Tom Stoltman To Miss 2021 Europe’s Strongest Man
Tom Stoltman will miss the competition because of complications with COVID-19.
Tom Stoltman has become a true force in powerlifting. He won the World’s Strongest Man competition earlier in the year and had a chance to show what he can do on another big stage. It was recently announced that Stoltman will miss some time because of COVID-19.
Stoltman has a YouTube page with his brother, Luke, and this is where he shared the announcement that he will no longer take part in the 2021 Europe’s Strongest Man competition. He has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be forced to miss some time competing.
“I got COVID yesterday, so on Thursday. I’ve now got it, Thursday night. So for safety I will not be competing during the weekend. I feel like for me, it’s just a cold,” Tom Stoltman said.
“We’re going to try and stay safe, and then we’re going to be there in Scotland. I have to quarantine until Wednesday or Thursday next week, so I still have a lot of time to train for Scotland. For me, it’s beneficial because I didn’t have the best prep for Europe’s anyway… Sorry that I won’t be there. It’s out of my hands.”
This would have been Stoltman’s first competition since the World’s Strongest Man. There has been a lot of anticipation for his return but fans will have to wait a little longer.
Stolman was supposed to compete during the 2021 Shaw Classic but was one of five competitors to bow out — this includes his brother, Luke. Trey Mitchell ended up coming out on top in the event. He beat out some of the top competitors in the world and it is likely that Stoltman would have been near the top.
Tom Stoltman will not have his sites set on Scotland’s Strngest Man competition. This will take place on Sept. 19. This gives Scottish lifter plenty of time to recover from the virus and get back to where he needs to be to win an event.
While it is a shame that Stoltman will miss the upcoming event, he will be a main factor moving forward. There is no doubt that he will continue to be one of the major competitors in the world.

Trey Mitchell Wins 2021 Shaw Classic
Trey Mitchell won the second-annual event. Here are the full results.
The 2021 Shaw Classic took place from Aug. 27-28 in Estes Park, CO. Some of the best powerlifters in the world gathered to see if they can dethrone the event’s promoter Brian Shaw, who took home the title in the inaugural event last year. This time around, it was Trey Mitchell who was able to come out on top.
Shaw ended up finishing second with J.F. Caron placing third. The full results were announced on Friday through a video on Shaw’s YouTube page. Even though he finished second, Shaw did not accept any money and he distributed it among the other 15 competitors.
The Shaw Classic was missing some elite names but it was still a noteworthy event. Luke Richardson had to withdraw due to a bicep injury. Tom Stoltman and Luke Stoltman also pulled their names out weeks before the event. Finally, Robert Oberst and Oleksii Novikov were the latest to withdraw from the event.
The contest was completed on Aug. 28 and the competitors split a prize pool of $100,000. Below, you can find the final overall standings along with the money won by each athlete.

In the end, it was Mitchell who was able to come out on top at the end. He excelled in the max log press when he completed a 206.3kg (455lb) lift. Mitchell also came in second with six reps in the circus dumbbell for reps.

Hadi Choopan Has Arrived In America To Compete In 2021 Olympia
Hadi Choopan will be back on stage for the year’s biggest competition.
Hadi Choopan has struggled with getting into the United States over the years to compete at the biggest competitions. That will not be an issue this year as Choopan has arrived with about six weeks left to prepare for the 2021 Olympia.
This was an issue last year. The Iranian bodybuilder arrived at the last minute to compete in the Olympia and placed fourth. There were worries that he would not make it at all but he arrived just in time. This year, Choopan will have plenty of time to do any necessary preparation and training leading up to the event.
Hany Rambod, a bodybuilding coach who has worked with some of the biggest names in the sport, announced Choopan’s arrival on his Instagram page.
“@hadi_choopan has Landed in the USA ?? to prepare for the 2021 @mrolympiallc !!!Thank you to our amazing team @hadiparsafar @parsafar_mahdi and @ad_supplements in the UAE without them this wouldn’t be possible! I couldn’t have asked for a better team! ????Now let the MF games begin!!!! ???”
Rodman has trained many top athletes and has been quite successful. He is a 19-time Olympia winning coach — including seven with legendary bodybuilder Phil Heath. Rodman will look to get another with Hadi Choopan, who has fared well in the competition in recent years.
Choopan has not been able to compete on stage since last year’s Olympia. He qualified this year by placing fourth in last year’s event. Despite being offstage for long, Choopan seems to be in incredible shape. This is no surprise as Choopan has placed well in recent years. This includes a third-place finish during the 2019 Olympia.
