Tiffany Chapon Beats Squat World Record During Training Session

Tiffany Chapon Beats Squat World Record During Training Session

Tiffany Chapon completed a squat slightly over the world record in a recent training session.
A new wave of powerlifters is coming and Tiffany Chapon is one of the up-and-coming athletes to watch. The 20-year-old lifter already has a strong resume and continues to impress. In training, the 47kg competitor keeps putting up big numbers and this could lead to something special in competition.
Most recently, Chapon shared a video on Instagram showing a 153.5kg (338.4lb) squat. It is important to note that this is one full kilogram more than the current world record in the 47kg division.
“Squat: 153.5 kg (unofficial wr). I failed this bar 5 minutes before but I’m slowly learning to understand and listen to myself. I’m happy the technical adjustments are paying off.”

While Chapon’s lift cannot be officially recognized as a world record, it is noteworthy that she was able to top it in training. This is a lift that is more than three times her bodyweight at the time. Chapon admitted that she failed the first attempt but was able to make adjustments to succeed the next time around. This means that she is learning each day and it a scary thought for opponents.
Chen Wei-Ling of Taiwan holds the current world record but Chapon could be coming for it soon. This is not the first time that the French powerlifter has put up big numbers in the gym.

Tiffany Chapon also topped the world record total of 408kg (899.5lb) in a training session. This record is held by Heather Connor. Unofficially, chacon added a 96kg bench and has totaled 411kg in total. She has put in some serious work since beginning her career at age 19.
This is when she made her debut during the 2020 FFForce Silent Worker Meet. Since then, Chapon has appeared in six sanctioned events and has won four of them. She now competes at 47kg but has multiple world records in the 43kg division. These include raw squat (122.5kg), deadlift (146.5kg), and total (339kg).
During the 2021 FFForce Girl Power competition, Chapon put up her best day. She posted a total of 402.5kg, which is currently the this heaviest total on record in IPF competition. Wei-Ling and Connor are the only two competitors to log a heavier total.
Tiffany Chapon has already logged plenty of world record lifts in her young career. As she matures a bit in the sport, there are more to go down. Chapon could have her eye on the squat record next given her recent lifts and is learning the technical side of the sport. This means she is going to improve and gain strength rapidly.

17-Year-Old Karlos Nasar Snatches 175kg in Training Session

17-Year-Old Karlos Nasar Snatches 175kg in Training Session

Karlos Nasar matched the current world record in the 81kg division.
Youth powerlifting is something that is beginning to take some huge steps forward. The talent level is growing each year and it is because of athletes like Karlos Nasar. The 17-year-old powerlifter from Bulgaria has put up some big numbers and that continued in a recent training session.
In a recent workout, Nasar completed a 175kg (385.8lb) snatch. This matched the current world record in the 81kg division. the record is held by China’s Li Dayin. This lift obviously cannot be recognized as a world-record lift because it happened in training but it does not take away from the accomplishment, especially at 17 years old.

Dayin set the world record of 175kg during the 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships. This competition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This was not the first time the record was broken. Previously, Lu Xiaojun set the originally mark of 172kg (379.2lb) at the 2018 Weightlifting World Championships. At the same competition, Mohamed Ehab set a new mark by a single kilogram.
Karlos Nasar could be the next big thing in the 81kg division. He is just 17 years old but has been a force in Youth competition. Nasar won back-to-back titles during the 2018 and 2019 European Youth Weightlifting Championships. He also won the 2019 Youth World Weightlifting Championship title in the 73kg division.

At the 2021 European championships, Nasar finished second but earned multiple Junior European records. He snatched 163kg (359.4lb) to set a record and completed a 206kg (454.2lb) clean & jerk. This added together for a total of 369kg (813.5lb). This came after Nasar was also victorious during the 2020 Youth World Cup.
Karlos Nasar has been putting up some big numbers in training recently. This means that there could be something special coming next time he steps on stage. Nasar has already matched the world record and could have some more time to get his numbers up even higher.
Nasar is one of the up-and-coming talents in powerlifting and has already made an impact at the Youth level. At just 17 years old, Nasar has plenty of room to develop and that is a scary thought for opponents. It will be interesting to see where he goes from here and what lifts are attempted at the next competition.

