Hunter Labrada gave a recent physique update in preparation for the Olympia.
Hunter Labrada wants to put on a better show than he did during his first Olympia in 2020. He placed eighth in Men’s Open and by the looks of his social media, Labrada can be a big-time force heading into the event.
The 20201 Olympia will take place from Oct. 7-10 in Orlando. Labrada gained qualification by winning the Chicago Pro. About four weeks away from the biggest event of the year, Labrada seems to be in competition shape and it looking massive in a recent physique update on his Instagram page.
“4 weeks out from the ⭕️!–Big changes this week! Really happy with how I’m tightening up with my weight holding!–Last weeks fasted weight: 261lbs

Hunter Labrada is no stranger to bodybuilding. This is a sport that has been in his family for years. Lee Labrada, Hunter’s father, placed top three in the Olympia four times during his career. Now, his son is looking to stay on that path and make some noise on the biggest stage.
Labrada also took the time to lay out his process in the gym and with his diet with just under a month before the Olympia.
“Nutrition: changed enough this week I’m going to run what I’ve got for another 2-3 days and go from there! Ate a bit yesterday to fill out for my guest posing, and my body absolutely blasted through all the extra food. Metabolism is definitely turnt!–Training: this past week was the first week I started to feel a little brittle? things are starting to dry out, and it’s time to be smart! Notice I didn’t say back off! Intensity will stay sky high??–Cardio: 25 min fasted in the morning, 20 min fasted at night, with my hr between 130-150 the whole time.”
Hunter Labrada has been a pro since winning the 2018 NPC Nationals. He did not lose a competition as an amateur and was victorious in his pro debut at the 2020 Tampa Pro.
Heading into the Olympia, Labrada knows that he will have to go up against some of the best in the world. 2020 Olympia champion Big Ramy and 2019 champ Brandon Curry are all set to compete once again.
Labrada has the muscle mass and definition needed to compete and perform well at the Olympia. With just under a month left, he will be in the final stretch of preparation for the biggest event of the year.

Regan Grimes Gives Physique Update Ahead Of 2021 Olympia
Regan Grimes is looking massive as we approach the biggest competition of the year.
Regan Grimes made the transition from Classic Physique to Men’s Open and has been an intriguing competitor ever since. He has not been able to make a huge impact just yet but that could change as we approach the 2021 Olympia.
Grimes has always had an incredible physique but he seemed to be a bit undersized for Men’s Open. That could be changing and Grimes is not shy about showing off his progress. The Canadian bodybuilder recently showed his recent progress ahead of the biggest competition of the year.
“ITS A HIGH DAY!▪️30 Mins Fasted CardioMeal 12 Whole Eggs + 5oz Chicken130g Oatmeal + 1 Cup BlueberriesMeal 2 [ Pre-Workout ]6oz Chicken + 400g Rice + Banana–Finishing up my Hamstring & Glute workout thought I would hit some poses and see how we are looking!”
“Post workout will be another 150g carbs & 100g with meals 4,5,6! ? It’s a good day! Tomorrow morning update with coach @dorian_hamilton should be our best look yet! Excited for the weeks to come leading into the @mrolympiallc ?? @gatsupplements#TeamGat“
Regan Grimes has put on visible mass. He included his workout and a meal in his caption along with recent poses from the front and side. Grimes mentioned the Olympia so it is clear that his sights are set on a better performance in 2021.
Last year, Grimes finished 15th at the Olympia. This was his first appearance in the Men’s Open division. He finished eighth at the 2018 Olympia in the Classic Physique division. This was also his final competition before making the transition.
Grimes has four top-three finishes since joining Men’s Open. This includes a win at the 2020 Romania Muscle Fest Pro. This is one of the reasons that Grimes has been a dark-horse prospect since coming to Men’s Open.
There is no doubt that Regan Grimes is ready for a stronger performances on stage this year. The Olympia will take place from Oct. 7-10 in Orlando. Grimes will have a chance to compete against some of the top athletes in the world and by the looks of his progress, Grimes is ready to make some noise.