Hadi Choopan also took to Instagram to announce that he is here and will be ready to compete with the time comes.
“I would like to thank US authority in immigration and citizenship and specially thanks to us consulate @usainuae in dubai which facilitated and grante me a us entry permission in a proper time.
Thanks to my dearest brother and coach @hanyrambod and his family plus my sponsor @evogennutritionthat, like alwayes helped me to obtain my visa and get to USA and in addition, they will care about me in all aspects in this historical journey
Thanks to my brother Mr Saif for their hospitality and support in UAE @ad_supplementsAlwayes appriciated
We are here to make a new history let see…”
It will be interesting to See how Hadi Choopan performs with time to prepare for the event. If social media is any indication, he seems to be excited and ready to compete in Orlando.

Talking Huge With Craig Golias | EP 12: Which Celebrity Should Become A Bodybuilder?
[embedded content]
Craig Golias answers: Which celebrity would be the most entertaining to transform into a bodybuilder?
Welcome to another episode of Talking Huge – a weekly digital series in which Craig Golias talks in-depth with Vlad Yudin on the latest trending topics in bodybuilding. Raw, honest, and uncut – Craig Golias shares his opinions on all things bodybuilding. In this episode, Craig Golias muses about celebrities becoming bodybuilders, shares tips on drop sets, and the artistry of social media collabs.
This past week saw a big celebrity boxing match in the form of Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley. It was yet another exhibition match of many where an influencer or celebrity turns to the boxing ring for a big pay day. While Craig Golias did not see the fight – he did hear that there were claims the fight was fixed. It also caused him to ask the question – what if celebrities tried to become bodybuilders the same way they are training to become boxers? Craig and Vlad discuss this plus many more topics including the best tactics for drop sets, how much water should a bodybuilder drink, and his favorite genre of movies to watch. Let’s jump into it.
Which celebrity would be the most entertaining bodybuilding transformation?
Craig Golias points out that many celebrity figures have tried or trained to become boxers. While Jake and Logan Paul are two of the most recent (and successful) influencers to make this attempt – it’s not exactly a new concept. As early as the 80s there have been stunt boxing matches where an actor jumps into the ring to box a few rounds. The difference between then and today – is that the celebrities seem to be taking it very seriously.
This line of thinking brought up an interesting thought to Craig Golias – what if a celebrity seriously attempted to become a bodybuilder? Vlad Yudin agrees that the attempt would be very fascinating – and might even make a good reality show. Craig jokes that he would love to see Owen Wilson become a mass monster.
The best tactics for drop set training
Craig Golias and Vlad Yudin also discuss drop set training. Drop set training is an advanced technique that bodybuilders often use. It’s when the lifter focuses on completing a set until failure. Then, the lifter lightens the load (typically 10-30%) with no rest in between sets.
But when is the best time to use drop sets? Should all bodybuilders use this technique with every workout? Or does this lead to over-exhaustion? Craig Golias breaks down his tactics for using drop sets.
Typically, Craig’s advice is to use drop sets on weak and lagging body parts. Craig claims that bodybuilders should – “destroy the body part that is weak.” Ultimately, drop sets are the best way to help bring up lagging body parts and complete the evolution of your physique.
Wrap Up
There are far more topics discussed in this episode than we can cover in this article. Craig Golias also talks about the importance of hydration (and how much water a bodybuilder should drink daily), his latest social media collab with a boy who has a strangely large neck, and also his favorite genre of movies – including the Human Centipede francise. You can check it all out in the latest episode of Talking Huge above! Make sure to check out Talking Huge every week on Friday – only on the Generation Iron Fitness Network!
Eddie Hall Gives Injury Update And Thoughts On Boxing Match
Eddie Hall shared a video on his YouTube page to discuss different topics.
Eddie Hall is a power lifter known for his incredible deadlift numbers over the years. He has been transitioning into the works of boxing but suffered a setback with a torn bicep.
Hall was set to take on Hafthor Bjornsson but has to postpone the match. Now, Bjornsson will take on Devon Larratt on September 18. In a recent YouTube video, Hall gave an injury update and his thoughts on the upcoming boxing match.
“First thing that sprung to mind is that Devon has done absolutely zero boxing training for the past 15 years. He’s done nothing but arm wrestling. And he’s got what, six weeks notice, maybe less? It’s a tough one. Honestly I think Devon could batter him, I really do. The only thing I’ll say with boxing you’ve got to be fit. That’s the only thing that could let him down,” Eddie Hall said.