John Haack Approaches World Record With Easy 400kg Deadlift

John Haack Approaches World Record With Easy 400kg Deadlift

John Haack recently completed the “easiest” 400kg deadlift he ever had.
John Haack has been competing as a powerlifter and this includes putting up huge numbers in training sessions. This is what Haack has been doing in recent months. He seems to be preparing for a massive year in 2022 and it is because of lifts like the one we saw on Monday.
Haack has not been shy about sharing lifts on social media. Recently, it was Instagram that saw Haack load up 400kg (881.9lb) on a barbell and move it with ease. In fact, Haack even said that himself.
“@that_hugeasian_guy : “Do another”I will not, sir.Easiest 400kgs/881lbs has ever felt.”

Andy Huang was in the background to watch this lift and attempt to persuade Haack into performing another rep. Haack stepped up to the barbell with a lifting belt and wrist wraps. The weight came off the ground easily and did not pause at any time. Haack kept perfect form while completing a lift that looked relatively effortless.

Obviously, a lift completed in training cannot count as a world record. This does not take away from the lift and how close it was to the actual record. Haack currently holds the world record in the 90kg division at 402.5kg (887.4lb). He set this mark during the 2021 World Raw Powerlifting Federation The Bucked Up Showdown. Dan Bell currently holds the overall competition deadlift at 410kg (903.9lb), which he set at the 2021 WRPF Hybrid Showdown III.
John Haack has solidified himself as one of the best powerlifters in the 90kg division around the world. During the Bucked Up Showdown, he did something that has never been done before. Haack not only set the deadlift world record but he became the first athlete in the division to total over 1,000kg in a single competition. Haack finished with a total of 1,005.5kg (2,216.8lb). Because of this, there is some talk that Haack could compete as a strongman in the future.
Haack has built up elite strength to put up huge numbers performing deadlifts and squats. There is a chance he could be shooting to compete on a strongman competition series such as the Clash on the Coast series. Haack would be a U90kg or U105kg competitor.
John Haack has already made a name for himself in a big way. Now, he has a chance to continue to put up record-breaking numbers and maybe even venture into a new area of competition. This is what fans have to look forward to with Haack.

WATCH: Larry Wheels Completes Six Reps With 85kg Dumbbells

WATCH: Larry Wheels Completes Six Reps With 85kg Dumbbells

Larry Wheels displayed yet another impressive lift.
It seems as though Larry Wheels is accomplishing a new insane lift each day. That has certainly been the case since he returned from a quad injury back in September. The trend continued on Wednesday as Wheels returned to Instagram to show off his recent triumph.
Wheels decided to hit shoulders hard and completed six reps with an 85kg (187.4lb) dumbbell in each hand. This is the latest feat for what has been a incredible display over the last two months.
“187lb/85kg dumbbell shoulder press! It says 100kg but I weighed it and it’s actually 85kg.Black PR wrist wraps from @teampersonalrecordHUGE Black Friday sale 24-29!”

Larry Wheels explained that the dumbbells were labeled as 100kg but he weighed them to find out they were actually 85kg. This does not diminish the lift given the fact he was able to complete six reps.

Back in September, Wheels suffered a quad injury while performing an insanely heavy squat. He was forced to take some time off but it did not last long. This came one week after he was able to set a personal best with a 950-pound squat. This began what has been a stretch of different personal records being set.
Wheels is no stranger to big shoulder lifts. At the end of October, he set a new PR with 17 reps using 140-pound dumbbells. Other feats include a 585-pound bench press for four reps and a 765-pound deadlift for seven reps, which is another PR.
Larry Wheels has not competed in a sanctioned event since the 2020 Xtreme Powerlifting Coalition (XPC) Arnold. This is a competition where he finished first. Eddie Hall currently holds the world record for shoulder press with a 110kg (242.5lb) lift completed in January of 2020.
It is unknown if Wheels has his eye on any world records in the upcoming months but we do know that he is setting new PR’s daily. This is a trend that he has continued since returning from his injury and has gotten back into full gear when it comes to powerlifting. It is always something to watch when Wheels posts a new lift and he has done so frequently. It will be entertaining to see which life he goes to next.

