Jay Cutler Shares ‘Ultimate Back-Builder Exercise for Crazy Wide Lats’

Jay Cutler Shares ‘Ultimate Back-Builder Exercise for Crazy Wide Lats’

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler possesses a wealth of fitness knowledge stemming from years of competing in the sport. Although he stepped away from professional competition a decade ago, his passion for bodybuilding burns strong. In a recent video uploaded to YouTube, Cutler shared the ultimate back-builder exercise for developing crazy wide lats.
Jay Cutler first gained recognition for his freakish muscle mass, size, and conditioning as a Men’s Open competitor in the 2000s. His fierce rivalry with fellow legend Ronnie Coleman is considered to be one of the greatest in the history of the sport. He fell short of the eight-time Mr. Olympia champion on four occasions until he finally secured the coveted Sandow trophy in 2006. Cutler racked up four Mr. Olympia titles, and three Arnold Classic titles, and hung up his posing trunks with a record six runner-up finishes.
Cutler has maintained a high level of personal fitness post-retirement. He’s working towards transforming his physique as part of the ‘Fit for 50’ challenge. Earlier this year, he left the fans stunned with a shredded physique update and posing session where he weighed 240 pounds.
Cutler regularly educates his fanbase on ways to lead a healthy lifestyle. He offered an arm workout targeting the biceps and triceps for building muscle last month. Next, he laid out tips on carving a ripped midsection with three exercises. He suggested focusing on conditioning the abs rather than trying to build muscle in the area.
The 49-year-old crushed a high-volume lower body workout for optimizing muscle growth last month. He targeted quads and hamstrings in the training session to get ready before his 50th birthday.

Jay Cutler detailed the different types of exercises he’s utilizing to enhance his cardiovascular health and get in shape for the body transformation challenge. He suggested doing cardio while fasting in the morning or after a weight lifting session. Next, Cutler shared that he packed on 15 pounds since starting the challenge and declared his ambitions to get leaner over the next few weeks.
Cutler backed Open standouts Samson Dauda and Derek Lunsford as the favorites in his analysis of the upcoming 2023 Mr. Olympia two weeks ago. He also extended his support for Andrew Jacked to potentially shock the world with a strong performance.
Jay Cutler Shares His Best Back-Building Exercise for Wide Lats
In a recent YouTube video, Jay Cutler shared pull-ups as the ultimate back-builder exercise for attaining crazy wide lats.
“Is the standard pulldown with a machine the same thing as a pull-up?” said Cutler. “I would say not. I would say the ultimate back-builder you want to build crazy wide lats you got to stick to your pull-ups whether it’s body weight or adding some weight to your body, it depends on how heavy you are. More importantly, there’s nothing that would replace the standard pull-up. You see all the wide backs, all that v-taper, it comes from a wide pulldown movement and that is best done on a pull-up bar.
Not to say pulldowns on a machine don’t work but try to stick to the basics and do your pull-ups in your routine. Just make sure you focus on at least 10 repetitions. I know it gets heavy over time with set after set but remember repetitions are going to get the growth in the lats.”
Jay Cutler gave fans a look into his methods for building huge arms while crushing a heavy-duty workout last week. He went through the exercises that helped him develop 20-inch arms and offered helpful tips. Then, he showed off his insane physique in an impressive update seven weeks out from the challenge.
His latest offering will encourage his fans to try his go-to exercises for building a thicker and wider back.

Jay Cutler on New-Gen Athletes Openly Discussing Anabolics: “They Need to Be Careful”

Jay Cutler on New-Gen Athletes Openly Discussing Anabolics: “They Need to Be Careful”

Jay Culter looks over the Men’s Open division in retirement having firmly cemented his name in the record books. In the latest Cutler Cast Podcast, Cutler took questions from fans regarding a number of topics including his nutrition journal, whether younger athletes should openly discuss steroids, and his macro count.
During his tenure, Cutler distinguished himself from fellow competitors with a wide chest, great arms, and perhaps one of the strongest lower bodies of all time. His perseverance propelled him to a Mr. Olympia title in 2006 after he toppled ‘The King’ Ronnie Coleman. This victory prevented Coleman from winning a ninth Sandow, which would have broken the record he shares today with eight-time winner Lee Haney.

With four Olympia titles attached to his legacy, Cutler remains one of the greatest to take part in the sport. He hasn’t stepped on a pro stage in 10 years but maintains an impressive physique today. He recently committed to a body transformation which he intends to complete in August.
In addition to tracking his nutrition in a diary, Cutler has been forthcoming about his supplement and steroid use but only in retirement. With active competitors openly discussing gear nowadays, Cutler worries their transparency could cause problems down the road.
Jay Culter Talks Nutrition Diary, Creatine, Macros, and New Gen of Athletes Talking About Anabolics
Cutler confirmed that he kept a nutrition journal when he competed actively. He added that his journal would look vastly different from bodybuilding coach Milos Sarcev’s.
“I did. I did. I should compare mine to Milos’. See the difference between my log is mine’s all nutrition and training and Milos’ is all gear. He’s going to have to come on and defend himself. So yeah, I used to have these little books, these notebooks, I would have each show. They’re in my mom’s attic with all the magazines. Yeah, I could put them out. But today, [it’s in] your phone,” said Jay Cutler.  “Who writes stuff down these days besides Milos,” said Jay Cutler. “Like do you see people in the gym doing log books anymore, they’re in their phones.”
Cutler believes the newer generation of competitors who discuss steroids openly are at risk for unwanted or unfavorable ‘exposure.’
“Man, that’s a huge topic [the younger generation of bodybuilders openly talking about anabolics]. I did a Greg Doucette interview, it’s probably the only one where I really talked about kind of got into usage and I’ll mention it a lot whether what I’m talking or TRT and you know everyone thinks there’s a lot of things outside of that are being used which is not the case. I don’t know, I don’t like it. I don’t like it because before we were first of all contracted by many different endorsement deals. I believe that no one that endorses something especially if it’s products or whatever else, they need to be careful when they talk about this. I’m sure you’ll give more reasons why. It’s not the greatest idea. It sets you up for a lot of exposure if that makes sense.”
Despite suspicions, Cutler stressed that he’s only using testosterone replacement therapy.

