Martyn Ford vs. Iranian Hulk Boxing Match Moved To April 30
Martyn Ford confirmed that the fight will be postponed to the final day of April.
Fans have been waiting a long time to see Martyn Ford and the Iranian Hulk step into the boxing ring together. They will have to wait a few weeks longer. The fight between the two behemoths has been moved from April 2 to April 30. It will still take place at the O2 Arena in London.
Ford took to Instagram to make the announcement on Thursday afternoon. Box Star UK, which is the promoter of the event, also released a statement explaining that the fight will be postponed to give the fighters more time to prepare. This is because of injuries to some of the fighters on the card.
““There has been a date change, 30th of April. Same venue, same opponent, same result. Just give me more time to prepare to become faster, stronger, sharper, more powerful.”
“I can only apologise for any issues, please feel free to contact Boxstar if there is anything that’s causing issues and they assure me they will do all they can to help make this a smooth transition. On the bright side we have some huge announcements to make, and this extra few weeks gives extra time to make this a night to remember. The roof blowing off the o2 was not ideal, and a few behind the scenes issues to boot HOWEVER.. we move on, adapt and deliver .. see you there !!!! Head over to @boxstaruknow for tickets,” Ford’s caption read.
Martyn Ford explained how Iranian Hulk was given the option to back out of the fight but he is not interested in doing so. This is not a surprise given the anticipated nature of this fight. Also, Sajad Gharibi has been putting in some serious work, in many different ways, to prepare for the event.
The bout being postponed will just add some more drama to the actual night. Both fighters have been wanting to get in the ring together and now, they will have an extra four weeks to prepare. This is something they have both been doing. Ford has taken the time to train with athletes such as Rico Verhoeven.
One thing we do know is that the fight is still on. Those who are looking forward to the action will just have to mark down a new date on their calendar.

Iranian Hulk Shows Crazy Training Methods That Include Getting Hit With Wooden Boards
The Iranian Hulk continues to prepare for his fight with Martyn Ford.
Sajad Gharibi, known as the Iranian Hulk, is preparing to fight Martyn Ford on April 2 at the O2 Arena in London. This boxing match was announced back in October and since then, both athletes have been displaying some unique training methods. The Iranian Hulk has taken his methods to the next level including being hit in the stomach with wooden boards.
Gharibi has been active on social media showing off his preparation for the bout and they have been intense from the start. Recently, the Iranian Hulk’s videos include work with different weights, sparring techniques, and yes — wooden boards.
“I have nothing to loseWhen No one has anything to lose This is very dangerous
Cant wait to FIGHT.”
Gharibi might be referencing the fact that Ford is viewed as a big favorite in this fight. He has a background in jiu-jitsu and MMA so his boxing skills are not new. This does not mean that the Iranian Hulk is going to back down and this was shown during the first stare down.
The two fighters met face-to-face for the first time on Feb. 25 and it got heated quickly. The Iranian Hulk did not back down to ‘The World’s Scariest Man’ and attempted to take him down during the first encounter. Ford responded with a shove. As if the battle needed anymore anticipation, both athletes gave it a little extra.
The Iranian Hulk has displayed methods like this before. In January, he was seen fighting a group of men as a tactic and before that, Gharibi was punching concrete walls. While the purpose of these methods remains a mystery, we do know that he is willing to go to great lengths to win this fight.
“If you still look good at the end of your workout, you didn’t train hard enough.”
The anticipation of this fight has been taken to new levels as the date gets closer. Ford might be considered the favorite but we have seen that the Iranian Hulk is willing to do what it takes to compete. Like Gharibi has said, when an underdog has nothing to lose, it can be a scary thing. We will see how it all plays out on April 2.

Martyn Ford Shares Current Weight Of 315 Pounds Ahead Of Fight Against Iranian Hulk
Martyn Ford is finalizing the look of his physique ahead of this fight.
Martyn Ford has such an impressive and massive physique that many thought he was photoshopped. While it is clear that he is not, Ford is continuing to improve his physique ahead of his fight with the Iranian Hulk. On Sunday, Ford revealed his current bodyweight just three weeks out of the much-anticipated bout.
This is not an official weigh-in for the event. The two are set to meet at the O2 Arena in London on April 2. Ford has such a massive build that it makes him an intimidating figure. This has led to his nickname of the ‘World’s Scariest Man.’ This weight update was given on Instagram where he shared that he is 315 pounds.
“Weighed in this morning at 143kg. Feel Amazing in the lead up to this fight, still powerful, explosive and working hard on speed. Time to step it up even more now, no letting up, I will be the best version of ME … no matter what, I WILL be ready. (Sorry/not Sorry for My pout ?)”
Martyn Ford stands at 6-foot-9 and this makes his build look slimmer. Ford has huge shoulders and massive legs so it is not surprising that he is around 315 pounds. Since his preparation began, ford is down about 15 pounds.
The matchup between Ford and the Iranian Hulk is an interesting one when looking at the size of each fighter. Ford is expected to enter the fight around this bodyweight while being close to seven inches taller. Despite standing 6-foot-2, Sajad Gharibi reportedly weighs around 400 pounds.
This is an anticipated fight between two fighters who have made it personal and want to get the better of each other. This was shown during the first stare down between the two where each took a shot at the other. First, it was the Iranian Hulk who tried to take down Ford. During the second attempt at a stare down, Ford delivered a shove that sent Gharibi to the floor.
This is not the first time that these two have been linked in a fight but there is finally a date and it is quickly approaching. Martyn Ford is considered the favorite in the fight and continues to show off an impressive physique heading in.

