have in two hours, to be honest,” said Hall.
“He’s the only guy probably in 10 years plus to see my top off, am I right?” said Flex Lewis.
After the two pushed each other throughout the session, the pump covers came off, and Lewis still appears to be in fantastic shape despite retiring one year ago. In a special one-on-one sit down with Steve Kuclo, Lewis said he would only follow through with a competitive return for a seven-figure deal.
Meanwhile, Eddie Hall continues to train while creating YouTube content. The last time fans heard from ‘The Beast,’ he took part in a fun reaction video where he offered his two cents on a handful of crazy gym fails.
Given the latest collaboration, it’s safe to say Flex Lewis hasn’t completely shut the door on a possible return. As for Hall, he’s appreciative of the techniques Lewis shared because they differ from the methods he would often use in strongman.

Flex Lewis Shares Top 3 ‘Tried and Tested’ Movements for Better Triceps
Bodybuilding legend Flex Lewis continues to give back following a successful career in the IFBB Pro League. In a recent Instagram video, Lewis offered tips for building triceps with triceps pushdowns, seated pushdowns, and dumbbell skull crushers.
Lewis tested his talents as a Men’s 212 Bodybuilding competitor for over a decade. He rose to the top quickly, having earned the 212 Olympia title in 2012. He used his muscle detail and hardness as a weapon during his reign, which saw him earn a total of seven titles until 2018. While building his legacy, Lewis defeated mainstays in the category like Derek Lunsford, Kamal Elgargni, and Jose Raymond.
While he stopped competing following his final Olympia win, fans expected Lewis to switch to the Men’s Open class before calling it a career. There were rumors that he would receive a special invitation for the Mr. Olympia show, however, they never materialized. Last May, Lewis closed the door on his career once and for all and announced his retirement. Instead, Derek Lunsford received the special invite and earned second place in his Open debut at the 2022 Olympia.
While enjoying retirement, Lewis teased the possibility of competing in a recent Straight Outta the Lair podcast. Joined by Steve Kuclo, Lewis shared that a seven-figure price tag would lure him back on stage. In his latest undertaking, Lewis shared his go-to exercises for building sharper triceps.
Flex Lewis Shares How To Build Olympia-Level Triceps with Top 3 Favorite Movements
Lewis favors rope triceps pushdowns, seated pushdowns, and dumbbell skull crushers for building his triceps. He offered tips for each exercise which you can find below:
“This is my top three triceps movements: exercise number one, the tried and tested rope triceps pushdowns, I’m contracting the triceps at the very bottom as you can see I’m stretching it all out; controlling the weight past 90 degrees getting a full stretch at the top and getting a full stretch at the bottom. As I said, these are tried and tested these are better to grow the biceps.
I’m a big fan of mixing up reps with heavy weight as you can see on this second movement – with this second exercise the seated pushdown, I’ve changed my body to face the actual machine. As you can see here I’m pushing some serious weights along with some serious reps, try this along with some heavy reps next time.
Last of all is number three: the dumbbell skull crushers, I’m a big fan of these, I’ve been doing these since I was a teenager. If it’s not broke why fix it. Try these, the dumbbell skull crushers in your next workout,” Flex Lewis shared.
The 39-year-old has been open about life post-bodybuilding. He showed off his ripped physique in an update where he revealed major changes to his diet and training plan. At the time, Lewis was weighing 200 pounds and mentioned that his current goal was to pack on 10 or 15 pounds of muscle. To accomplish this objective, Lewis shared that he’s regularly consuming six meals daily.
Aside from ‘The Welsh Dragon,’ four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler also offers consistent training tips and techniques. The legend took to his YouTube channel in March to explain how he built an Olympia-caliber chest with just four exercises.
In retirement, Lewis continues to offer value to the bodybuilding community. Considering the muscle maturity and detail Flex Lewis displayed in his prime, fans can learn a lot from his technique breakdowns.