Talking Huge With Craig Golias | EP 14: Will The Recent Bodybuilder Arrest Strike Fear In The Sport?
[embedded content]
Craig Golias reacts to the recent shocking pro bodybuilder arrest and how it might affect the sport moving forward.
Welcome to another episode of Talking Huge – a weekly digital series in which Craig Golias talks in-depth with Vlad Yudin on the latest trending topics in bodybuilding. Raw, honest, and uncut – Craig Golias shares his opinions on all things bodybuilding. In this episode, Craig Golias reacts to the high profile pro bodybuilding arrest, talks about the importance of rest in bodybuilding, and how to avoid bloating on a bodybuilder diet.
Just hours before hopping on to record Talking Huge, breaking news shook the bodybuilding world. A pro bodybuilder was arrested for alleged possession of steroids. Suddenly, a part of our planned conversation was shifted. The news spread fast and brought up a lot of questions. Vlad wanted to know what Craig Golias’ thoughts were on the still developing story. This topic takes up a large chunk of our recent episode conversation. But we also cover some listener questions such as how to avoid bloating, Craig’s body measurements, and more. Let’s jump right into it.
Will The Recent Pro Bodybuilding Arrest Strike Fear Into The Industry?
It’s an unwritten reality that steroid use in pro bodybuilding exists. In order to reach the freak factor massive size while also holding shredded conditioning – bodybuilders often rely on steroids and other PEDs. This, of course, is illegal under US law. But in reality, it’s often rare for a bodybuilder to actually be accused and arrested for possession of steroids.
So it came as a shock when a pro bodybuilder was arrested for just that. A shipment of “controlled substances” was shipped from Canada to Miami, Florida. The authorities caught on, tracked the package, and arrested the bodybuilder upon the package being accepted and opened.
The news spread fast throughout the bodybuilding industry. Will this arrest be an early sign of more to come? Should competitors who use PEDs be worried about getting caught? Will this shocking news story change the way the industry works? At least for a short term period?
Craig Golias isn’t too worried. In fact, he thinks most pro bodybuilders understand the safety precautions to take so that they won’t get caught. The fact that controlled substances were shipped internationally was the first red flag. Most bodybuilders know not to ship drugs internationally like that.
Craig Golias also hopes that the pro bodybuilder in question gets off with very few convictions. Craig believes that the serious arrests happen for those who are creating and selling steroids. Users often get off easy. At least, that’s what Craig believes to be true.
At the time of this episode’s release – a lot is still unknown and the story is still developing. Craig Golias is no expert (nor does he claim to be). This episode is purely his raw gut reaction to the news mere hours after it was announced.
Craig Golias Answers: How To Avoid Bloating In Bodybuilding
Craig Golias also touches upon the topic of bloating in bodybuilding. Does he ever suffer from bloating? And how does he deal with it. The unfortunately reality is that most bodybuilders have to deal with bloating. A bodybuilder diet, especially while bulking, requires a massive influx of food. This more often than not causes bloating.
So what does Craig Golias due to relieve the uncomfortable pressure of bloating? Craig often drinks a lot of water. It might feel worse at first but helps flush the bloating. Beyond that, he simply lives with it. It’s unavoidable as a bodybuilder. He makes sure to simply give himself a few hours between eating and actually training – so that he’s more comfortable while in the gym.
Wrap Up
There are far more topics discussed in this episode than we can cover in this article. Craig Golias also talks about the proper amount of sleep a bodybuilder should have per day, his body size measurements, and more! You can check it all out in the latest episode of Talking Huge above! The Arnold Sports Festival will be providing a free webcast for those who cannot be there. The prejudging webcast begins at 10 A.M. and the finals webcast will begin at 6:30 P.M. The commentators are unknown at this time but it is likely that Arnold Schwarzenegger and 2017 Arnold Classic Champion Cedric McMillan will be involved — whether it is on commentary or on stage.
The 2021 Arnold Classic will feature four divisions. This is a condensed version of the show that was pushed back because of COVID-19. The 2020 show featured eight divisions. In 2021, expect some of the top competitors from Men’s Open, Classic Physique, Bikini, and Fitness to be present.
Below, you can find the full list of competitors along with the biggest names to keep an eye on once the event begins.
2021 Arnold Classic: Athletes To Watch
Men’s Open
William Bonac is the clear name to watch heading into Columbus. He is the reigning champion after winning his second Arnold Classic in 2020 — 2018 was his first victory. Bonac has competed in every Olympia since 2014 with a second-place finish in 2019. The lineup is missing two big names with McMillan withdrawing with an injury and Lionel Beyeke dealing with travel restrictions.
Bonac will have to deal with the likes of Iain Valliere and Steve Kuclo. Valliere has been dynamic in 2021 so far with victories at the Tampa Pro and Texas Pro in consecutive weekends. He has been training heavy in the gym but has been able to keep his incredible physique in competition shape. Kuclo, who finished second to Valliere in the Texas Pro, will enter with experience at the Arnold Classic and with six Olympia appearances under his belt.
Akim Williams and Hassan Mostafa are other impact performers. Williams picked up a victory and Olympia qualification during the Puerto Rico Pro. Mostafa is currently second in the points standings with an eye on the biggest competition of the year.