This fight is scheduled to be a four-round bout which each being two minutes long. It is a Boxstar Celebrity Boxing event that is sanctioned by the Professional Boxing Association. Gharibi carries plenty of muscle mass and weighs around 390 pounds. This is 90 pounds more than Ford, who also carries great size at his extreme height. Martyn Ford Trains With Kickboxer Rico Verhoeven Preparing For Boxing Match With Iranian Hulk
Martyn Ford has been taking the time to learn from experienced fighters before stepping in the ring.
Just one day after Hafthor Bjornsson and Eddie Hall set a date for their anticipated fight, there is another that remains high on the radar. Bodybuilder Martyn Ford is preparing to take on Sajad Gharibi, better known as the Iranian Hulk, on April 2 in London. Ford is training from some of the top fighters around in order to be fully prepared to step in the ring.
Ford recently teamed up with world champion kickboxer Rico Verhoeven for a training session. The bodybuilder shared videos on Instagram of some of the training methods that were implemented. This includes sparring and some work on instincts.
“I mean, I would like to say it was close …. BUT I’d be lying ???, what an incredible morning of education. Absolutely love LOVE LOVE this sport, the only way you learn, is to push your comfort zones. I think sharing the ring with the world champ, is definitely doing that …. @ricoverhoeven my brother ?? #champ#brother #levels @superpro_sportcenter thank you guys for all you do????”
Verhoeven still holds his championship that was acquired in 2014. He is one of the best fighters in the world and has plenty to offer as a coach. With Ford preparing to step in the ring against another behemoth, he will have to be ready.

This is not the first time these two have been linked in a fight but it is the first time that there is an official date and plan.
In 2019, both fighters signed contracts to fight in the Polish MMA KSW but this did not come to fruition. Now, they will have a chance to settle their differences in the ring and put on a much-anticipated show.
It is clear that both fighters want to get the best of the other and that is why Martyn Ford is putting in the work that he is. With the guidance of some of the elite fighters in the world, Ford could perfect his skills and show great improvement when he takes on the Iranian Hulk.

Talking Huge | EP 23: The Iranian Hulk Gets Mad At Craig Golias & Generation Iron
[embedded content]
The Iranian Hulk reacts to Craig Golias’ statements from our previous episode. Now Craig responds back.
Welcome to another episode of Talking Huge – a weekly digital series in which Craig Golias talks in-depth with Vlad Yudin on the latest trending topics in bodybuilding. Raw, honest, and uncut – Craig Golias shares his opinions on all things bodybuilding. In this episode, Craig Golias follows up on his comments about the Iranian Hulk – who took offense to Craig’s statements. Craig also makes his picks for the best bodybuilders in different categories of 2021.
Last week on Talking Huge, Craig Golias shared his thoughts on the upcoming boxing match between the Iranian Hulk and Martyn Ford. Specifically, Craig stated that he believes the Iranian Hulk’s physique is photoshopped. His waist, in particular, appears to be too narrow for such a massive hulking frame. Craig assumed that by the time we see him in the boxing ring – we would get a better idea of his physique. Knowing this, Craig also seems confident that the boxing match will never happen and be cancelled last minute.
The Iranian Hulk saw Craig Golias’ comments and took offense to this – claiming he was being harassed on the Talking Huge podcast. Is a beef forming between Craig Golias and Iranian Hulk? Golias doesn’t seem to want to engage too far into the argument. Upon hearing about the Iranian Hulk’s offense – Craig had this to say on the matter.
“We didn’t harass him. He needs to relax… I wasn’t harassing him. I don’t harass anybody bro. I’m one of the most chill guys out there… I don’t know man, does he want to fight me? Because I’m a lover not a fighter.”
Vlad Yudin also agreed, stating that they were just having some fun and he was surprised that of all people to get offended by Craig Golias and Generation Iron – he never thought it would be the Iranian Hulk.
Craig Golias then doubled down on his original statement, saying that he still thinks that the boxing match will get cancelled last minute. With a date in April 2022 approaching fast – we’ll soon find out.
Craig Golias’ Picks For Best Bodybuilders Of 2021
Craig Golias and Vlad Yudin also discuss the ongoing Bodybuilding Awards 2021 that is running currently via Generation Iron. The awards are an opportunity for the fans to vote on the best athletes across 15 different categories. Vlad runs by a few of the highlight categories and nominees past Craig to see what his vote would be.
Below are Craig Golias’ picks for the best bodybuilders across different criteria:
Best Back: Akim Williams
Best Arms: Tie between Brandon Curry, Nick Walker, and Michal Krizo
Best Guru: Tie between Dennis James and Milos Sarcev
Best Up-And-Comer: Nick Walker
Best Legs: Tie between Derek Lunsford, Nick Walker, and Big Ramy
Best Male Athlete: Chris Bumstead
Women’s Bodybuilding And Popularity Of Different Divisions
Craig Golias and Vlad Yudin also touch upon the topic of the growing divisions in the IFBB and NPC. Not only has the Wellness division officially entered the Olympia weekend – but Women’s Bodybuilding has also been making a comeback over the past few years. Craig discusses how the division should never have been abandoned – and how femininity should never come into the equation when discussing caliber of physiques in judging.
Craig also shares his thoughts on which division is most popular. Could Men’s Open ever be overtaken as the number one highlight of the sport? Craig is absolutely confident that Men’s Open will remain number one and thinks that the talk of Classic Physique overtaking it will never happen.
He does acknowledge that some divisions are more popular in terms of registered athletes. Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, and Bikini all have a very large number of registered competitors – especially in the amateur division. But when it comes to the audience, Craig remains steadfast that Men’s Open will remain supreme.