Flex Lewis Ready to End Retirement for ‘7-Figure’ Offer: “I’m All In”
Retired 212 Bodybuilding legend Flex Lewis raised some eyebrows during his recent interview with Steve Kuclo. In the latest Straight Outta the Lair podcast, Lewis teased a return to sport by laying out one condition: a seven-figure payday.
Building a career in the 2000s, Flex Lewis became the most dominant 212 Olympia champion of all time. Having attained his first title in 2012, Lewis’ hardness and grainy muscle maturity guided him to a total of seven 212 Olympia victories. His final title defense came in 2018, where he outlasted a crop of elite talents such as Derek Lunsford, Kamal Elgargni, and Jose Raymond.
Lewis, who has been enjoying retirement, has kept fans updated on his progress since stepping away from the sport. Showing off his physique post-bodybuilding, Lewis says his top priorities are health and wellness. However, in his latest admission to fans, it appears a comeback might be on the table as well.
Flex Lewis Says ‘7-Figure’ Payday Will Draw Him Out of Retirement: ‘If There’s a Monetary Draw, I’m All In’
According to Lewis, a seven-figure payday ($1M-9.9M) would entice him to compete as a bodybuilder in 2023.
“I don’t know if that’s something [Masters Olympia] that’s been thrown in your face. Obviously, my name has been thrown in the mix this year, and I said, ‘Eh!’ Let me dispel this right now, I’m on my own journey, it’s definitely back to the stage. I said this though, if there was a monetary draw for me – I’m all in. For me, it has to be a seven-figure monetary draw. It has to be because for me to walk away from what I’m doing right now… that’s what my sacrifice is, unfortunately,” said Flex Lewis.
Men’s Open standout Steve Kuclo credits Arnold Schwarzenegger for pushing bodybuilding into the mainstream but said no one has been able to ‘carry the torch’ to secure massive contracts/sponsorships worth seven figures.
“I truly with bodybuilding was as fruitful as many of the other sports in the world like golf and basketball and football. The contracts these guys are getting paid, it’s insane. You know. Yeah, backup quarterback [still gets paid] it doesn’t matter. It’s a shame that the sport never quite got to where it could be. I believe it’s had a lot of great – I mean Arnold was truly one of the greatest pioneers in our sport to take it to more of a public level,” said Steve Kuclo.
“Nobody was ever really able to carry the torch into the realm it could be to potentially be one of the sports that are getting huge contracts for sponsorships and stuff like that, where you’re able to win a show and it’s a seven-figure win for a show or you get seven-figure sponsorships because bodybuilding is if not, one of the hardest sports in the world because it’s 365 24/7 you’re always thinking about what you’re eating and what you’re training.”
While Lewis did not reveal any specific plans or offers for his comeback, he made it clear he’s not ruling out the possibility of stepping on stage again. Whether any promoter/sponsor is willing to meet his demand remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Flex Lewis’ passion for bodybuilding remains strong.

Flex Lewis Reveals Massive Physique Update on Only TRT
Flex Lewis reveals new physique update while only using TRT.
Seven-time 212 Olympia champion James “Flex” Lewis recently shared a physique update showcasing his current form on only TRT. The long reigning champion recently sent shockwaves through the bodybuilding world after announcing his retirement.
Despite no longer competing in professional bodybuilding, Flex Lewis is still looking stage ready. With his retirement Flex Lewis has also decided to switch things up in regards to what he puts in his body. No longer is he utilizing the typical gear that most bodybuilders put into their bodies to aid recovery. Now Lewis is only taking testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
Flex Lewis has chosen to do away with any kind of steroid use and only use TRT. This means a few things are likely to happen. Like Larry Wheels, Lewis will likely decrease in overall size and mass. This doesn’t mean his muscle will simply fade away, but it’s likely that he won’t be carrying near as much muscle as before. This may also lead to slight decreases in overall strength as well. But with that said, the benefits will far outweigh any perceived losses.
His retirement may have shocked the bodybuilding world, but when you think about the fact that so many bodybuilders have passing away at a young age, the decision appears sound. Flex Lewis would rather focus on his health and maintaining his physique in a healthier manner rather than risking any potential future damage to his body.
With that said, Flex Lewis is still looking pretty impressive in his recent physique update. In a lengthy post on social media, Lewis detailed a few things about his current status as well as his TRT regimen.
Update: September 21st 2022
Weight: 214lbs
Training: 3-4 times a week
No cardio – Weekend Hike
3x @megafitmeals – 1/2 home cooked meals
Health supplements @yamamotonutrition
TRT started Monday i have truly worked hard to get all my blood work all in line no fancy sponsors, or clinics to promote just a local Doctor that has been working with me since I retired.
I have Been working on my levels and certain health markers to come down, nothing crazy just things I wanted to see lower that only come with time, I am not gonna lie it has sucked but like eveyrhing it’s a mindset thing, the sacrifice has been on my testosterone and estrogen and that is why I now started a fixed and personalize protocol.
All transparency no BS this is my starting point and one I want to continue on with.
Anticipating the backlash, Flex Lewis already had a few words for the naysayers.
I know I’m gonna have some guys who are gonna say “BS” I ain’t claiming to be Mike Ohearn (mad props to Mike) I am saying that I’ve given my body a incredible break and but it’s time As I feel my body is not working optimally, and the numbers show it, but I do feel good not great, but now it’s time to aid my health not a enhance a look.
Flex Lewis also addressed the potential for a comeback. It appears that he’s given it thought and would return under certain conditions.
No competing anytime in the future before anyone in the comments asks for a come back! ?
I am healthy inside more than out with injuries as most know and documented. I mentioned in my last update July 23rd (see last post) I extended time off to make sure after 18yrs of competing I was all good and with a 4 month old and a 6yr old children I want to be on this earth longer.
It’s clear from this that we see the motivation for Flex Lewis to restrict his gear usage. With two young children he wishes to be around for as long as possible.
I wanted to keep everyone in the loop as promised. Believe me or not I don’t give to fucks. What have I got to gain in saying this more so get BS from it, BUT in honor of being true, honest and transparent for others to follow in doing this post. I keep covered up 98% of the time so I guess it’s me saying this is what is under it lol
Maybe I will start wearing more tanks now I am skinny Flex ?
Good news is more training footage to follow, along with podcasts (which I am truly enjoying) along with some new very exciting endeavors sprinkled in.
What do you think of Flex Lewis and his latest physique update?

