Jay Cutler, Milos Sarcev Talk Fantasy Battles: Jay vs Dorian Yates, Phil Heath vs. Ronnie Coleman
Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler left a storied career behind but still serves as a visible ambassador for the sport. In a recent Cutler Cast Podcast, Cutler and Milos Sarcev discussed past Mr. Olympias and how they’d fare against each other in hypothetical match-ups.
The Men’s Open division has undergone immense changes since the 1990s, which saw six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates‘ successful reign. He ushered in an era of mass monsters, a valuable blueprint that athletes have followed decades after his exit from the sport.
In 1998, Ronnie Coleman shocked the bodybuilding world. He brought an unparalleled level of size, conditioning, and vascularity. Not to mention, he’s considered one of the strongest bodybuilders to ever compete, having been made famous for his epic 2,300-pound leg press and 800-pound squat for two reps.
In 2006, Jay Cutler was the chosen one, after almost a decade-long reign, the Massachusetts native did the impossible: he took out his rival Coleman. Cutler held on to the title in 2007 in a controversial contest. Eventually, Cutler would lose his championship honors in 2008 to Dexter Jackson, only to become the first Open athlete to ever win back the Mr. Olympia title a year later.
In the mid-2000s, Phil Heath established himself as a champion under the guidance of Hany Rambod. With cartoonish muscle density and three-dimensional fullness, Heath tied Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s record of seven Mr. Olympia titles.
All of these Mr. Olympias took drastically different paths to establish their dynasties. In their latest offering to fans, Cutler and Sarcev looked closely at how these champions would have fared against each other had they shared the stage.
Jay Cutler & Milos Sarcev Talk Dorian Yates vs. Cutler/ Ronnie Coleman vs. Phil Heath
According to Milos Sarcev, he underestimated the hardness and completeness of Yates’ rugged physique. However, he believes “any version” of Cutler could stand against Yates had they competed.
“Dorian never had good arms but has lines… you know. I don’t think Dorian had the greatest arms, greatest shoulders, greatest chest, greatest abs, greatest legs but put it all together it’s like holy moly. Lat spread, he was killing everybody. Side chest and side triceps, I really didn’t think he’d look as good when I watched the thing, but then I was like what am I talking about he’s good.”
“They say it’s not even fair to compare [past champions from different eras]. Jay said you have to really see it to believe it and appreciate the kind of hardness and dryness, the fibrotic tissue, would 2009 Jay be overwhelmed by any version of Dorian? No. Dorian would not overwhelm you, right, for sure, right.”
“I didn’t have the crazy back and the hardness,” added Cutler.
“Your shoulders are wider, your arms are better,” replied Sarcev.
Even though Heath possessed a freakish and one-of-a-kind physique, Cutler believes Coleman would have defeated ‘The Gift.’
“It’s like arguing Phil Heath versus Ronnie Coleman. Phil had a lot of things going on, but I think if you put him next to Ronnie in his prime he would get overwhelmed a little bit, you know. I’m asking you for the greatest physique ever,” Jay Cutler said.
Before ending the discussion, Sarcev and Cutler agree the greatest physique of all time belongs to Ronnie Coleman.
“’98 Ronnie for me, yeah,” stated Sarcev.
“I think a lot of people would say that same thing,” Cutler said. “I’m a little disappointed people forget about those guys [Lee Haney] and we never talk about Arnold how he was great or how Sergio was great. Even Frank Zane and all these guys, the early guys, you have to take into account the era, the equipment they use. Think about how advanced everything is now.”
This isn’t the first time that Jay Cutler praised Coleman’s prime physique. He joined the Don’t Be Sour podcast recently, where he laid out why Ronnie’s physique has yet to be matched by a contemporary competitor. He specified that Coleman’s combination of crazy muscle density and conditioning made him an extraordinary talent in the sport.
Coleman’s body stands out as the best ever for Sarcev and Cutler. Though, the debate as to who possesses the greatest physique is never truly over.

Milos Sarcev and Jay Cutler Talk Big Ramy’s Future: ‘He’s 100% Not Doing 2023 Mr. Olympia’
Attention is quickly shifting to Men’s Open contenders expected to push each other at the next Mr. Olympia contest. In a recent Cutler Cast episode, Milos Sarcev discussed Samson Dauda’s confidence levels and laid out whether or not Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay plans to compete in November.
The bodybuilding world has seen plenty of notable changes in the league lately. Last December, mass monster Elssbiay was unable to repeat as champion. Instead, fans were treated to a three-man battle between Nick Walker, Derek Lunsford, and Hadi Choopan.
‘The Persian Wolf’ eventually won the title, which sent shockwaves through the community considering he used to compete as a 212 bodybuilder. Meanwhile, Big Ramy dropped gold and left Sin City in fifth place. He later committed to his career and assured fans he wouldn’t retire.
In March, the 35th Arnold Classic took place. Walker entered the contest as the highest-ranking Olympian. However, he was denied gold after Samson Dauda delivered the best package of his career. While some fans took issue with the outcome, Walker regretfully accepted his runner-up finish. As for Big Ramy, he brought a stellar look but was awarded fourth place.