Yangsu Ren Crushes IPF World Record With 370kg Deadlift In Training

Yangsu Ren Crushes IPF World Record With 370kg Deadlift In Training

Yangsu Ren completes massive deadlift in training.
Yangsu Ren has earned the nickname the “Deadlift Panda” and certainly lived up to it recently. On Monday, Ren shared yet another massive deadlift and this one would have been good enough for a world record.
Ren took to Instagram to show off his recent lift. He completed a 370kg (815.7lb) deadlift using just a lifting belt and deadlift slippers. This raw lift is 7.5kg more than the current IPF raw deadlift world record of 362.5kg (799.1lb).
“Smooth 370kg/816lb deadlift today to test out the @notorious_lift sumo sole gen 2.5 deadlift slippers ? Overall they’re great deadlift shoes that fit all my preferences; minimal flat sole with lateral support. Aside from what I mentioned on Wednesday about them for conventional, my only strike against the new model is the narrower feeling toebox with the redesigned top and sidewall, making my toes feel more cramped compared to the previous gen 2’s. This complaint will probably go away as these break in more and loosen up, but out of the box my favorite is currently still the Gen 2’s. Will provide more feedback as they break in after more sessions ?”

John Haak currently holds the raw deadlift world record in the 83kg division. This was accomplished during the 2019 USPA The Tribute. While Ren’s deadlift is far beyond that of Haak’s world record, it cannot be recognized because it was not completed in a sanctioned event. This means that Ren could have some plans to set a new mark next time he competes.

This is not the first time that Yangsu Ren has tested the waters in this territory. In 2019, Ren completed a 338kg (745lb) and 369.7kg (815lb) lifts just one month apart. He was forced to take some time off that same year to recover from lumbar-induced sciatica. He returned to competition in 2020 and completed 379kg (835lb) deadlift.
Yangsu Ren last competed in 2018 at the USAPL Raw Nationals. He took home a seventh-place finish during this event. He did not compete in 2019 to recover from injury and it looks like he has made significant progress. This is what makes some believe that Ren could put up his biggest numbers once he returns to competition.
It is unknown when that time will be. Yangsu Ren has been sharing his lifts on social media and they are continuing to get bigger and bigger. When he takes on a competition next, it will be a must-watch event.

Omega-3 Supplements & Their Benefits Towards Powerlifters

Omega-3 Supplements & Their Benefits Towards Powerlifters

Taking the top supplements can seriously improve your powerlifting performance.
We as powerlifters are constantly pushing ourselves to the absolute limit and having the right supplements, along with a great training and diet routine, can keep us operating at the highest of levels. While we take those supplements to increase strength and size, as well as boost recovery, too often do we neglect those that can be of great assistance to our overall health and wellness. The more time we spend being healthy, the less time we spend out of the gym, thus giving us the ability to see greater gains.

Maybe you already take a multivitamin. That’s great. Multis are perfect for boosting our overall health and wellness by pumping us with those vital nutrients often missed in our diet. But that only goes so far. Omega-3’s are becoming more and more popular, especially as other sources aside from fish oil are starting to emerge. For a long time, fish oil was the only way to get these great fatty acids, but now, as science and sports supplements begin to improve, the options for more great products only continues.
Let’s take a look at the relationship between powerlifting and omega-3’s and see what makes these supplements so helpful to our powerlifting goals. The right supplements can make all the difference to not just training and performance, but also health and wellness and that should not be ignored.

Benefits Of Omega-3 Supplements
Let’s first talk about the overall benefits of omega-3’s to see what these supplements can do for all our gains. Knowing how these work and what they can do for us is the first step in planting the seed in our mind that omega-3’s may just be the answer we’re looking for.
Some benefits of omega-3’s include:

Fight inflammation by reducing soreness and working to kill any substances linked to inflammation (1).
Increase bone and joint health by reducing pain and working to increase calcium in your bones.
Promote better heart health working to lower blood pressure and decrease plaque development (2).
Enhance eye and brain health by improving the structural components to prevent degradation and boost cognitive function.
Improve immune function to keep you healthier overall and really boost your immune system to fight off foreign illnesses (3).

As you can see, omega-3’s work to help with those physical and cognitive needs, making this supplement a potentially great option for those wanting to increase training, see better performance, improve their health, and promote better wellness.