Hall and Bjornsson have a history in the powerlifting game. They have battled in World’a Strongest Man competitions and in the art of deadlifting. Hall became the first person to deadlift 500kg before his world record was broken by Bjornsson, who beat it by a single kilogram.
For more news and updates, follow Generation Iron on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
This added some extra fuel to the boxing match but the world will have to wait for it. Bjornsson is set to meet Larratt, who made a name for himself arm wrestling.
“I never said it coming. Like very random. Big guy. Big strong guy. He’s [Larratt] no stranger to danger and he’ll be up for a scrap. I think that Devon has had a lot more fights in his life, having met him, trained with him and spoke to him. I think he’s used to that kind of environment of being under pressure in front of crowds with him being an arm wrestling stuff as well, close quarters,” Eddie Hall said.
Eddie Hall also gave an update on his injury. Since suffering his injury, Hall is back in the gym and rehabbing that arm. He has taken to Instagram to show videos of different exercises he has performed, such as dumbbell work and even some boxing maneuvers.
Despite not having full mobility of his arm just yet, Hall has been able to train different motions. He has been focused on increasing his anaerobic capacity. This is done with movements such as lat pulldowns, incline bench press, seated rows, and more.
Eddie Hall will likely continue to update the public on his injury over the course of rehab. As for the boxing match, many will tune in to watch Bjornsson take on Larratt to see who will come out on top.
Nick Walker Provides Physique Update Ahead Of 2021 Arnold Classic
Nick Walker looks insane in preparation for the 2021 Arnold Classic.
Nick Walker is primed and ready for some of the biggest events of the year. He won the 2021 New York Pro back in May and this gave him qualification to the 2021 Olympia. Before Walker has a chance to compete at the biggest event of the year, he will be on stage at the 2021 Arnold Classic.
The Arnold Classic will take place on Sept. 25 in Columbu, Ohio. We are about four weeks out from the competition and Walker gave a physique update ahead of the event.
“4 weeks out New York proVs4 weeks out Arnold classic
Changes have been made.”
It has been almost four months since Nick Walker was walking across the stage of the New York Pro as a winner. As crazy as he looked during that event, Walker has added visible size. His back and arms have been pumped up ahead of the Arnold Classic. This is in attempt to pick up another victory and the lineup will pose a great challenge.
There are some big names set to compete in Columbus. Walker will go up against the likes of Maxx Charles, Iain Valliere, Akim Williams, and more.
Nick Walker has been giving frequent updates of his progress on Instagram. In his pictures, the poses are similar and they are taken with great lighting. Walker is looking to continue to be one of the up-and-coming stars in the sport of bodybuilding for years to come. He picked up a victory in the New York Pro and will now compete for the first time in the Arnold Classic and Olympia.
Three short days ago, Walker shared a post where his goals are simple — “I’m coming to win.”
We will be seeing more of Nick Walker over the next four weeks leading up to the Arnold Classic in Columbus. At this point, Walker will enter the competition as one of the favorites and there is still some more time to progress. It will be a must-watch event and Walker wants to take home the victory.

Chef Rush On Schwarzenegger’s Remarks: It’s Not Just About Freedom, It’s About Doing The Right Thing
[embedded content]
Chef Rush believes in defending people’s freedom but also feels that people have become complacent and entitled.
Chef Rush may be best known as the “jacked White House Chef” but he also spent a great deal of time in the military as a Master Sergeant. He’s fought for America and he understands the freedom and rights that he was fighting for. That’s why we felt it would be great to catch up and get his thoughts on the recent comments made by Arnold Schwarzenegger regarding mask mandates and freedom. In our latest GI Exclusive, Chef Rush breaks down the line between freedom, safety, and responsibility as members of the community.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger did a brief interview on CNN last month, he made a statement that reverberated across the bodybuilding world – “Screw your freedom.” In context, he was speaking about the greater responsibility that comes with freedom and urged those to wear a mask to help others during a time of need. But some saw this as another attempt to muzzle American citizens (somewhat literally) and take their rights away.
The fallout was swift and bold. Many bodybuilders made public statements condemning Arnold Schwarzenegger. Some even took down his posters from their wall. In the biggest move, RedCon1 pulled sponsorship from the upcoming Arnold Classic 2021.
We previously spoke with Victor Martinez on his thoughts about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s comments where he defended Arnold’s statements. Now we’ve reconnected with Chef Rush to get his reaction on not only Arnold’s comments but also the fitness world’s reaction to them. Rush has spent a good portion of his life defending America in the military – so he can bring in a unique viewpoint as both a defender of this country and as a bodybuilder.