Sarcev has been open about his progress with Samson Dauda. In preparation for the Arnold Classic, Sarcev revealed that Dauda incorporated trenbolone for the first time during contest prep, which seemingly paid off. As a result of the victory, Dauda emerged as a top threat to Choopan’s title at 2023 Mr. Olympia.
Milos Sarcev Highly Doubts Big Ramy Will Compete at 2023 Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler Says His ‘Arms Are Suffering’
Speculation about Big Ramy competing in November continues to dominate online discussions. Sarcev was the latest figurehead to suggest he sit out the November contest.
“He’s not big big Ramy, right? It’s not 3X it’s just XL, obviously, he’s probably not training and doing supplementation and everything. He looked great still. But we expect an ultimate freak, so Big Ramy would usually dominate the group of people if he steps on the stage. With five or six people he’d be the biggest one. I mean, he didn’t dominate. Samson was right there just as big or bigger.”
In a recent The Menace podcast, head judge Steve Weinberger made a special appearance. He explained that it would be best for Big Ramy and the longevity of his career to sit out of Mr. Olympia this year. Given that Ramy’s stem cell treatment can take up to six months to show results, perhaps the time away from the stage would revitalize his physique.
“Steve Weinberger said in a recent interview that he would want him to rest and have a good off-season to regain the muscle that he has lost due to those injuries, whatever. We won’t admit it or not. There is still – triceps is still not exactly. The back, shoulders, not exactly like they used to be. He’s 38 years old,” said Sarcev.
“The arms seem to be suffering a little bit right,” specified Cutler.
“Ramy? No 100% [he’s not doing the Olympia],” Milos Sarcev suspected.
Sarcev: ‘Complete Samson Dauda Believes He Can Beat All the Guys at 2023 Mr. Olympia’
According to Sarcev, Samson Dauda just started his Mr. Olympia prep.
“Samson has a complete package, like overall, he’s so impressive. I mean he’s 300-something pounds. He was not as heavy as normally because we took time off, rested, and everything. He’s just starting his Olympia prep. The combination of size, width, thickness, the shape, you know Samson has it and everybody… he’s going to be a problem. He is now equally motivated and confident like Nick would be, yeah, he could beat all the guys,” said Milos Sarcev.
When discussing Duada’s possible weaknesses, Sarcev suggested that he mainly needed to work on his back. Recently, Dauda appeared in a Muscular Development interview, mentioning that he could defeat Lunsford and Choopan with added detail from behind.
“It’s not a weakness, but we need to improve still width and thickness of the back. Because back shots… I don’t believe shows are won from the back, but it’s major. So, that’s the comments that he needed. Before he needed a little bit more width in the shoulders, now he has that. Nobody mentions it. He needs to be wider. Let’s say conditioning to be at that level of super hard condition guys like Derek from the back, Hadi from the front, some of those guys… to match that conditioning,” Sarcev explained.
Cutler argued shows are no longer won from the rear and said he didn’t have the best back during his respective career.
“Shows aren’t won from the back, but if you have a whole lot of other stuff, that’s what shows are won from. Listen, I probably didn’t have the best back of everyone, but obviously, I was wide. But, condition-wise, whatever, I still had a lot of other poses right,” added Jay Cutler.
In addition to Cutler and Sarcev, athletes rep Bob Cicherillo has made steady podcast appearances to lay out his thoughts on the upcoming 2023 Mr. Olympia show. Given Dauda’s impressive victory in Ohio, Bob predicted that he and Derek Lunsford are equal threats to Choopan later this year.
With the Mr. Olympia contest approaching in five months, fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to see what unfolds in the Men’s Open. Judging by Hadi Choopan’s physique updates, he is determined to defend his title at all costs.

Lee Priest Calls for Guest-Posing Seminar with Jay Cutler after 2023 Masters Olympia
Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler did not lose his passion for fitness after moving on from professional competition years ago. During his career, he battled it out with several notable names such as Australian bodybuilding veteran Lee Priest. In a recent episode of RxMuscle, Priest shared his thoughts on potentially facing Jay Cutler on stage in a guest-posing appearance at the 2023 Masters Olympia and called for a ‘Golden Era seminar.’
Jay Cutler made a name for himself with his insane muscle mass, size, and conditioning in the IFBB Pro League Men’s Open class. He won the Arnold Classic title three times and found Olympia glory in 2006 after placing second four times. His last appearance came at the 2013 Mr. Olympia, where he finished sixth and hung up his posing trunks as a four-time champion. He continued to work out regularly and stay in stellar shape post-retirement.
After an 11-year hiatus, the Masters Olympia is set to make a comeback on Aug. 25-27 in Cluj Napoca, Romania. The competition was started in 1994 to provide older bodybuilders an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of fans and vie for the title. Robby Robinson created history by winning the inaugural event whereas Vince Taylor etched his name in the record books with six titles under his belt. The show’s last edition was won by Dexter Jackson in 2012.