Classic Physique
Alex Cambronero is one of the returning champs from the 2020 Arnold Classic. He has a chance to be the first repeat champion in the Classic Physique division here in 2021. Cambronero switched to Classic Physique from 212 after a successful run in that division. Cambronero finished fourth in last year’s Olympia.
One of the competitors who bested Cambronero at the 2020 Olympia was Terrence Ruffin. He finished second to Chris Bumstead. Ruffin finished second to Cambronero at the Arnold Classic last season so this storyline is one to keep an eye on heading into the event. Courage Opara is a dark-horse contender for the title this year after finishing in the top three in each of the last two years.

Deontrai Campbell
Jarek Crew
Logan Franklin
Bryan Jones

Bikini
Elisa Pecini has been a force in the Bikini division for years now. She is coming off a victory at the 2020 Arnold Classic and 2019 Olympia Bikini. She finished sixth at the Olympia last year but will look to return to dominance. Jennifer Dorie seems to be her biggest competition, along with Lauralie Chapados. Dorie finished second at the 2020 Olympia and Chapados won the Chicago Pro this year.
Ashley Kaltwasser and Breena Martinez have both been on stage this season which will help moving forward. The Bikini division is extremely competitive and that makes for an entertaining show in Columbus.

Lauralie Chapados
Jennifer Dorie
Jasmine Gonzalez
Ashley Kaltwasser
Jourdanne Lee
Priscilla Leimbacher

Grishina has totaled 13 victories from 2011-2017 before taking some time off. Jones finished third in the Olympia and won the 2018 and 2019 Mr. Olympia and 2018 Figure International competition. Larry Wheels Suffers Quad Injury During Training Session
Larry Wheels appeared to tear his quad during a heavy squat session.
Larry Wheels has been putting up eye-popping numbers in the gym since returning to powerlifting. This has come in the form of overhead press, squats, and much more. On Thursday, Wheels shared a video where he appeared to suffer a quad injury during an extremely heavy squat.
At a bodyweight of 285 pounds, Wheels was attempting a squat that seemed to be in the ballpark of 900 pounds. After going down in a controlled manner, Wheels ran into a problem on the way up and dropped the weight off his back.
“Everything was going great until I ripped my quad in half ?Another day in the office!@teampersonalrecord“
Larry Wheels had to dump the weight off his back after bucking on the way up. The barbell was caught by the suspension straps. The injury came nine days after Wheels posted a video of his heaviest squat ever at 950 pounds.
Wheels came into the training session with an injury to his quad but it was unknown at the time. It is also unclear when the injury actually occurred. Wheels was scheduled to compete at the Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate (RPS) Long Island Insurextion in Farmingdale, NY on Sept. 11, 2021, but he does not appear on the results’ page for the event.
Larry Wheels currently holds two world records in the 140-kg division. These are a 292.5 kilograms (644.9lb) bench press and a total of 1,075 kilograms (2,370lb).
Wheels spent some time testing the waters of arm wrestling and took on some of the best competitors in the world. He has since returned to the powerlifting game and is back to moving incredible amounts of weight. After this injury, Wheels believed it will take 10 to 14 days to heal before he can begin training.