“You remember the team I had around me,  I mean… you know what we did in bodybuilding I mean obviously is outside of what they call – it’s funny everyone say’s I’m on TRT now but they seem to be on their own TRT. I see a doctor. But no, they’re doing their own. They are getting their own supply. It’s not the right thing.”
As for creatine use, the four-time Mr. Olympia recommended five grams before, during, or after training.
“I think five grams I would take it either before, during, or after training. Sometimes you can split it maximum 10 grams. I think it’s the most long researched product that’s very great for giving yourself more strength, recovery, muscle fullness, remember it’s about keeping muscles full and getting your ATP output out of your muscle the most you know. I think it’s definitely beneficial,” shared Jay Cutler.  “You can [use it while cutting] I mean, I would cut it out the last couple of weeks from the contest. I cut out any supplements a couple weeks out,” Cutler explained. “I think you would have to eat a lot of red meat to be honest [to get optimum creatine.”
Lastly, Jay Cutler detailed his macros as of late, which included 300 grams of protein and 500 grams of carbohydrates.
“I have no idea [total calories]. I would say about 3,500. I’m eating about 300 grams of protein a day and maybe 3-500 grams of carbs. Obviously, there’s fats in the meats I eat, the chicken, the steak, a couple whole eggs in the morning. Sometimes I add an avocado in there or almond butter or whatever. I’d say around that I was eating double when I was trying to get bigger so I was over 6. But I would say about 3,500 calories.”
This isn’t the first time that Cutler has detailed his nutrition at 49 years old. He recently took part in a JayCutler TV appearance where he opened up about keeping the metabolism guessing. He offered solutions for bulking without having to add a substantial amount of size.  Cutler has a history of talking about bulking. In a Cutler Cast Podcast last year, the Massachusetts native revealed that he favors ‘lean bulking’ over dirty bulking. At the time, Cutler wasn’t obsessed with muscle mass but emphasized that most people these days aspire to keep leaner physiques. Steroid discussions continue to dominate discussions online, but Jay Cutler believes younger athletes should approach the subject with caution. In the meantime, Cutler’s focus is on kicking his transformation into overdrive in the next six weeks.

Jay Cutler Unveils Impressive Physique Update Just 7 Weeks from Fit-for-50 Transformation Goal

Jay Cutler Unveils Impressive Physique Update Just 7 Weeks from Fit-for-50 Transformation Goal

Jay Cutler‘s physique continues to transform in front of our eyes. In a recent YouTube video, Cutler shared an impressive posing session, a chest and calf workout, and discussed his physique goals in 2023.

“I’ve been starting with calves for years. I always start training when I do chest day with calves. And the reason being I always feel like if you prioritize the weaker body parts, you’ll get better results,” Cutler explained.

Cutler’s bodybuilding career was defined by grit, hard work, and determination. He placed runner-up to Ronnie Coleman four times before exacting revenge against ‘The King’ in 2006. In addition to sharing the stage with countless legends, Cutler is the only Open Mr. Olympia to ever win back a title he lost, which he accomplished in 2009 when he etched his name in the history books with an iconic quad stomp pose.
As a four-time Mr. Olympia and three-time Arnold Classic titleholder, Cutler remains passionate about bodybuilding even in retirement. His last show came in 2013 where he placed sixth at Mr. Olympia. Having stepped away, he focuses on training, YouTube collaborations, and hosting his popular podcast Cutler Cast.

Cutler announced that he would undergo a physique transformation late last year. He emphasized that he was aiming to get in the best shape of his life since 2013. Dubbed the ‘Fit-for-50’ challenge, Cutler has documented his journey to the delight of fans. He’s shown physique updates, diet plans, and training sessions en route to the transformation.
Fans hoped he would hop on a competition stage, but Cutler said he’s taking on the fitness challenge to show the world what is possible at 50 years old. And with Jay’s birthday coming in August, the former champ is ramping up his efforts. He’s also has been teasing a possible guest posing appearance at the 2023 Masters Olympia taking place in Romania.
Jay Cutler’s Chest Workout List w/Calf Warmup

Standing Calf Raise – 4 sets 12 reps
Calf Raise On Leg Press Machine – 4 sets 12 reps
Seated Calf Raise – 4 sets 12 reps
Chest press Machine – 6-7 12 sets 12 reps
Vertical Press Machine – 3-4 sets pyramiding the weight up
Dumbbell Bench Press – 1 set (90 lbs) 12 reps
Cable Fly Machine – 2 sets