Chef Rush overall seems to defend Arnold Schwarzenegger’s statement but he also defends those who chose to get angry about it. That’s what freedom of speech is all about. Arnold can say what he wants and those who react can do so in turn. But when it comes to the concept of freedom beyond speech – the freedom to wear or not wear a mask – Rush draws a much more nuanced line.
Chef Rush will not dismiss anyone for their comments – we all can have different ideals. But he does believe that it’s important to do the right thing beyond freedom.
“I can’t tell him [Arnold Schwarzenegger] how to say it. He can only say what he can say the same way you can or the way they handle their situation,” Chef Rush says in our interview. He goes on:
“It’s not about that. It’s about doing the right thing because if I went around kids, if I went around older people, even my own kids and things like that – it would be the wrong thing to do. Even no matter what I believed in.”
Chef Rush also points out how easy it is to feel one way about something until it affects a person directly:
“It will be different if it was your family. If it was somebody you love. We are so complacent and entitled now. Freedom of speech is what it is. But if you go into an airport and they tell you put that mask on, guess what you are going to do? You’re going to put that mask on or you’re not going to fly. You’re freedom is taken away. If you run that light and a cop sees you, it’s taken away. That’s just a simple matter of fact of it. So don’t get mad that I’m saying this. And if you do get mad of me saying it – then that’s your freedom to do so. And that’s my freedom to not care.”
Ultimately, Chef Rush admits that he has heard far more offensive and anti-freedom statements made to him throughout his lifetime. As a black man, he’s had numerous situations where he faced racism and was told he deserved less because of the color of his skin. He understands they have the freedom to say those things – but that doesn’t mean it is the right thing to do.
Overall – it seems Chef Rush’s sentiments are that this whole situation has been blown out of proportion. He wants to focus on respecting each other and doing what’s right – not always what is easy.
You can watch Chef Rush share his full thoughts on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s comments in our latest GI Exclusive interview segment above!
Iconic Event ‘Mr. America’ Names Generation Iron Network Official Media Partner
Generation Iron Network to collaborate with Mr. America and CBS Sports Network for coverage, previews, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Mr. America 2021.
Generation Iron Network has announced that it will be the official media partner for the Mr. America 2021 contest and expo taking place in Atlantic City at the Showboat Hotel on October 9-10, 2021. Under this new partnership, Generation Iron Network will become the official news hub for all previews, updates, and coverage of the Mr. America 2021 event. The full contest will also be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network at a later date.
The Mr. America competition is a legendary event and one of the oldest major bodybuilding competitions in the history of the sport. Before the Mr. Olympia or the Mr. Universe – there was the Mr. America. First held on July 4, 1939 as “America’s Best Built Man,” the event quickly changed to what is now known as the Mr. America contest the following year. The event was first sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) but has since changed many hands over its near century long run.
After the AAU ceased holding contests in 1999, the Mr. America contest fell from the mainstream bodybuilding consciousness. The contest disappeared for many years only to change hands multiple times and return sporadically and inconsistently.
As of 2020, the Mr. America contest resumed as a non-sanctioned event promoted by Marc Tauriello of East Coast Fitness Concepts. Tauriello’s goal is to return the Mr. America to its former glory as the biggest bodybuilding event of the year.
“With the return of the Iconic Mr America in 2020 there has never been a more exciting time in drug free bodybuilding,” stated Marc Tauriello. He continued:
“Having Generation Iron as our official media partner for this iconic event in 2021 as well as being televised truly represents the significance of the Mr America, if it wasn’t for the Mr America, bodybuilding as a hole wouldn’t be what it is today.”
The Mr. America 2021 will be held in Atlantic City at the Showboat Hotel on October 9-10. It is a non-sanctioned event, meaning that a bodybuilder from any league or federation may compete – allowing for a truly open playing field of the best competitors in the world. The contest will also be drug tested under strict WADA (World Anti Doping Agency) guidelines. The Mr. America contest and expo will hold competitions for bodybuilding, powerlifting, Clash of the Tridents, Olympic Weightlifting, and MAS Wrestling.
CBS Sports Network will also be providing fully televised coverage of the Mr. America competition. The television coverage will not be live but broadcast at a later date. Generation Iron Network will provide full updates and announcements of the schedule, how to watch, and when to tune in.