Ryan Terry Answers: Is Men’s Physique Muscle Mass Getting Too Big?
[embedded content]
Ryan Terry reflects on the evolution of Men’s Physique since its inception and whether or not athletes are becoming too big.
Ryan Terry is a Men’s Physique competitor who has been competing for quite some time. So he’s been able to witness the evolution of physiques within the division throughout the past decade. If you were to look at Men’s Physique in 2013 and compare it today – the muscle mass on the athletes has grown significantly. It almost looks like a different division. In our latest GI Exclusive interview, Ryan Terry weighs in on whether or not Men’s Physique muscle mass has gotten too big.
Whenever a new division is added into pro bodybuilding, there is a transition stage as the athletes and judges determine what the “perfect champion” looks like for the category. During this time, the sport evolves, the physiques change, and eventually the division settles into its own very unique look. During our recent interview with Ryan Terry, we asked him to look back at the inception of Men’s Physique and compare it to how physiques look today.
Ryan Terry admitted that the physiques are much larger than they used to be. He attributes this to athletes trying to continually push the envelope and one up each other. With each year, athletes will try to improve. How do they do that? By becoming more conditioned and building more mass to get a slight edge. It’s small – but over many years it slowly changed the division.
Ryan Terry actually thinks that the size has become so much larger – that it would be possible for a Classic Physique competitor to drop down into Men’s Physique if they don’t meet the height to weight requirements in Classic. This might not have happened, Terry admits, but the fact that it may be possible is worrying to him for the Men’s Physique division. Where is the line drawn? How much bigger will these athletes get?
Ultimately, Ryan Terry doesn’t have an answer. But he’s keenly aware of what is taking place and constantly trying to reevaluate his physique for success. He doesn’t want to become too large – but he wants to win. This is part of his challenge when going up against athletes like the current Olympia champion Brandon Hendrickson. Terry and Hendrickson’s physique are very structurally different. This poses a challenge for Terry – but he’s not worried. He keeps his eye on how the division is changing, how Hendrickson is changing, and is putting in steps to upgrade and become a champion himself.
You can watch Ryan Terry go into full detail about the growth of Men’s Physique and his tactic for taking on Brandon Hendrickson in our latest GI Exclusive interview segment above!
Former Mr. India Manoj Patil Attempted Suicide, Mentioned Harassment By Sahil Khan In Letter
Manoj Patil is in stable condition after attempting to take his own life.
Former Mr. India and professional bodybuilder Manoj Patil attempted to take his own life on Wednesday in his Mumbai residence. Patil consumed a large amount of pills and was rushed to Cooper Hospital. His manager says the incident took place around 12:30 am.
Patil previously filed a complaint against actor Sahil Khan after alleging he was being harassed. Khan was also mentioned in Patil’s suicide note. Patil is in stable condition after consuming sleeping pills.
Manoj Patil and Sahil Khan have had a recent feud over social media. Both sides have posted about the other in recent days. Patil posted a video four days ago where he is calling Khan fake and it was followed up yesterday day by a mockery video made by Khan.
Patil has earned his Pro Card in IFBB and has represented India on stage at many international competitions. Patil has competed in the Mr. Olympia amateur four times, Mr. Asia once, and the Sheru Classic — where he was the Men’s Physique winner in 2019. This is where Patil was able to earn his Pro card.
Sahil Khan held a press conference on Thursday to address the issue and said that the main problem is not between himself and Patil.
“No one wants to talk about the real issue, but everyone is reporting that a person committed suicide because of Sahil Khan,” Khan said.
“First of all, committing suicide is a crime in India. Manoj should understand that. Raj has transaction receipts of Rs 2 lakhs with Manoj’s name mentioned on it and not mine. If I come and sell drugs outside your house and if you put that up on social media, would I be able to say that you are bullying me?”
Khan continued by saying that the feud was between Patil and Raj Faujdar. He does not have an issue with Manoj Patil.
“Nothing like that,” Khan said. “Manoj used to work for our company as an influencer. So there is nothing personal against him. Why was there no mention in Manoj’s suicide note that ‘Raj Faujdar contacted Sahil Khan and the actor shared his story on social media and that is the reason I’m doing this’.”
“Our lawyers are working on the situation now and we will file a complaint. This is a big racket, the FDI might also be involved in this. Those who are manufacturing fake supplements should be punished. And if I have committed a crime, then I should get punished too.”