Given the impressive package Cutler boasts, there were rumors about his return to action for the upcoming 2023 Masters Olympia. He’s looking to level up his fitness game for his own ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge. He laid out his ambitions in the gym and believes he could achieve them with proper nutrition, diet, and only using TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) last month. However, he later shut the door on competing again.
Lee Priest opened up on the possibility of signing up for the event earlier this year. As much as he would’ve liked to compete, Priest revealed he would not be able to due to his chest atrophy and other health challenges.
Jay Cutler and IFBB head judge Steve Weinberger announced the full roster of all 10 divisions for the contest a few weeks ago. Former 212 Olympia champion Kamal Elgargni goes into the show as the betting favorite to win the Open title. Following the announcement, Priest called on the organizers to revamp the eligibility criteria and raise the qualification age to 50+ instead of 40.
Lee Priest talks about chances of guest-posing against Jay Cutler at the 2023 Masters Olympia
In a recent YouTube video, Lee Priest shared his thoughts on potentially going against Jay Cutler in a guest-posing appearance at the 2023 Masters Olympia.
Priest believes Cutler would rather do a guest-posing showing instead of competing.
“He did say he might take his shirt off, joked around about guest posing that he might take his shirt off but he said he’s definitely not competing,” said Priest. “But he said he could take his shirt off and maybe guest pose or something like that. I’d say it could be more of that than competing again.”
When asked if he would pose next to Cutler, Priest voiced his hesitation and seemed to be against the prospect.
“I don’t get invited to go anywhere. It’s a bit late now I haven’t got much prep time. My birthday’s coming up in July. I’ll be 51.”
Priest calls for a ‘Golden Era seminar’ with Cutler

The 50-year-old suggested hosting a similar event where competitors of yesteryears could pose in front of fans without the pressure of competition.
“I always said, you get a good promoter, if you had like Kevin, Flex, get in shape or like you did back then like you have Jay now, you could probably have Victor, myself, a few who could over 12-16 weeks get in decent shape. I say don’t compete just have them do a golden era seminar where they do a seminar and a bit of posing would be great.”
Lee Priest offered some of his best tips on effectively performing bicep preacher curls to maximize pump using different rep ranges, equipment, and grip variations two months ago. He followed up by revealing the difference in his training and diet from when he was in his 20s to now at the age of 50.
2023 Masters Olympia will feature Michelle Brent, a 65-year-old bodybuilder with over 36 years of experience. Hidetada Yamagishi will also be in attendance as a frontrunner for the title.
Jay Cutler opened up on his ambitions to lower his body fat to six to eight percent for the body transformation challenge earlier this month. He showed off his shredded package in a physique update two weeks ago and provided another jacked update where he weighed 240 pounds days later.
Whether Cutler competes at the show or not, a guest-posing appearance would send fans into a frenzy over witnessing the iconic competitor take to the stage again.

Ronnie Coleman Criticizes His ‘Horrible’ Olympia-Winning Physique in Throwback Photo with Jay Cutler
Legendary bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman is widely regarded as one of the greatest competitors of all time. He dominated the IFBB Pro League and shared a heated on-stage rivalry with fellow legend Jay Cutler. In a recent throwback post made on Instagram, Coleman bashed his Olympia-winning physique in the off-season posing snap with Cutler.
Ronnie Coleman first gained attention for his freakish muscle mass, size, and conditioning as a Men’s Open contender in the late 90s. He came out on top of his first Mr. Olympia appearance with a dominant victory over Flex Wheeler. After the win, Coleman went on a commanding reign that saw him ward off the budding talent and defend the title successfully seven times in a row. One of the toughest competitors he faced during his days of competition was Jay Cutler.
Cutler emerged as a promising contender who battled it out with Coleman on the Olympia stage several times. He presented a tough threat but kept falling short of Coleman until he finally dethroned him in 2006.
Since stepping away from professional competition, the pair have put their competitive rivalry behind them. The two joined social media fitness influencer Jesse James West for a collaborative upper-body training session earlier this year. They reflected on competing against each other as Coleman admitted how hard the loss to Cutler was for him.
Ronnie Coleman And Jay Cutler
Ronnie Coleman suffered from a series of health challenges and underwent multiple surgeries stemming from his intense training methods. He’d maintained a candid attitude about the pain he endured throughout the years. Fortunately, things turned around after he started stem cell injections nearly a year ago. He reported positive results from the treatment and revealed the pain subsided completely.
‘The King’ laid out his four favorite bodybuilding poses of all time two months ago. Then, he teamed up with former 212 Olympia champ and 2022 Mr. Olympia runner-up Derek Lunsford for a grueling back and biceps training session a week later.
Jay Cutler is one of the few athletes to have retired without any major injuries. He has kept up a high level of personal fitness and working towards his personal ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge before turning 50 this August. He left the fans stunned with a jacked physique update earlier this month.