Generation Iron Network first launched in 2013 alongside the release of the feature film – Generation Iron. It has since grown and expanded to be the leading media outlet for all things bodybuilding, fitness, and strength sports. Providing not only news coverage, Generation Iron publishes informative training/nutrition guides, original programming, reviews on top brands, distributes chart topping sports documentaries worldwide and covers exclusive video interviews with top fitness athletes.
Generation Iron will build strategic media campaigns focused on bringing the most engaging and up to date information and coverage of the 2021 Mr. America. The company will utilize its expansive media presence and its global digital subscriber base to re-introduce Mr. America events and athletes to viewers worldwide. The full contest will be a fully drug tested event and will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network at a later date.
“We are thrilled to team up with Marc Tauriello and the Mr. America team,” stated Executive Producer Edwin Mejia Jr. “Generation Iron is proud to cover the longest running bodybuilding contest in the country. and offer a whole new immersive experience for viewers worldwide.”
For the entire month of September leading up to the event, Generation Iron will provide a unique inside look into the Mr. America competition, its athletes, and the history of this prestigious event. Expect featured interviews with athletes set to compete, vital live event updates including:

WATCH: Larry Wheels Crushes 827lb Triple Squat
Larry Wheels has been putting up crazy numbers in recent training sessions.
Larry Wheels is known for pulling off eye-popping lifts and he is back at it again. In a recent training session, Wheels destroyed an 827lb squat for a triple — and did it with relative ease.
Wheels is back to training with monstrous weight and has been posting some recent work on social media. For this incredible lift, Wheels took to Instagram to show his recent progress.
“827×3Wait for it… then wait for it again. Then wait for it one more time!@teampersonalrecord“
Larry Wheels spent some time arm wrestling and took on some of the best competitors in the world. This includes Aleksandr “Schoolboy” Toproll, who is one of the best in the world today. The two linked up twice for some memorable events. Now, Wheels seems to have his focus back on powerlifting and is back to moving some unimaginable weight.
An 827lb squat is no joke. Wheels makes this lift look effortless for a triple and there are many aspects at work here. The patience that the 26-year-old has is incredible and he maintains the same form, even with a full-grown grizzly bear on his back.
This is the most recent accomplishment for Wheels. On Aug. 1, he shared a video of a 852lb squat for a double. He has also excelled in other areas such as a 515lb shoulder press and an 875lb sumo deadlift.
The weight that Wheels has been moving recently makes one think that he has big things in mind for the near future. As of now, we know that he plans to compete on Sept. 11 at the IPS Long Island Insurrextion.
This is where Larry Wheels could continue to attempt different personal records. The arm-wrestling journey was exciting but powerlifting is better with Wheels in the game. If his social media is any indication, it is clear that Wheels is back to fully focusing on weightlifting and is doing it in a big way.
The Rock Responds To A Viral Picture Of His Doppelgänger
Lt. Eric Fields has gone viral for looking just like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, has done it all. He became the biggest star in WWE before shifting to the big screen and becoming one of the highest-grossing actors in the world. Now, he has gone viral for a recent picture of his doppelgänger.
The Rock’s lookalike is Alabama police officer — Lt. Eric Fields, who works for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. A recent picture of the duo was tweeted out and The Rock responded for his 15.3 million followers and more.
“Oh shit! Wow. Guy on the left is way cooler. Stay safe brother and thank you for your service. One day we’ll drink @Teremana
and I need to hear all your “Rock stories” because I KNOW you got ‘em
#ericfields”
Oh shit! Wow.Guy on the left is way cooler.Stay safe brother and thank you for your service. One day we’ll drink @Teremana and I need to hear all your “Rock stories” because I KNOW you got ‘em ????? #ericfields https://t.co/G38tOr68cW
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) August 31, 2021
For the record, Teremana is The Rock’s tequila that is growing rapidly. There is no doubt that Fields has stories about being compared to The Rock. He has mentioned that Johnson and Vin Diesel are his two most-frequent mentions.
“It’s always been a running joke of people saying I resemble the Rock or Vin Diesel and I just go with it,” Fields told WBRC, Fox’s affiliate in Birmingham, AL.
Fields continued by saying even his wife enjoys the comparisons. Since this picture came out, both The Rock and Fields has commented. The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has even invited the movie star out to patrol with Fields.
This entire story began with a TikTok video posted by an Alabama resident and tagging The Rock. From that point on, residents began asking for pictures with Fields and it went onto the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Fields is a 37-year-old who has worked in the sheriff’s office for 17 years.
The Rock is known for his incredible physique, both from WWE and in movies. Now, the question remains — will Johnson ever find a way to connect with his doppelgänger? The world will be waiting to see.