Victor Martinez Answers: Why He Left MHP And Started SuperHero Labz
[embedded content]
Victor Martinez opens up about staying off the competitive stage and focusing on his new supplement company SuperHero Labz.
Earlier in August 2021, Victor Martinez announced that he was leaving supplement company MHP after a long tenure as a sponsored athlete. The reason was to start his own supplement company – SuperHero Labz. We had a chance to reconnect with Martinez via video chat to go into detail about why he made this big change and what to expect from his new business endeavor. In our GI Exclusive interview, Victor Martinez explains why he left MHP and the mission statement for SuperHero Labz in an already oversaturated supplement market.
Victor Martinez had been a sponsored athlete for supplement company MHP for quite some time. So it came as a shock in the industry when it was announced he was leaving the company to start his own supplement business. His new company, SuperHero Labz, combines his love of superheroes (which inspired him to become a bodybuilder) with his fitness experience to make a series of quality products. We reconnected with Martinez to discuss what sparked such a sudden change and how he plans to overcome the oversaturated supplement industry.
Victor Martinez starts off by explaining he has no ill will towards MHP. He respects and appreciates his entire time working with them – but he felt now was the correct time to become the leader of his own business. The decision initially sprang from getting a pay decrease via MHP. Again, he does not hold this against them. In fact, he claims almost any other company would have completely dropped him. But due to loyalty they kept him on board.
Victor Martinez also doesn’t plan to compete in pro bodybuilding again anytime soon. This is largely due to being a father and wanting to dedicate time to his family. He points out that pro bodybuilding isn’t like other pro sports where you get paid for simply being on the team. You only get paid if you win – and he doesn’t feel prepared to fully focus on that while dedicating time to his family.
It was at this moment the stars aligned. He had been speaking with potential business partners on starting a supplement company. He pulled the trigger and SuperHero Labz was born. The artwork showcases the pop imagery of old school superhero comics. But Martinez wanted to ensure he wasn’t just showing fictional superhero characters on the bottles. Instead, he wanted to focus on the real world superheroes – hard working mothers, fathers, businessmen, fire fighters – and many other hard working individuals.
Victor Martinez points out that supplements are to help improve the body, make it stronger, and achieve goals. That’s the kind of superhero logic he’s infusing into the brand. Those whose who want to work hard, make a difference, and support families. SuperHero Labz supplements aim to help with those kind of goals through their products.
Even though Victor Martinez may not plan to compete anytime soon, you may notice his physique is still large and impressive. That’s because he wants to make sure that his products via SuperHero Labz are the right quality. He maintains his physique and uses the products he helps develop to ensure they are the best for bodybuilders and fitness athletes.
You can watch Victor Martinez go into more detail about his plan for supplement rollouts, how he aims to make them the best products on the market, and more in our latest GI Exclusive interview segment above.
You can also check out SuperHero Labz at their official website right here.
Jake Paul Calls Out Dana White And Sends Offer To Fight Jorge Masvidal
Jake Paul is at it again attempting to plan his next fight.
Not long after Jake Paul defeated Tyron Woodley by decision, the YouTube star turned boxer is planning his next fight — and he called out UFC president Dana White to send him an offer.
Paul does not have his sights set on Anderson Silva, instead he wants to make a fight with Jorge Masvidal happen next. Paul is a huge social media presence and took to Twitter to send out the initial request.
. @danawhite why you so scared to get embarrassed? pic.twitter.com/xehnZaDva4
— Jake Paul (@jakepaul) September 15, 2021
Jake Paul moved to 4-0 with his victory over Woodley. Other wins include the likes of NBA player Nate Robinson and UFC fighter Ben Askren. It seems as though Paul is interested in taking his competition up a notch and even gave White a little wager to think over.
“If we win, you let any of your fighters fight me going forward. If we lose, I leave you and your exploitive business alone. Dana … Dana … Dana…?”
This is not the first time Paul has called out someone from the UFC and it is likely not the last — especially if White does not respond. Paul has openly criticized the boxing ability of MMA fighters and wants to expose them on the biggest stage.
Jake Paul was not only vocal on Twitter, he posted a video on his Most Valuable Promotions Instagram page with another message.
Paul offered another fight between Amanda Serrano and Amanda Nunes as well. Serrano was part of the main card when Paul took on Woodley. She defeated Yamileth Mercado by unanimous decision. Now, Paul is suggesting that she take on Nunes, who has a history with him. Nunes jokingly offered to fight Paul when he was trying to book a bout with Conor McGregor.
Jake Paul has not booked his next fight just yet but he is certainly aggressive in attempts. He has even mentioned that he could be back in the ring before the end of 2021. We will have to wait and see if White approves his request. It seems unlikely, especially after White offered Silva, but we have seen that anything is possible.