After he finished the workout, Jay Cutler reflected on his fitness goals for the rest of the year. He also revealed he’s weighing 245 pounds.
“Alright, that wraps up chest and calves. We are just over seven weeks out right now and I’m feeling good. Like I said, I had a little mishap not this past week but the week before where I didn’t get a lot of my meals in and I think the meals, like I mentioned, are the most important thing. The body weight is not where I want it to be, I want to be 250. I’m about 245 now. The goal now after this weekend is still continue to get a little leaner and a little fuller at the same time.”
“I did my cardio this morning, I did 40 minutes, I added two sessions of cardio in, I’m doing at least 30 minutes after – in the evening. So I do first thing in the morning and evening, and every day is a little different. I try to switch it up.
What I’m doing different from competing for Olympia titles or Arnold Classics or whatever else, I’m actually using an instinctive approach. Remember: I’m not trying to be super ripped I’m just trying to be lean and fuller. If I feel like I’m getting flat, I’ll allow myself to eat and back down off the cardio and get a little fuller because I have a goal for August 3, and that’s the end goal to really kind of showcase the physique. But it’s not going to be finished then, I’m going to keep going. So by the time everybody sees me at Olympia in November I’ll probably still be in the phase of keeping this size and who knows what the goal will be,” Cutler said.
Then, the former Mr. Olympia showed off some bodybuilding poses in a separate video. Cutler’s progress is remarkable as he looks bigger, fuller, and more detailed while holding less body fat. Earlier this year, he targeted a body fat goal of 6-8%. It’s evident Cutler’s leg development is still a top priority as well.

Cutler has been open with fans about the training techniques he’s using to revamp his physique. The last time he showed off a training session, he demonstrated how to build 20-inch arms with a grueling workout. Cutler prefers starting with the triceps before biceps on arm days.
Anyone who has been following’s Cutler’s ‘fit-for-50’ physique transformation has probably noticed changes to his body. In one of his previous updates, the 49-year-old revealed that he had gained 15 pounds since starting the challenge.
Transformations are some of the most compelling stories in the fitness industry. While he has no plans of stepping on stage, Cutler’s journey has served as a great inspiration to fans and followers.

Jay Cutler Reveals Secrets to Building 20-Inch Arms in Latest Training Session

Jay Cutler Reveals Secrets to Building 20-Inch Arms in Latest Training Session

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler hasn’t slowed down despite retiring from the sport in 2013. In a recent JayCutlerTV video, Cutler updated fans on his fit-for-50 body transformation challenge and shared a brutal arms workout.
During his career, Cutler paid his dues before touching Mr. Olympia gold. He was runner-up to ‘The King’ Ronnie Coleman four times in a row before finally dethroning the long-standing champ in 2006. While competing actively, Cutler was praised for his jarring lower body development which included some of the best quads in bodybuilding history.
While he called it a career 10 years ago, Cutler still follows the sport closely. When he’s not discussing the Men’s Open division, he’s pushing himself in the gym. Late last year, the 49-year-old revealed he was transforming his body for a physique challenge. He made it clear he didn’t plan to compete but has since teased guest posing at the return of the Masters Olympia show this August.

Cutler has been transparent about his efforts to transform his body. He took to previous Cutler Cast podcasts where he shared that he’s only using testosterone replacement therapy to enhance his physique. Moreover, he emphasized that he planned to stay away from more powerful compounds like Trenbolone. With steady physique updates before his birthday, Cutler is back offering an intense arms workout with his fanbase.
Jay Cutler Shows How to Build 20-Inch Guns in Latest Arm Workout
Check out Cutler’s workout list below:

Cable Triceps pushdown – 2 warm-up sets, 3 working sets
Rope press down – 3-4 sets 10-12 reps
Overhead dumbbell extensions – 3 sets
Dip machine – 3 sets
Triceps extension w/dumbbell kickbacks – 3 sets 10-12 reps
Nautilus biceps machine – 3 sets
Alternate dumbbell curls – 3 sets 8-10 reps
Incline bench spider curls w/straight bar – 3 sets 10-12 reps

Before reviewing the arm workout, Cutler checked his weight and he’s currently sitting at 243 pounds.
Cable Triceps pushdown
“So we just finished an arm workout, it seems like we were just doing this yesterday actually, here at the same place. It’s kind of funny, I wanted to do an arm video because it seems to be everyone’s favorite, everyone asks me about arm training, it’s like arms, chest, or calves, right? So, I’m going to talk through the exercises.”
“Like always, I always start with triceps first. This week, instead, I kind of reversed it a little bit so I started with a press down movement, I used kind of a shorter straight bar, did two warm-up sets and then three working sets, pyramiding the weight up, I went up to 120 and just really try to get a contraction. I know some of these reps look short but the contraction is there.”
Rope press down
“Then, I went over to the rope press down,” said Cutler. “I got on my knees and I actually kept the arms a little close. I was getting good contractions out of it. And for me, that seems to work better for me. I feel like when I’m at a lower body position and going through the reps, and this I went into like three or four sets total, 10 or 12 reps, I didn’t really count.”
Overhead dumbbell extensions
“The pump was starting to really flow by then. The next exercise we went over to is the overhead dumbbell. Now, with this exercise, I’m focused on three sets I did it kind of on a preacher bench and I backed up to that. Sometimes the seats are a little high, the back of the seats so it’s hard to get the extension. One thing about these: I don’t have any elbow pain.”
Dip machine
“Then I went over to the dip machine. Which was you know, kind of different, hammer strength like we’ve used in the past. That’s really good. I’ve done free weights, whatever else for dips but focused on three sets there, focused on pyramiding the weight up a little bit,” said Cutler.
Triceps extension w/dumbbell kickbacks
“Then, I finished with triceps extension with dumbbells, kickbacks, I did two arms. I used to do these single armed you can do them either way. Did three sets of those, just focusing on 10 or 12 repetitions really focusing on getting the contraction. Then rolled into the biceps.”
Nautilus biceps machine + Alternate dumbbell curls
“Then of course, rolled right into the biceps. First exercise of biceps was that Nautilus machine and I would not fit into this if I was full size as I used to be. Because it’s really close but I really like this. I do two arms at a time. Did three sets here. Pumped, very easy to get the pump once you have the triceps pumped up. Then rolled into our dumbbell curls, now I did the first set standing alternate dumbbells rolled into some seated. Focused on getting the contraction, I try to do like 8-10 each arm.”