Flex Lewis Shares Health & Physique Update Post Retirement
Flex Lewis revealed his new routine since his days on stage have ended.
In May, Flex Lewis decided to announce his retirement from professional bodybuilding. He made the announcement on his Straight Outta The Lair podcast and vowed to focus on his family and managing his gym. Just a few months after this announcement, it is clear that the legendary bodybuilder is still focused on his health and fitness.
Lewis won seven consecutive 212 Olympia titles beginning in 2012. He won other big shows, such as the 2014 Arnold Classic, over the course of his career as well. Lewis is known as the best 212 bodybuilder of all-time and he remains an influential voice in the sport.
On Sunday, Lewis decided to share a physique and health update to Instagram showing off his routine per week.

Flex Lewis Has Focused On His Health Post Retirement
Flex Lewis has always been known for his focus and dedication on stage. This helped him reach a championship level over the course of his career. Now that he is not competing anymore, it does not mean that Lewis has abandoned his lifestyle. In fact, he might be even more focused.
“Physique & Health UpdateMixing up cardio today Red Rock210lbsTraining 4 times a weekCardio 3-4 times a week3-4 meals a day”
There has been a recent string of deaths in bodybuilding that have hit the sport hard. This has made athletes focus on their heart health, including Lewis.
“Had all my blood work back today and I am beyond happy. Everything is in range or better ??–In a few weeks time I will start on some TRT the first time in 6 months if you want to believe that or not I don’t give two fucks. I have been training since 12 if my physique went to shit in 6 months being off I’ve been doing something terribly wrong in my 26yrs of training. Truth!”
During his time on stage, Flex Lewis was not one for many physique updates. Now that he has taken on a new journey as a podcast host, Lewis will venture into the social media game a bit more.
Lewis ended his post explaining that he will share more physique updates, along with different workout and diet videos.
“I’m gonna try to get better at doing some physique updates, and document the changes in the process along with more training and YouTube videos.#RedRock #PhysiqueUpdate #HealthUpdate #MrOlympia#FlexLewis #Bodybuilding“