Cutler heaped praises on Coleman’s physique and believes no other competitor has come close to the package he presented in his prime. He followed up by detailing his methods for developing a massive chest and provided three movements for building boulder shoulders about two weeks ago.
Ronnie Coleman criticizes his Olympia-winning physique in off-season throwback photo with Jay Cutler
In a recent Instagram post, Ronnie Coleman bashed his physique in a throwback photo where he posed on stage next to Jay Cutler in the 2005 off-season.
“@daveliberman sent me this last night to remind me as I am crushing the next 10.5 weeks toward my goal,” wrote Cutler.
“This was 2005/06 when @ronniecoleman8 and I would guest pose week after week together before the hype of social media 16 weeks out onstage full offseason My weight 300 lbs Ronnie was 320 lbs here.”
Coleman weighed in with his take on the old physiques of the two.
“Hey where is my other arm,” commented Coleman. “I’ve been out angled by missing an arm. We are both out of shape and we both look horrible. It’s all good though. That’s what the off season was for, to be off, sometimes way way off.”
Jay Cutler opened up about his ambitions to add muscle mass while maintaining his lean build for the body transformation challenge two weeks ago. He showed off his shredded package in a physique update where he weighed 240 pounds.
Ronnie Coleman opened his own Metroflex gym in Tampa, Florida a few days ago. He reflected on his career and mingled with fans for the launch of the training facility.
Coleman’s latest comment goes to show the champion mindset he carried to become the winningest Mr. Olympia athlete in history.

Jay Cutler Shows Off Ripped 240-Lb Physique Update & Posing Session Before Turning 50
Jay Cutler continues to make strides in the gym and kitchen as he sets his sights on his latest physique transformation. In a JayCutlerTV interview, Cutler revealed he’s tipping the scales at 240 pounds and plans to achieve more fullness in his chest, shoulders, and legs in the coming months.
As an active Men’s Open pro, Jay Cutler reached the top of the sport with an intense work ethic, grit, and consistency. He is famous for his rivalry with Ronnie Coleman, who is known for winning a total of eight Mr. Olympia titles, tied with Lee Haney for the most ever. Meanwhile, Cutler managed to win four Mr. Olympias during his respective tenure.
In 2006, Cutler dethroned Coleman, a feat he made possible with sharp conditioning and an impeccable lower body. While Cutler lost the title in 2008 to Dexter Jackson, he regained his status as champion a year later in what many consider one of the greatest comebacks in modern IFBB Pro League history.
Since his retirement in 2013, Cutler’s popularity and name recognition is at an all-time high. The four-time Mr. Olympia routinely examines the Men’s Open division of today. Even though he’s happy following a decorated career, Cutler said he planned to transform his physique last year. Initially, fans thought he might have been preparing for a comeback. However, Cutler dismissed that idea and explained that he started this ongoing fitness journey for personal fulfillment before turning 50 years old.
Jay Cutler Turns Heads with Fit-for-50 Shredded Physique Update, Plans to Get Fuller
Jay Cutler won’t compete at the upcoming 2023 Masters Olympia, but the bodybuilding legend has made it clear he’s planning an appearance. It remains uncertain whether or not he will guest pose, but Jay promised to show off his physique on stage. Check out the latest progress from Jay Cutler below:
“Alright, so we’re going to show the physique because I actually start my 12 weeks this weekend. Not to say I haven’t been training, but I’ve been trying to eat like six meals. My weight is close to about 240. Like I said, every week, I’m going to kind of showcase a little bit of the physique and show you guys kind of what I’m working with a little bit.”
“Obviously, I’m trying to stay in great condition and gain the size. You can see, I definitely have a lot of work to do to fill up, especially in the backside I’m sure. I can’t really see my back,” explained Cutler. “At the starting point. I just got to get really a lot fuller in here the legs. Obviously, my leg is always smaller on this side [left] it’s going to be about filling that out. Getting fuller through the chest and shoulders, especially here, my rear delts, to have that size and tighten everything up through here,” Cutler said.
YouTube/JayCutlerTV
During his recent YouTube video, Cutler demonstrated a couple of mandatory poses. Cutler, who has been away from competition for over 10 years, looks to be improving day by day. On the horizon, Cutler stressed that he plans to add fullness to his legs, delts, back, chest, and shoulders.
This is far from the first time Cutler has opened up about details pertaining to his fit-for-50 challenge. With his 50th birthday in August, Cutler said 6-8% body fat is the goal and shared that he was entering ‘uncharted territory’ after his last update, which featured a legendary quad-stomp-inspired training session.
Aside from diet and training, Cutler also discussed his steroid protocols. Given his age and the subsequent risk factor, Cutler underlined that he will achieve this transformation without the use of harder compounds such as trenbolone. Instead, the Massuchessets native said he’s using a strict regimen of testosterone replacement therapy.
Jay Cutler’s progress is a testament to his hard work and dedication to bodybuilding. Fans are excited to see him make a special appearance at the 2023 Masters Olympia show, scheduled for August 25-27 in Cluj Napoca, Romania.