Incline bench spider curls w/straight bar
“I did the straight bar this time, three sets of [spider curls] focusing on 10-12 repetitions really getting a good contraction. Really really good burn on these and of course the last movement is going to be the preacher bench. Sometimes I do single, I did double, three sets here, really just getting that contraction, getting that good pump. All in all, felt pretty good.”
“I want to get my body weight and my weight climbing back up. I’m not happy being in the mid-240s, I really wanted to be 250 by this time, at eight weeks, I started making the transition and adding extra cardio in, doing two sessions a day, this morning did about 25 minutes.”
This is far from the first training session Cutler has shared while embarking on his latest fitness challenge. Recently, the four-time Mr. Olympia led fans through a killer arm-building workout designed to cause hypertrophy. He also offered a comprehensive breakdown of the eight-exercise routine.
Regardless of the body part, Cutler has solutions, which he credits to his decades of exercise experience. As for ab development, Jay says the ultimate rep range is between 15-20. In addition, he listed his three favorite ab exercises: crunches, hanging raises, and ropes.
With August approaching, fans are eager to see Cutler’s best physique since 2013. While Jay would like to be heavier, he’s happy with the progress he’s made thus far on his journey.

Jay Cutler Breaks Down 2023 Mr. Olympia Top Contenders: ‘Can Andrew Jacked Shock the World?’

Jay Cutler Breaks Down 2023 Mr. Olympia Top Contenders: ‘Can Andrew Jacked Shock the World?’

Legendary bodybuilder Jay Cutler led a highly decorated career that saw him become a four-time Mr. Olympia. Since moving on from professional competition, he’s turned into a revered figure known for his sharp eye for talent. In a recent episode of Cutler Cast, Cutler shared his breakdown of the top contenders for the upcoming 2023 Mr. Olympia competition.
Jay Cutler first made headlines for his monstrous muscle mass, size, and conditioning in the IFBB Pro League Men’s Open division in the 2000s. He dominated the competition at the 2002 Arnold Classic and racked up two more AC titles in the following years. He developed an intense rivalry with eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, who kept him at bay from the top prize. After four runner-up finishes, Cutler finally dethroned his longtime foe and secured his maiden Sandow trophy. He hung up his posing trunks with four Mr. Olympia wins under his belt.
The Men’s Open division hosts some of the freakiest mass monsters in the world and serves as the marquee category at any bodybuilding event. The division’s landscape continues to evolve with a rise in talent joining the division from around the world.
Former two-time Mr. Olympia Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay got knocked off the top at the 2022 Mr. Olympia last season. Hadi Choopan reigned supreme as the new champion whereas former 212 Olympia king Derek Lunsford stunned the world with a silver in his Open debut. Nick Walker moved up the ranks and rounded out the top three. Meanwhile, Hunter Labrada missed the mark and fell out of the top six, meaning he would need to earn an invite to the competition this year.
Andrew Jacked / Instagram
Rising sensation Andrew Jacked is another contender who presented a major threat to the more experienced veterans. Samson Dauda emerged as a budding contender after placing sixth at the previous Olympia event. He further asserted his place in the mix by coming out on top of the 2023 Arnold Classic three months ago.
Slovakian bodybuilder Michal Krizo entered the group with a lot of hype behind him last year. He presented insane arm development along with freakish overall muscularity. He’s coming off a commanding performance in his last outing at the 2023 Empro Classic Pro that saw him score gold last week.
Jay Cutler breaks down top contenders of 2023 Mr. Olympia
In a recent YouTube video, Jay Cutler shared his analysis of the top contenders for the 2023 Mr. Olympia.
Cutler started by praising Krizo’s latest win and identified areas he would like to see improved.
“He was looking so paper thin, especially in the upper body, the arms are some of the best in the business and it looked like he made improvements, which I think he did improve from his prior showings. But I don’t know if he came down in size a little bit to gather the condition,” said Cutler. “I still feel like he’s still going to have trouble pushing the top spots at the Olympia.
“He still needs to get more density in the side of the leg, the hamstring, glutes, and the back’s improved but he still… arms are so big. When you have arms that big it kinda takes from the lats unless you’re like a Nick Walker.”
Cutler believes Dauda and Lunsford are the frontrunners for the contest. He also highlighted the danger Choopan and former champ Brandon Curry may present.
“I didn’t want to start counting places because I hated when people did that to me but there’s a lot of good guys. That six to ten is going to be… We just saw Derek and Samson too. They trained together a couple days ago and Derek looks tremendous which he always has and Samson looks tremendous which he has for the past few years. Obviously, the Arnold winner. Question is if Derek would’ve done the Arnold, we could keep talking about that.”
“Contention wise, Hadi’s been kind of shouting out ‘don’t forget about me.’ We’re also forgetting Brandon Curry.”
Derek Lunsford / Instagram
Cutler supports Big Ramy competing at the event
Jay Cutler extended his support for Big Ramy to return and compete at the 2023 Mr. Olympia. He believes Ramy doesn’t have enough time to sit out a year and could perform well if he came in his best form.
“Ramy sounds like he’s going to come back and compete, which I’m all for. He needs to possibly take a step away and I think it’s got a little misconstrued. I hate the fact that Steve Weinberger has kinda been put on the spot because he said basically go back to what you’re doing. I don’t think he ever said like he needs to take the whole year off. I don’t even know how it was said but there’s a lot of controversy right now.
“The point is he just needs to regroup and do what he does best and come in the best of his ability. There’s no real timeline on that. He’s 38, he can’t take a few years off, his health is really great. I hear his training is really great. He’s had some atrophy compared to years prior on the arms, triceps, I think he’s admitted to having some downsizing there. But he looked great at the Arnold. He could’ve probably placed a little better but I don’t want to discredit the people that did.”
‘Can Andrew Jacked win & shock the world?’ asks Cutler
The 49-year-old praised Andrew Jacked for his immense potential in the sport. He expressed his excitement about watching Andrew go up against Hunter Labrada and others at the nearing 2023 Texas Pro. For Cutler, the biggest question is if Jacked could do enough later this year to win the coveted Sandow trophy.
“I hear great things about Andrew too. The big showdown is going to be Texas. There’s going to be other guys too. I know there’s a lot of international shows but that’s going to be like what, who’s not going to qualify there. Those two guys [Andrew and Hunter] need to be in the lineup because they’re people we’re talking about and the question is, can Andrew come and win the Olympia and shock the world?”
Jay Cutler is currently on a mission to take his physique to the next level as part of the ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge for his 50th birthday. He revealed he’s gained 15 pounds in preparation for the challenge earlier this week.
This year’s competition in the Men’s Open division is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and competitive. Fans will be waiting in anticipation to see which competitors qualify and who ultimately takes the crown of Mr. Olympia.