Flex Lewis Reveals Downsized Physique at 213.6Lbs in Recent Update
Flex Lewis is looking a bit slimmer in retirement.
Former 212 Olympia kingpin James “Flex” Lewis is looking downsized in a recent physique update. The seven-time 212 Olympia champion revealed his current form and weight in recent post on his social media.
It appears that Flex Lewis has eased into his retirement nicely as he shows off a trimmed down physique. The veteran bodybuilder recently showcased his physique on Instagram, showing a slightly trimmed down figure. While he still possesses a considerable amount of muscle on his frame, we can see that flex Lewis isn’t as massive as we’ve seen him in recent years.
Ever since announcing his retirement, most bodybuilding fans knew that Flex Lewis would be losing some weight. After all, there is no point in keeping all that massive muscle on your frame if you’re not going to be competing. As such, we see that flex Lewis is still in great shape orbit, slightly downsized from what he would usually be in the height of offseason training camp.
A Trimmed Down Physique
When asked by fans to showcase his most recent physique, Flex Lewis posted an update on his Instagram story. In the photo we see the former 212 king poolside, shirtless and looking ripped as ever, albeit not as bulky as we’re used to seeing him.
Flex Lewis also revealed his current weight. While he may have competed in the 212 division, he would have to cut down to the category from a much higher weight. Now the retired Louis is walking around at a slimmer 213.6lbs
While fans will never see Flex Lewis step onto a Men’s Open Bodybuilding stage, this was likely the best and smartest move for the veteran. With seven straight 212 Olympia wins under his belt, Lewis has nothing to prove. He already established himself as the best of the best. Any further glory would simply be for bragging rights or ego. When we consider the many young bodybuilders passing away on time link these days, Lewis’ decision to retire while he was still at the height of his powers was perhaps the smartest move he could have made.
As an entrepreneur and family man retirement was the best option for Flex Lewis, and he appears to be enjoying his time off the stage.

Flex Lewis Leads Dan Bilzerian Through Big-Time Shoulder Workout
Dan Bilzerian decided to join the bodybuilding legend Flex Lewis at his own personal gym.
Flex Lewis is known as one of the top bodybuilders of all-time and overall best in the 212 division. Despite his recent retirement, Lewis will remain active in the fitness industry. Lewis was joined by Dan Bilzerian at his Dragon’s Lair gym for a killer shoulder workout.
Lewis won seven consecutive Olympia titles in 212. He did not compete at the 2020 or 2021 show despite receiving a special invitation. There was rumors of his return in 2022 but Lewis would have had to qualify for the show. On the first episode of his Straight Outta The Lair podcast, Lewis announced that he would be retiring from the sport.
Of course, one of the best talents of all-time will continue to run his gym and train others. Bilzerian was on the list. Known as Mr. Instagram, Bilzerian has built a huge following because of his wild lifestyle. Bilzerian is now trying his hand in Hollywood appearing in films such as Extraction and The Equalizer.
Flex Lewis, Dan Bilzerian Shoulder Workout
Dan Bilzerian has displayed a shredded physique on social media on many occasions. Here, Flex Lewis led him through a shoulder workout that will build size. The exact amount of sets and reps were not displayed throughout the video.
The duo began by hitting a lateral raise machine. This is where they focused on keeping their arms fully extended to hit the shoulder muscles hard.
“So today, we got the man, the myth, the legend [Dan Bilzerian], jumping in on shoulders. He’s going to teach me one or two things.” Lewis said.

The workout continues with more lateral raises. This time, they are seated with dumbbells. Flex Lewis pushes Bilzerian through these sets as they are one of the most important shoulder workouts.
The workout finishes up with cable crossovers to hit the back of the shoulders. Lewis has certainly remained busy since announcing his retirement and this includes training some of the top competitors in the world.
Flex Lewis was recently joined by Rafael Brandao for a workout before his victory at the 2022 Arnold Classic South America. It is clear that Lewis has plenty of knowledge about weightlifting and this is where many can learn. Dan Bilzerian is clearly interested in fitness and decided to soak up whatever he could.

Around the 22-minute mark of the podcast, which was shared to his YouTube page, Lewis begins talking about the future and explains how it is time for him to make this decision.
“I’ve kind of thought about many ways on how I want to deliver this because it is something I have done since I was 19. There’s no real easy way to say this but it’s time.
Bodybuilding has served me very well. It has opened some amazing doors for me but it is time for me to hang up my posing trunks. It has been an amazing road. One I am very blessed to say that I have accomplished more, more things than I ever thought imagined.”

“Without getting emotional, you kind of know. I know. This is a decision that I made myself…It was my decision and everybody has supported it. There’s multiple reasons why I’m at this place.”
Flex Lewis continues to discuss his decision and says he wants to be present for his family. Flex and Ali welcomed their second child to the world last week. Lewis wants to be around his family more moving forward.
“My son is on the way and I really want to be present. I really want to be present. My daughter is six years old right now. I’ve lost a lot of years of her life being on the road, traveling, putting bodybuilding first. There’s no way around it. Bodybuilding was first on many, many occasions. I just want to be there for the birth and I just don’t want to have to look at the clock and eat meals and run off to the gym.”