Different Types Of Omega-3 Supplements
Omega-3 supplements come from a few different sources and we wanted to share a few with you, plus offer up some great products from some of the top supplements companies. The first is fish oil, a popular choice and the most common. Kaged Muscle is a top supplements company and their Omega-3 Fish Oil is a great option for those seeking a fish oil product.

Krill oil is another option and this seems to be a cleaner, more bioavailable form rising in the omega-3 ranks (4). Transparent Labs is an honest and very reputable company with their product RawSeries Krill Oil, only offering the best for transparency and results. Lastly, algal oil is a plant-based source of omega-3’s, making this highly conducive to those following a certain diet. Performance Lab, a premium supplements company, has their Omega-3 designed for optimal absorption and clean benefits for those seeking a vegan option.

Check out our list of the Best Omega-3 Supplements for more great health and wellness products!

Why Powerlifters Should Take Omega-3’s
When it comes down to it, powerlifters are constantly putting their bodies under immense amounts of stress. Our joints tend to feel tight and not as effective after a serious lift or workout. That inflammation can just seem too much at times and it turns into something we absolutely can’t stand. Rolling out with a quality foam roller and stretching is imperative, but why not work with a supplement that can aid in this? A joint supplement is never a bad option if you find the right one, but omega-3’s clearly have those physical benefits that can really assist with your inflammation and joint pain fighting needs for the best help to your physical powerlifting performance.
Staying mentally sharp as well is vital for any athlete, let alone a powerlifter who seeks to compete and see great results. Working with omega-3’s to boost cognitive function and give you the edge when it comes to thinking more clearly with a sharper sense of your surroundings will only prove to be to your benefit in the long run.

Other Great Supplements For Powerlifters
On top of omega-3’s, having a well-rounded supplementation routine can prove to be highly effective moving forward. Looking to build strength and size, as well as overall mass? Look into a protein powder, mass gainer, or creatine supplement, for all will work to pump you with protein, aid in growth, and even assist with recovery (5). For those pre-workout needs, look into a pre-workout supplement, or just find a caffeinated beverage you enjoy. This can give you energy and raise your level of alertness to keep you as engaged as possible. And while you may be wondering where an omega-3 fits into this mix, having that one supplement, or two if you choose a multivitamin, to work towards your health and wellness, will make these others very much worth it.
Wrap Up
Powerlifters have a tough job; lift massive amounts of weight and keep their bodies intact. Like many athletes, this can be daunting and will really start wear on you overtime. But the right supplements can help with this, along with a great training and dietary routine. Working with an omega-3 supplement will be of great assistance to you, for it will provide amazing benefits and work to boost your overall health and wellness goals. Check out some top omega-3’s and see what these can do for all your powerlifting goals today.

Alexis Maher Sets New IPF World Record In 74kg Division With 329kg Deadlift

Alexis Maher Sets New IPF World Record In 74kg Division With 329kg Deadlift

Alexis Maher set a new world record by less than a kilogram.
The 2021 International Powerlifting Federation World Open Championships have just one day left of competition. An event that began on Nov. 8 will wrap up on Saturday after what was a week of exciting events and big-time performances. Alexis Maher was one of the highlights of the show by setting a new IPF equipped world record with a 329kg (729.3lb) deadlift.
Maher stepped up to the barbell wearing a single-ply suit and a lifting belt. He locked in his grip and slowly lifted the weight in the air until he was able to clinch the record. Maher performed the lift with perfect form. The full video can be seen on the IPF Powerlifting Instagram page.
“World Record Deadlift with 329 kg by Alexis Maher ISV in 74 kg class
#ipf #world #deadlift #record#ipfopenworlds@ipfopenworlds2021“

Alexis Maher was able to top a world record that stood for three years. Kjell Egil Bakkelund set the previous mark of 328.5kg (724.2lb) during the 2018 IPF World Open Championships. Maher was able to set a new record by half a kilogram. Maher might have set a new record in IPF but this was not his heaviest deadlift to date.