Jay Cutler Says He’s Gained 15 Lbs During ‘Fit-for-50’ Challenge, Reveals New Physique Goals

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler continues to prove why he was such a dominant force in the IFBB Pro League. Having captured four Mr. Olympia titles, his legacy is set in stone yet he still offers fans engaging content on a regular basis. In the latest Cutler Cast Podcast, Jay discussed his physique goals for 2023 and talked about his diet and training en route to turning 50 years old.
During his tenure, Cutler was one of the sport’s biggest faces. When no one thought it was possible, Cutler managed to dethrone the great eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman in 2006. His accolades are on par with some of the best bodybuilders to ever compete. While Cutler was knocked off the throne by Dexter Jackson in 2008, he regained it a year later. He’s the only Men’s Open competitor to win back a Mr. Olympia title.
Cutler retired in 2013 after a decorated career. However, his love for training, dieting, and bodybuilding persists. Late last year, Jay Cutler announced that he planned to undergo a physique transformation. Immediately, fans suspected that a comeback was on the table but Cutler said he was taking on the challenge for personal fulfillment.

From physique updates to training sessions, Cutler has offered fans a consistent look into his transformation process. In a previous Cutler Cast Podcast, the 49-year-old stressed that he would only use testosterone replacement therapy. In addition, he said he planned to avoid more powerful compounds like Trenbolone.
Jay Cutler Reflects on ‘Striving to Be Known,’ & Discusses Diet/Training for 2023 Body Transformation
As of right now, Cutler’s focus is on getting big and lean.
“But at the same time, I always said I was going to get in my best shape in 10 years since I retired in 2013. I was 40. I’ll be 50 here in August. I was kind of contemplating whether I wanted to be super shredded, smaller… I just wanted to have the best version of me with what’s on hand. It’s kind of changed to be honest.
I just want to be able to say I can take my shirt off when I get up on a podium and speak or whatever, and people are like damn that’s an impressive physique which is right now there’s no question but I still wanted to have a point where it’s like okay, my condition is great, the water retention is not super, and the body fat is lower. The whole position is going to be as big and lean as possible but not to have – not to say I won’t, even now I have some striations, but not like toned down, ripped for a contest,” explained Jay  Cutler.
According to the bodybuilding icon, he’s gained 15 pounds since starting the fit-for-50 challenge. He specified that his food and training have been consistent. In addition, Jay is incorporating 40-60 minutes of cardio daily, which he says has made his skin feel different.