Jay Cutler Getting ‘Bigger, Leaner’ Without Bulking & Talks Keeping the Metabolism Guessing
Jay Cutler’s fit-for-50 challenge is officially underway as the bodybuilding legend admits he’s now eating six meals a day again. In a recent JayCutler TV video, Cutler challenged some bulking misconceptions in bodybuilding and revealed he’s weighing 239 pounds.
During his illustrious career, Cutler managed to take home a total of four Mr. Olympia titles. He’s the only man in history to win back an Open title that was lost on the Olympia stage. Cutler also holds the distinction of having dethroned the eight-time Olympia-winning machine Ronnie Coleman in 2006.
Cutler’s last competition came in 2013, but his passion for the sport carried into retirement. Aside from breaking down threats of today’s Men’s Open class, the 49-year-old announced late last year his plans to transform his physique. Initially, fans thought he might be interested in a return, but Cutler explained that he’s taking these measures in hopes of getting in the best shape possible before turning 50.
While rebuilding his body, Cutler has routinely stressed that he won’t use performance-enhancing drugs except for testosterone. In addition to physique updates, Cutler has offered fans a look into several of his training sessions.
Jay Cutler: “It’s a Misconception That You Have to Bulk In Order to Put Size On”
According to Cutler, those looking to add size should emphasize meals four, five, and six. However, if leanness is the goal, Cutler advocated for morning workouts and fasted cardio.
“So this is kind of crazy, I’ve actually be training after my first meal, this is the first day that I’ve actually eaten a bunch of meals and then headed to the gym. Even when I was in Boston recently, I ate usually one meal and then went a trained. Like I said, I always felt my best after four meals, so if there’s a specific time a day I favor… I would always say that after four meals is most beneficial if you’re trying to put on size, but if you’re trying to lean out, I think that the early morning workouts or even fasted workouts can be particularly more helpful in my eyes.”
“Ideally, ideally, what I’d like to do is hit the metabolism several times a day, that’s why when we trained for contests and a lot of times when I was at my absolute best, I did cardio first thing in the morning. I trained one session, ate two meals, came back to the gym, trained with weights then did cardio before I went to bed, so I was actually hitting the metabolism four times a day.
Sometimes, you know, that can be a bit taxing. If that’s like the last eight weeks in preparation where I would train basically for four months, this time around, I’m doing this whole fit-for-50 thing and I’m doing a transformation over 12 weeks. Why I chose 12 weeks is that I’m already at a pretty decent level of body fat. But ideally, my goal is to get bigger and get leaner at the same time,” said Jay Cutler.

Cutler says it’s a misconception that size can only be added with a bulk. He plans to add size and lean down simultaneously.
“For you out there with the misconception that you have to bulk in order to put size on, I’m going to prove you can put size on and lean down at the same time. The workouts are important but the nutrition is absolutely more important, to eat with more consistency.”
“I am 239 and a half. 239 and a a half, so getting up there. Remember I said I wanted to be 235 for this so,” Cutler added.
This isn’t the first time that Cutler has brought up bulking. In a Cutler Cast podcast last year, the Massachusetts native disclosed that he favors ‘lean bulking’ over dirty bulking. At the time, Cutler wasn’t concerned with muscle mass but highlighted that most people nowadays prefer to maintain leaner physiques.
At almost 240 pounds, fans are looking forward to seeing Cutler’s physique in the near future. He won’t be competing, but recently promised he would step on stage with his shirt off at the 2023 Masters Olympia contest, taking place in Romania this August.

Jay Cutler Shares Keys for Building a Full Chest & Top 3 Movements for Monster Delts
Legendary bodybuilder Jay Cutler ruled the roost during his Men’s Open pro career. Although he hung up his posing trunks years ago, he still stays connected with the bodybuilding community. In recent videos uploaded on YouTube, Cutler shared the keys to building a full chest. In addition, he offered his three favorite movements for developing monster delts.
Jay Cutler dominated the Men’s Open class with freakish muscle mass, size, and conditioning. He enjoyed a successful career that saw him win three Arnold Classic titles and four Mr. Olympias. He’s credited for sharing one of the fiercest rivalries in the sport against fellow bodybuilding icon Ronnie Coleman, whom he dethroned for his maiden Sandow trophy in 2006. He decided to move on from competition after a final sixth-place finish at the 2013 Mr. Olympia.
Cutler lends his voice to the trending topics of bodybuilding. In March 2023, Cutler weighed in on the results of the 2023 Arnold Classic, where Samson Dauda won the title in a close-fought contest. Cutler believes the competition was razor-thin and any of the top four could have got the nod. With the rise of more aesthetic contenders in the Open, Cutler sees a bright future ahead for the division.
Cutler has not lost his passion for working out. He continues to train regularly and is working on improving his physique for the ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge. He gave fans a look into his preparations with an insanely shredded physique update weeks ago. Then, he laid out his training/diet philosophy post-retirement and disclosed his plan to stick to TRT (testosterone replacement therapy).