During the 2021 USA Powerlifting Equipped Nationals, Maher completed a 331kg (729.1lb) deadlift, which was the third-heaviest lift in the division. Maher finished with a gold medal during the event and is continuing to improve from here.
In the 74kg division, Darimin Sahroni holds the all-time world record of 333.5kg (735.2lb). Sergei Gaishinetc is second at 332.5kg (733lb).
Alexis Maher also holds the second heaviest raw deadlift of 347.5kg (766.1lb). This was accomplished during the 2021 United States Powerlifting Association Top of Texas Trifecta. This lift was completed in January and it began quite a year for Maher. It is not over yet as there is still some time left at the World Open Championships.
Maher has become a force in powerlifting and it is because of his big numbers seen performing deadlifts. Heading into 2022, Maher could have a chance to set some new world records and continue to improve his skills. This year has been a breakout for Maher and it will be exciting to see where he goes from here.

Nick Best Crushes A 500-Pound Deadlift For 50 Total Reps At 53 Years Old

Strongman Nick Best completed five sets of 10 reps and made it look easy.
Age, injuries, heavy deadlifts — nothing matters for Nick Best and he showed that in a recent social media post.
The 53-year-old strongman shared a video on Monday to Instagram to display five different videos. In each one, Best stands over 500 pounds and completes a deadlift set of 10 reps. In total, Best completed 50 reps while barefoot and wearing a lifting belt and straps. Not only did Best complete the reps all together, but he made it look easy each time.
“500lb Deadlifts for 50 reps! 5 set of 10 reps at 53! Age is just a number!”

Nick Best is coming off an injury he suffered during the 2021 Kern Open. Best attempted what would have been a world record deadlift of 370kg (815.7lb) and suffered a torn tendon in his left lat. Best was competing in the Masters Over 50 division at the event and ended up placing third. It is not surprising to see Best recover as quickly as he did and get back to lifting heavy weight.

Since making his debut in 1991, Best has been a big name in powerlifting. He earned a gold medal during his first competition at the 1991 United States Powerlifting Federation. He has appeared in a total of 27 sanctioned meets and has 17 victories. This includes a win at the 1996 World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation World Championships. In over three decades, Best has only missed the podium five times.

Best has competed at the World’s Strongest Man competition 10 times. His highest finish came in 2010 when he placed sixth overall. He also has two second-place finishes at the Giants Live Australia and a bronze medal at the 2007 America’ Strongest Man competition.
This incredible set of deadlifts is not the first time Best has used social media to update on his strength.
“425lb Bench Press and 25 Dips were 2 of the highlights from today’s Chest and Triceps workout! The triceps are really starting to fire again. Next goal is 450lbs by the end of December! Keep working back methodically! Patients is the key!”

Nick Best has been determined through his rehab process from injury and now is on to moving some big weight again. It is only a matter of time before he takes home another victory in competition.

In his caption, Wheels claims this is the best workout to develop a huge back. In the video, Wheels is seen moving the large weight up to his stomach and returning it to the floor at a rapid pace. He is making the lift look easy despite the incredible amount of weight.
“485lbs/220kg rows for reps develop a huge thick back.@ulissesworld@teampersonalrecord for the straps I’m using!”

Larry Wheels has been putting up some huge numbers in the gym. Just a week ago, he set a new PR with a 140lb shoulder press for 17 reps. He has also shown big numbers performing an overhead press. Wheels is also known for his massive squats.

In September, Wheels set a new personal best with a 950lb squat. This came one week before he suffered a quad injury performing the same lift. Wheels was seen dropping the huge weight off his back after his quad seemed to pop. This forced him to take some time off but he quickly returning to the gym.
Wheels has been putting up some huge numbers because of his work as a powerlifter but has also dabbled in the sport of arm wrestling. This was a venture that did not last long but Wheels had some big-time matchups against the likes of Schoolboy. While Wheels has made his return to powerlifting, he plans to compete in arm wrestling once again.
Larry Wheels announced he will be taking on powerlifter Brandon Allen in an arm-wrestling match. This will take place on CoreSports.world in December. Wheels will not be the only high-profile athlete appearing at the event as both Hafthor Bjornsson and Devon Larratt will be present.
This is a chance for Wheels to compete against an athlete who has a similar background. This will be an exciting match because of the preparation done by the two competitors. There is a chance that this is an even match that makes for some must-see action.
One thing we do know is that Larry Wheels is known for his trend of setting different personal records in the gym. That has continued recently and he is continuing to share some workouts to build up different body parts.