“I’ve put on 15 pounds, almost 15 pounds of weight,” said Cutler. “I’m getting rounder but you know, remember, I’m still seven and a half weeks, so this is really when the body, I want to start bringing in the shoulders. The training has been super consistent. The food, I ate six meals a day but I honestly missed when we were traveling some. It was very difficult.
As you know, I didn’t train for like four days in a row. I did cardio two of the four days but I realize now how important it is for everyday, especially when you eat six meals, you can’t take four days off in a row or my metabolism just doesn’t keep up.”
“I feel my skin sits differently. I feel – I’m doing cardio twice a day now the last two days I’ve done double. This started at the eight-week point. I started twice a day. So I do at least 20 minutes twice a day or I’m trying for like 30 minutes two sessions plus the training weight sessions so these are separate. Yes, I feel more healthy because I’m more on track.”
As for sustainability, Cutler doesn’t think he can maintain six meals a day for much longer.
“I just don’t think I’ll be able to be that committed to the food to be truthful. The food, six meals a day at 50, I mean, is it healthy long-term eating that much? I’m eating eight ounces of protein and at least 50 grams of carbs for meals, a lot of meals on certain days I cut down on the food. But I still have the carbs pretty much except for the last meal, well I add avocado to my egg whites. I have a strict schedule that I follow. Like I said, I was always cooking the Trifecta.”
Lastly, Cutler emphasized to anyone watching that in order to achieve fame, one must strive for excellence and triumph in their pursuits.

“I remember when I was striving to be known and it wasn’t about being known, it was about being successful competition-wise. What was the only way to get there? It was winning. Right? You had to have a talent where today, now… your voice, your opinions sometimes can be how you gather people’s attention.”
Aside from his own fitness endeavors, Cutler is a huge source of knowledge for those eager to learn training techniques. With summer here, Cutler recently showcased useful tips for sculpting abs. He also named his top three exercises for conditioning the muscle instead of building it.
Fans hope to see Jay Cutler guest pose at the upcoming 2023 Masters Olympia competition. Even without competing, Cutler has inspired millions with his relentless passion for bodybuilding.

Jay Cutler Shares His ‘Ultimate Fasted Cardio’ Routine for ‘Fit for 50’ Challenge

Jay Cutler Shares His ‘Ultimate Fasted Cardio’ Routine for ‘Fit for 50’ Challenge

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler has not lost his passion for working out despite moving on from professional competition years ago. Ahead of his 50th birthday, he’s taking on a challenge to level up his fitness. In a recent video posted on YouTube, Cutler shares the ‘ultimate cardio’ routine he’s following to get ready for the ‘Fit for 50’ challenge.
Jay Cutler first rose to prominence for his impressive physique as an IFBB Pro League Men’s Open competitor in the early 2000s. He displayed a stellar combination of freakish muscle mass, size, and detail. He went up against a plethora of top talent during his days of competing on stage, including fellow legend Ronnie Coleman, with whom he developed a fierce rivalry.
After falling short of the eight-time Mr. Olympia champion in four events, Cutler finally managed to dethrone Coleman and win his maiden Sandow trophy in 2006. He dropped the title to Dexter Jackson in 2008 after a successful title defense and reclaimed it the next year. He hung up his posing trunks with four Mr. Olympia and three Arnold Classic titles under his belt.
In Oct. 2022, Cutler declared his ambitions to transform his body as part of the ‘Fit for 50’ challenge for his 50th birthday. He gave fans a look into his preparations for the challenge with a monstrous physique update where he weighed in at 239.5 pounds earlier this year.

Cutler often educates his fanbase on a range of topics related to bodybuilding and fitness. He provided tips on building a complete chest and laid out three of his top movements for developing boulder shoulders last month. Then, he gave his take on adding size and staying lean by varying workout time. He promoted using morning workouts and fasted cardio to help cut down on stubborn body fat.
Jay Cutler left fans in awe of his huge physique with a massive update weeks ago. He went through a series of poses and identified a need to add muscle in his chest, shoulders, and legs. The 49-year-old offered a sleeve-busting arm workout designed for hypertrophy earlier this month. He utilized eight exercises targeting the biceps and triceps as he worked his way towards weighing 250 pounds in under two months.

Jay Cutler shares his ‘ultimate cardio’ routine for the ‘Fit for 50’ challenge

In a recent YouTube video, Jay Cutler shared the ‘ultimate cardio’ training plan he’s utilizing to transform his physique for the ‘Fit for 50’ challenge.
He laid out the equipment he likes to use along with the workout duration and timing.
“Fit for 50 challenge is in place. What is the ultimate cardio that I’m following?” said Cutler. “Now, I’m doing a majority of different types of cardio so I do the step mill. I think that’s always my go to to get the heart rate up. I focus on bike, sit down bike mostly, doing the treadmill and the elliptical.
“I have all these things at home although I like to do some at the gym after training. If I’m not doing my fasted cardio first thing in the morning which is 20 minutes a day right now, I do 20 minutes after training.
“That cardio’s going to kick in that metabolism. It’s going to allow me to eat a little more and lean out. Fit for 50 full effect.”
Jay Cutler revealed his top three exercises for training abs earlier this week. He stressed the importance of using a high rep range of 15 to 20 reps and focused on conditioning the muscle group instead of building muscle on it. He followed up by crushing a brutal high-volume leg workout for optimizing the gains.
Cutler’s latest offering provides new ways for fitness fans to level up their cardio game. It will be interesting to see how the workouts help him achieve an enhanced physique by the time he’s 50 in two months.