Jay Cutler pushed back on the misrepresentation of steroid users in mainstream media recently. He also gave his take on whether Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was natural. Looking closely, Jay theorized The Rock was likely using TRT to maintain his insane muscularity.
Earlier this month, Cutler offered the high-protein diet he was using for the transformation challenge. He also opened up about his ambitions to improve certain parts of his body, such as his legs, biceps, and lats.
Jay Cutler shares keys for building a full chest
In a recent YouTube clip, Jay Cutler shared some crucial tips for filling out a stubborn chest. He highlighted the importance of isolation movements and concentrating during reps to get the best results.
“My most stubborn muscle to overcome was my chest,” said Cutler. “Now, I had really wide shoulders so my shoulders took the place of a lot of my pressing moment so I had a chest that started from the bottom and ended halfway up. I had to focus really on a lot of dumbbell work, really concentration. I mean pushups can be a great exercise to stimulate your pecs.
“But at the same time remember focus on your repetitions, stick to your incline movements and sometimes those isolateral movements where you’re doing one side at a time can be very beneficial to developing the full chest look.”
Cutler shares 3 exercises for monster delts
The 49-year-old offered three of his favorite exercises that helped him build some of the biggest shoulders in bodybuilding.
“Top three delt movements,” said Cutler. “I had some of the biggest delts in bodybuilding when I was at my reign for Mr. Olympia. So I always was focused on number one, my rear delts movement. So my rear cables, crossovers was my go-to exercise. I also did the bent-over lateral dumbbell movement which was very great for developing the shoulders.
“But we can’t get away from the most important, which is the seated side lateral raise, which will give you that huge cap in the delts. You guys want to walk around and go sideways through the door, make sure you do these three movements.”
Jay Cutler provided a quad-stomp-inspired lower-body training routine a week ago. He plans to cut down his body fat to the 6-8% range by the end of the year. He followed that up with an unreal physique update showing off his latest progress.

Jay Cutler: “Since Ronnie Coleman Stepped Away, I Don’t Know If Anyone Has Come Close to His Physique”
Bodybuilding icon Jay Cutler believes Ronnie Coleman’s physique has stood the test of time. In a recent Don’t Be Sour podcast, Cutler discussed Coleman’s next-level physique, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the role of steroids in bodybuilding.
Ronnie Coleman cemented himself as an all-time great with eight Mr. Olympia titles from 1998-2005. Sharing the stage with legends like Flex Wheeler, Kevin Levrone, Shawn Ray, and Chris Cormier, many consider Coleman to be one of the greatest bodybuilders to ever compete.
In 2006, Ronnie Coleman was dethroned by his rival Jay Cutler, who managed to secure a total of four Mr. Olympia victories. However, Cutler was defeated by Dexter Jackson in 2008. Ultimately, Cutler would become the only Men’s Open pro to win back an Olympia title, which he accomplished in 2009 while delivering his iconic quad-stomp pose.
And while it’s been almost 15 years since Coleman stepped on stage, his successor, Cutler, believes no one in the IFBB Pro League has come close to matching the sheer size, volume, and conditioning he displayed throughout his prime.
Jay Cutler Compares Legacies of Ronnie Coleman & Arnold Schwarzenegger
Cutler believes bodybuilders today have more advantages than athletes who trained during Schwarzenegger’s era.
“At his point, where bodybuilding was, he was ahead of it, he won seven in a row, I mean some of them he didn’t really have a lot of competition, they weren’t necessarily paid to be bodybuilders on that level where today there’s great revenue to be a bodybuilder right? You get paid and win money.”
In Jay’s honest opinion, no one has ever come close to Coleman’s physique.
“By the physique and you know… the transition of time, just Ronnie pushed the physique level to just the crazy conditioning, muscle density quality right? Where, you know, he was like a powerlifter and a bodybuilder together; he broke all weight records and had a crazy physique. To be honest, I mean since Coleman stepped away, I don’t know if anyone has even come close to his physique,” said Jay Cutler.
There have been plenty of great champions, but Cutler believes Coleman separated himself from his peers with unmatched size.
“Phil Heath was really good, but not as big and balanced as Coleman was on a size scale, but Phil held his own. Not to say Dexter Jackson hasn’t been great or Big Ramy or Shawn Rhoden or Brandon Curry,” added Cutler.
Cutler conceded that Arnold Schwarzenegger has done more for the sport than Coleman given his ability to break boundaries and trailblaze.
“Arnold has done definitely was more on a total scale, I mean to be an actor, the politician, yeah, put the Olympia on the map, like that’s why you could really do this circular pattern of what a GOAT is. It just depends on your description of what the greatest of all time is.”
Cutler Opens Up on How Steroids Have Changed Since Schwarzenegger’s Era
According to Cutler, enhancements, training, and workout theories have changed substantially since Scwarzenegger’s time on stage. He added that bodybuilders are now afforded the opportunity to fund themselves better with social media.