John Haack Sets New Raw PR With Huge 350kg Squat
John Haack is continuing to put up eye-opening numbers during training sessions.
John Haack has been putting up some huge numbers in recent training sessions. He is preparing for the 2021 World Raw Powerlifting Federation Showdown, which will take place on Sept. 25-26 in Kansas City, and doing it in a big way.
Haack will be one of the biggest names competing in the 90kg division and by the looks of his Instagram page, he will be a huge force. On Saturday, Haack shared a video of a 350kg (771.6) raw squat — which was a new personal record.
“350kgs/771lbs feeling comfyCouldn’t rock the headband and not hit a PB. Last heavy squat before showdown moving juuuuuiiiiicccccyyyyy”
By the looks of this lift, it looks as though Haack might have had a little left in the tank. This is a good sign heading into competition. Haack mentioned that this was the final heavy squat before the event — and that he had to do something special with the headband he had one.
Other than that headband, Haack had just a lifting belt and wrist straps on as support. There was even a lack of knee sleeves. This 350kg squat would be the third-heaviest ever done in competition at the 90kg division. Haack did not share his bodyweight at the time of the list but less than two weeks out, he has to be close to competition weight.
John Haack currently holds the world record bench press of 262.5 kilograms (578.7lb) at the 90kg division. He also holds the second heaviest deadlift ever of 385 kilograms (848.9 pounds). This record is held by Calier Woolam at 400kg (881.9lb). To add some more achievements, Haack is also second to current world record total of 970 kilograms (2,138.9lb).
Haack failed on two attempts of a 400kg deadlift at the 2021 Kern US Open. If he had converted either of the two lifts, he would not only have tied the world record, but he would have become the first 90kg competitor to ever total 1,000kg (2,204.6lb).
It looks like Haack will have both numbers on his mind heading into competition. At the end of August, he achieved a new PR with a 405kg deadlift. There is no doubt that there are two world records on Haack’s mind just 10 days out of his next event.