Jay Cutler Smashes High-Volume Leg Pump Workout for Mass Gain

Jay Cutler Smashes High-Volume Leg Pump Workout for Mass Gain

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler is back with another brutal workout demonstration. In a recent JayCutlerTV YouTube video, Cutler showcased a blood-pumping legs training session where he focused on building mass.
A pioneer and mainstay of the IFBB Pro League Men’s Open division, Cutler dominated his class with a combination of muscularity, detail, conditioning, and sheer willpower. Having dethroned ‘The King’ Ronnie Coleman in 2006, Cutler proved himself on the sport’s brightest stage. He remains the only man in the history of the Open class to ever win back an Olympia title that was lost, which he accomplished in 2009 after he was dethroned by Dexter Jackson the year prior.
In addition to his four Mr. Olympia titles (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010), the Massachusetts native won the Arnold Classic three times (2002, 2003, 2004). Following his epic rivalry with Coleman, Cutler remains an esteemed member of the bodybuilding community today.
Late last year, Jay Cutler announced that he was transforming his physique for a ‘fit for 50’ challenge. While fans thought he was teasing a comeback, Cutler later made it clear he had no intention of stepping foot on a competitive bodybuilding stage.

Documenting his latest physique goal, Cutler has offered fans an inside look into his preparations. He’s targeting 6-8% body fat during this transformation but also plans to add mass and lean out without the use of bulking diets. In his latest offering, the former Mr. Olympia detailed a brutal leg-day training session.
Jay Cutler Ponders Post-Training Thoughts, Fit for 50 Challenge, and Having ‘No Real Goal’
Check out Cutler’s leg workout below:

Leg Curl Machine – 2 warmup sets, three working sets, pyramiding the weight up peak set 180 pounds
Standing Leg Curl Machine (alternating) – 1 working set
Stiff leg Deadlift w/dumbbell – 3 sets 10-12 reps pyramiding the weight up
Walking Lunge w/Barbell – 8-10 reps per leg
Leg Extension Machine – 2 sets reps until he gets a pump
Inverted Leg press – 3 sets 10-12 reps
Unilateral Leg press Machine – 2 sets 10-12 reps
Roger Squat machine – 2 sets 9-12 reps

Cutler highlighted that the session mainly focused on quad and hamstring development.
“It will be quads and hamstrings today, we’re going to start with hamstrings, but I want to thank everyone for following along on YouTube. It’s been really firing off lately. We got a lot of great things coming in the works. Obviously, I’m doing this crazy transformation right now and it’s working really well.

I’m about eight weeks out on Saturday, so today is Thursday. So I’ll be close now but I was saying yesterday, it’s not going to end there. I’m never going to be satisfied. This is kind of just like a goal as far as getting my body primed and ready to go. I don’t know how long this final outcome is going to be but if we get passed my birthday which is eight weeks away and the challenge still moves forward and I think it’s going to drag a lot of people into it, I know it’s giving people a lot of motivation. That’s all you can ask for. There’s no real goal. I’m not getting back on stage,” said Jay Cutler.
After completing the workout routine, Cutler said he judges many of his sessions based on the pump he receives.
“We’re rolling into the next decade of my life man. I just wanted to do something really cool. I know a lot of you guys have been riding with me for a long time so I want to thank you for that.”
“We just finished legs, it was an awesome workout. Every day is progression. The pumps are getting better and that’s kind of the key. I always talk about how I judge all the workouts by the pump. As we get closer now, like I said, eight weeks this weekend, and we’re right in it now,” Cutler shared.
Cutler has kept a furious training pace since announcing his transformation. Fortunately for fans, many of his workouts have been published online. The last time the four-time Mr. Olympia tackled a session, he showed off an effective arm-building hypertrophy workout. In a separate undertaking, he revealed a few tips for building abs with summer on its way.
Jay Cutler continues to inspire fans with his dedication to fitness in retirement. His latest leg workout is a tough but effective way to build lower-body strength and muscle.

Jay Cutler Offers Tips for Sculpting Abs: ‘Remember You’re Trying to Condition Them, Not Build Muscle’

Jay Cutler Offers Tips for Sculpting Abs: ‘Remember You’re Trying to Condition Them, Not Build Muscle’

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler has managed to stay in astounding shape as he closes in on 50 years of age. In a recent offering to Instagram, Cutler shared his take on ab training and named crunches, hanging raises, and ropes as his favorite movements.
Jay Cutler was an imposing force during his bodybuilding career. His defined arms, chest, and detailed quads made him very difficult to stand against. He was also consistent and gritty, which helped him win a total of four Mr. Olympia titles. Having dethroned Coleman in 2006, Cutler continued to showcase his massive body on stage with great success. He pushed and defeated a slew of big names in the sport such as Kai Greene, Dennis Wolf, and Branch Warren.
Cutler’s rivalry with eight-time winner Ronnie Coleman was perhaps the most exciting in bodybuilding history. The two men were constantly pushing each other to new competitive heights. Cutler admitted that some of his workouts were inspired by Coleman’s high-volume training style. In addition, Cutler revealed that he was forced to eat 140 egg whites daily to retain enough size to compete with Coleman.

After retiring from bodybuilding, Cutler has kept a close eye on his fitness. He is approaching 50 years old but has maintained a fair balance of muscularity and conditioning. Before his next birthday, Cutler decided to transform his physique.
In the months to come, fans hope to see him guest pose in Aug. at the return of Masters Olympia following an 11-year absence. In his latest venture, he offered fans a quick lesson on ab training with summer abound.
Jay Cutler Gives Ab Training Tips, Says He Prefers Crunches, Hanging Raises, and Ropes
Cutler said he trains abs every other day and always focuses on 15-20 repetitions. He stressed that ab training is intended to condition the muscle, not ‘necessarily build’ it.
“Tips on ab training. I usually train abs every other day, especially when I’m training for a competition. Remember, the abs aren’t going to come out unless the body fat is low. But what is the ultimate rep range for your abs? I always focus on 15-20 repetitions.
Remember: you’re trying to condition the abs not necessarily build that muscle so I feel you need to do those exercises like the the crunches, like the ropes, like the hang raises, focus on 15-20 repetitions, condition the abs, get on the diet, and show the best physique. Summer is here,” Jay Cutler explained.