“Definitely the enhancements changed, but the nutrition changed a lot. The equipment that we train on was way different. Yes, free weights and the training theories — like volume training, I think Arnold overtrained himself a lot, they would spend all day working out and not following a nutrition pattern that would fulfill that. Now, as you know, the rest and the growth is done out of the gym. I think their perception was most of the growth was done inside the gym. I feel like the recovery process, remember, now, people are paid to do this so they can allow themselves not to go out and work a secondary job and instead fund themselves with a career.”
Back when he competed, Cutler mentioned there were times when he needed ‘exotic’ drugs which required him to go overseas.
“Preparing for each year’s contest, whether you needed exotics or whatever else and that was not legal to get. I mean, at certain times you could maybe buy things overseas, but you still need to bring them to the United States or whatever else,” said Cutler. “People can get in trouble [for steroids] but remember, the manufacturing, you’re talking about compounding, steroids to whatever else, those seem to be the big reports but if you’re using for general use, I don’t know what the ramifications of that are. I just know it’s something that some people are willing to take to succeed in what they do.”
The bodybuilding icon stressed that protocols differ depending on the person. When asked if it was possible to win Mr. Olympia drug-free, Cutler dismissed it as a possibility.
“Every guy is not on the same protocol. Yes, certain guys have to take more or less and there’s certain protocols that people use. Is it necessary? You can do a contest without using and kinds of drugs, but you’ll be at a disadvantage because people ahead of you will use compounds that you’re not. Genetics can only take you so far if that makes sense. Yes [you have to use steroids to win] the current Mr. Olympia, yes.”
This isn’t the first time that Jay Cutler took a closer look at performance-enhancing drugs in bodybuilding. During a recent Cutler Cast podcast, the Massachusetts native revealed that he generally cycled on and off steroids every few months. Cutler, who competed against Coleman, admires his rival’s physique for its perfect combination of mass, definition, and shape. Considering his overall package, Cutler is confident that no one has come close to what ‘The King’ presented in his prime years.

Jay Cutler Shares Jacked Physique Update Ahead of ‘Fit for 50’ Transformation Challenge
Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler dominated the IFBB Pro League Men’s Open division in the mid-2000s with his monstrous muscle mass and size. While he moved on from professional competition years ago, he has kept up an insanely high fitness level. In a recent post made on Instagram, Cutler shared a jacked physique update ahead of his ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge.
Jay Cutler presented one of the best packages of any Open competitor during his days of competing on stage. He shared a fierce rivalry with legendary bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman. Cutler racked up three Arnold Classic titles while taking four silvers at Mr. Olympia, falling short of the eight-time Mr. Olympia champ on each occasion. In 2006, Cutler returned with a vengeance and finally won his maiden Sandow trophy. He defended the title successfully the next year before getting dethroned by Dexter Jackson in 2008. He reclaimed the title and hung up his posing trunks with four wins under his belt.
Cutler has not lost his passion for working out. He’s working on achieving his best look outside of competition as part of his personal ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge.
Earlier this year, Cutler gave fans a look into his chest training techniques. He laid out the four exercises he used to target the chest after pairing the session with a brief calves workout routine. Then, he left the fans stunned with a massive physique update as part of the challenge. The update ignited speculation about whether Cutler would make a comeback for the returning 2023 Masters Olympia. However, renowned coach Chris Aceto shut down the talks quickly.

Cutler is confident he could improve his physique through proper nutrition, training, and TRT (testosterone replacement therapy). He argued against using other steroids or amping up the intensity based on his existing package last month.
Jay Cutler broke down his training style in comparison to six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates a few weeks ago. Cutler believed in using high-volume routines in stark contrast to Yates’ high-intensity training methods where he’d push himself to near failure in every session. He also reported eliminating fasted cardio from his routine.
Last month, Cutler joined forces with Classic Physique standout Urs Kalecinski for a heavy back workout. He lauded the rising German sensation’s potential and encouraged him to increase his presence in the American market.
The 49-year-old laid out the high-protein diet he’s utilizing in preparation for the body transformation challenge along with a shredded physique update last week.

In a recent Instagram post, Jay Cutler shared an impressive physique update ahead of his ‘Fit for 50’ body transformation challenge.
He revealed he tipped the scales at 239.5 pounds in the update.
“239.5. It begins,” wrote Cutler.
Jay Cutler gave his take on the 2023 Pittsburgh Pro earlier this week. He backed former 212 Olympia champ and Men’s Open sensation Derek Lunsford to turn in another stunning performance. He also extended his support for some of the other elite contenders, including Nick Walker, Samson Dauda, and former two-time Mr. Olympia Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay.
Cutler offered an intense lower body training routine inspired by quad-stomp a few days ago. He opened up on his ambitions to get to a lower body fat percentage, preferably between 6 and 8 percent this year.
Based on the latest update, Cutler appears to be in good shape and will likely crush his goal by the time his 50th birthday comes around.