This isn’t the first time that Jay Cutler has offered up some useful training advice. Days ago, the bodybuilding icon shared an arm-building hypertrophy workout he used to win four Mr. Olympia titles. During the video, Cutler revealed that he was eating six meals daily. He admitted his goal was to achieve a full, round, and hard physique.
Additionally, Cutler is known for helping fans with workout techniques. Whether it’s his top three movements for building huge delts or a strategy for growing forearms and biceps, he understands how to maximize training results.
With his physique goal a primary focus, Cutler discussed ‘getting bigger’ and leaner without bulking recently. The 49-year-old said it’s a misconception that bulking diets are needed for adding quality size. However, Cutler mentioned that if leanness is the goal, then measures like fasted cardio and morning workouts would be best implemented.

As for PEDs, Cutler shared that he will only use testosterone replacement therapy for his latest transformation. When more extreme compounds like Trenbolone were discussed on his podcast, Cutler said he wasn’t interested.

4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler Shares Arm-Building Hypertrophy Workout

4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler Shares Arm-Building Hypertrophy Workout

Jay Cutler’s workout intensity has seemingly ramped up judging from his latest training session. In a JayCutler TV YouTube video, Cutler smashed an eight-exercise arms workout focused on hypertrophy as he continues making strides toward a better physique.
During his respective tenure, Cutler set himself apart from his peers with massive arms, a full chest, and some of the most defined quads in the sport’s history. His consistency and grit guided him to an Olympia title in 2006 after he dethroned the eight-time champion Ronnie Coleman. Despite their rivalry, Cutler admits some of his workouts were inspired by Coleman’s high-volume heavy weight strategy.
Having sailed off into the sunset with four Mr. Olympia victories, Cutler remains one of the best to ever throw on a pair of posing trunks. Even though he hasn’t appeared on stage in 10 years, fans continue to call for his return. While he won’t compete on stage, Cutler has made it clear he’s transforming his physique before his 50th birthday.

Fortunately for fans, he’s documented the process. In addition to sharing training sessions, Cutler underlined why nutritional demands have been so crucial to his goal. And now with August approaching, Cutler shared an exhausting arm workout.
Jay Cutler Shares Arm Workout for Hypertrophy
1- Triceps Press Down – 2 or 3 warm-up sets, 3-4 working sets2- Triceps Extension Machine – 3 sets as many reps as possible3- Seated Overhead Dumbbell Extension – 3 working sets of 12 reps4- Rope Press Down – 3 sets 12 reps5- Machine Biceps Curl – 3 working sets 12 reps 6- Standing Dumbbell Curl (alternating) – 3 sets  12 reps7- Preacher Machine Curls – 3 sets8- Cambered Bar Curl (wider grip) – 4 sets
Following the arms training session, Jay Cutler discussed some of his workout habits and goals. He aims to weigh 250 pounds in eight weeks.
“That was my arm workout. I’m not trying to overdo it a lot, I’m really just trying to get the benefit of each workout, not trying to change the game. Anything I do now and moving the tissue around, moving the food through, I’m going to grow. And that is the goal. I would love to hit 250 by the time we get to eight weeks. And we’ll see where we’re going to end up. I’m about four meals deep today. I’m eating about six meals a day right now.”
And then at eight weeks out, I’ll evaluate and maybe I’ll start throwing in a little cardio exercise but I’ll tell you the cardio is going to be a lot different from the past because I’m going to stick to less intense cardio. I’m going to do more bike work, I don’t know if I’ll get on a step mill because I’m not necessarily trying to get striated glutes with this kind of come down with my body weight. But I’m kind of touch and see. Remember, I’m going for the best shape I’ve been in 10 years.”
Cutler clarified that his physique goal doesn’t involve being shredded. Instead, he plans to showcase a balance of fullness, hardness, and roundness.

“Now that means I’m going to be full, hard, and round. I’m not trying to get super shredded. Okay, on my birthday I’m actually going to be dried out, diuretics and everything else, I’m just going to be in a walk-around best shape. So, that means if I take my shirt off at a show which possibly could happen by the way, I’m going to look a lot better than I did on the original video.”
“What I’m trying to do is get the workouts in later so I can get the fullness and really, like I did in 2010 and 2011 when Hany kind of trained me and put me on this whole different mindset that you should train after if you want to come in bigger, you need to train later and have at least four meals. Your body performs better guys. If you’re trying to get bigger, you’ll stay home and focus on eating those meals and your output will be a little less so when you go to the gym you’re utilizing all those calories,” Cutler said.
This is far from Cutler’s first progress update regarding his ‘fit-for-50’ physique transformation. In a previous JayCutlerTV episode, Cutler argued against bulking up. He shared that his goal was to keep his metabolism guessing while becoming ‘bigger and leaner’ at the same time.
Cutler’s latest physique challenge is a testament to his determination and willpower. In the months to come, bodybuilding fans around the world hope to see him guest pose at the upcoming 2023 Masters Olympia contest, taking place in Cluj Napoca, Romania.