Dana Linn Bailey Joins Jay Cutler, Defends Natural Status, Talks Health Scares & Thyroid Issues
Dana Linn-Bailey is a pioneer of the growing Women’s Physique division. In a recent Cutler Cast podcast, Linn-Bailey discussed a number of topics including breast implants, competing drug-free, thyroid issues, and Kai Greene’s influence on her posing routines.
Despite struggling to find her footing in the IFBB Pro League, Dana Linn-Bailey would eventually carve out a successful career, having graced the stage with a unique balance of muscularity, conditioning, and detail. Her striated chest and shoulders helped her reach the pinnacle of bodybuilding in 2013 when she claimed her lone Olympia title in the newly created Women’s Physique category.
While she would surrender gold to Juliana Malacarne in 2014, Dana continues to prove herself in the training room and online. Since stepping away from the sport, she’s built a successful empire, boasting over 2 million followers on Instagram and half a million on YouTube.
Dana’s ability to create engaging content online has only bolstered her name recognition within the bodybuilding and fitness communities. She has taken part in brutal workouts with four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler, as well as Hany Rambod, who coached Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan to first and second at last year’s 2022 Olympia.
Sitting down with Cutler, DLB spoke about breast implants and whether or not she uses steroids. In addition, she discussed health problems stemming from a Rhabdomyolysis infection and a thyroid condition.
Dana Linn-Bailey Looks Back on Breast Implant Pressures and Talks ‘Natty or Not’ Status
Linn Bailey ultimately decided that she didn’t want the procedure despite what it could have done to further her career.
“As a competitor, you want – your wanting to do, like what if I stopped training the way I trained and I became a pro Figure girl, I wouldn’t have been the first Physique winner; I followed what I wanted and I just think it’s such a weird decision to even think, just not getting boob implants.”
“We sat down because I wanted to do this thing, and I wasn’t doing well. I thought, ‘Cool, I’m not going to get sponsored, none of this is going to be happening, I won’t be there unless I do well in this sport.’ So I sat down, ‘Do I get them so I actually do well?’ He’s like [her husband] he just asked me, ‘Do you want them?’ I’m like, ‘Not really.’ Because again, I went back to, ‘How am I going to bench?’” said Bailey.
“We just sort of moved forward with it [not getting implants], he’s like, ‘You’re perfect the way you are, you’re getting attention no one else is getting by being you. So there’s something there.’”
According to Dana, she suffers from hyperthyroidism. Having considered a comeback, Dana said if she followed through, she would prove her natural status by receiving drug tests in the weeks leading up to the show.
“If I travel a lot my labs will be off because stress messes with your thyroid, the thyroid messes up everything. It’s something I have to regulate all the time. Every year, I was always like, yeah, I was like maybe I’ll come back, I feel like I need to do something. And Rob’s always been the one like, ‘No don’t do it.’ He’s so… I just felt like it would be great for business.”
“There’s a part of me that just wants to see what the heck I would look like on stage but I don’t want to see myself next to the girls that are winning now,” laughs Bailey.
“Cool, I’m going to use this, if I’m going to compete, I’ll get drug tested every single week leading up to the show to just be like, ‘Suck it guys.’ They’ll probably just say I had a doctor alter it, it’s okay I’ll never win it’s fine. That was going to be my, ‘Okay, if I do compete I’m going to do it at a different angle.’ Only to prove, that hey you can do this. It takes 30 weeks for me [a prep drug-free].”
Linn-Bailey Details Health Struggles, Names Kai Greene As Biggest Posing Inspiration
In addition to problems with her thyroid, Dana revealed that she contracted Rhabdomyolysis and said it caused her liver to fail.
“Usually with Rhabdomyolysis it affects your liver your pee will be like brown a brownish, it will be discolored because it’s breaking everything down, but my pee was fine, and she thought that was so weird and but she said, ‘I’m pretty sure you have rhabdo.’ Like, ‘You shouldn’t have done the GHDs it’s a huge no-no in the CrossFit world, they shouldn’t have let you do that.”
“I went to the doctor probably by Friday, they took my labs, Saturday or finally got them back a day or two, this is like a week later, my labs were astronomical. I can only imagine what they probably were on Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday. So literally, my liver was not – I was in liver failure.”
Even though she didn’t have a lot of female bodybuilding idols, Dana was inspired by the detail and artistry of Kai Greene’s posing skills.
“I’m such a meathead. All my favorite bodybuilders were all men, I never looked at women. Like Kai [Greene] as far as posing and stuff – like a lot of my routines I used to just watch videos of him posing and a lot of the moves and lot of my poses are from him.”
Given her decorated career and active lifestyle, there’s a lot to learn from DLB. From building bigger biceps to her three favorite squat tips, she makes her fans feel included. She also shares her personal struggles and achievements, inspiring others to overcome their own challenges and pursue their goals.
Unafraid to speak her mind, Dana Linn-Bailey is a trailblazer of the sport who paved the way in helping make the Women’s Physique division one of the most exciting in the IFBB Pro League.
