74-YO Rudy Kadlub Makes Easy Work Of a 441-lb Squat Three-Rep PR
Rudy Kadlub is one of the most respected athletes in the powerlifting scene, both due to his feats of strength as well as how dedicated he is to the sport. Rudy, at the age of 74, stands as one of the older athletes participating in professional competitions. However, judging by the fact that he is frequently improving, it looks like Rudy is aging like fine wine. Most recently, Rudy set a new three-rep squat PR by lifting 441 pounds (200 kilograms) in training.
Rudy Kadlub did not perform the squat in a raw manner, since he utilized knee wraps to aid him in the lift. However, powerlifting has a division dedicated to performing squats with knee wraps. So, it does not take away from how impressive Rudy’s lift was.
Usually people struggle to set a new PR, but Rudy Kadlub made easy work of his 441-pound (200-kilogram) three-rep personal record. All three repetitions looked extremely easy, which gives hope that Rudy will put up a sensational performance in his next appearance.

As Rudy Kadlub states, his recent 441-pound (200-kilogram) three rep squat was just 11 pounds (5 kilograms) lighter than his current World Record Squat. In addition, he revealed that he will compete at the 2023 USPA Nationals, which will take place on July 10-14, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Just 11lbs under my current WR. 3.5 weeks out from USPA Nationals”
Ever since he turned 74-years-old, Rudy Kadlub has been setting PRs in almost all events. As per tradition, he performed heavy deadlift training for his birthday. It resulted in a two-rep raw deadlift PR of 524 pounds (237.7 pounds), after which Rudy set his sights on the 2023 USPA Nationals. So, with some new PRs under his belt, Rudy is hoping to put up his greatest performance yet.
Rudy Kadlub has been competing for 17 years during which he took part in 40 sanctioned competitions. In addition, he won 34 competitions and set countless records, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest to ever compete in the sport.

Analyze Lifts
The only department in which Rudy Kadlub is slightly underperforming is the bench press and that is only because he has not yet healed properly from an injury. However, he is obviously making it up on the deadlifts and squats, as he continues setting PRs with ease. Rudy will become even stronger in the three weeks leading up to the 2023 USPA Nationals. So, he will hopefully be in peak shape to set some more World Records.

16-YO Morgan Nicholls Scores Huge 525-lb (238.1-kg) Raw Bench Press PR In Training
The young prodigy, Morgan Nicholls, got recognized as one of the strongest teenagers in the world during the past years, and he continues to cement his status at 16-years-old. Morgan is extremely versatile which allows him to train American Football and push the limits in the gym. So, most recently, he scored a brand new personal record (PR) in the bench press event having lifted 525 pounds (238.1 kilograms). Morgan accomplished this astonishing feat during a training session.
The video of Morgan Nicholls’ 525-pound (238.1-kilogram) was shared by his father, the legendary Chad Nicholls. Chad is one of the greatest bodybuilding coaches in history, having worked with Ronnie Coleman, Big Ramy, William Bonac, and other elite athletes as well. He was also largely impressed by his son’s bench press which he performed with just a pair of wrist wraps.
“kid is just a working machine and it is very impressive to see him balance training, and all of his football work together – pushing speed, fast twitch, and power all together to do that you have to be very dedicated. – Very proud of him.” wrote Chad.

Morgan Nicholls suffered an ACL tear near the end of last year and underwent surgery on January 6th. Luckily, his recovery was very successful, so he is now able to chase more PRs in the gym and other types of success in American Football.
Apart from his new 525-pound (238.1-kilogram) bench press PR, Morgan Nicholls has done impressive numbers in other events as well. According to him, his heaviest squat to date is 545 pounds (247.2 kilograms), while his deadlift PR is 635 pounds (288 kilograms).
Despite his impressive abilities in lifting heavy weights, Morgan Nicholls does not seem interested in competing in powerlifting. He has, however, taken part in one competition to test the waters and was very successful. He competed in the 2020 SPF GP Summer Smash, where he was only 13-years-old. Despite the young age, Morgan managed to lock out some surreal numbers.
Squat (wraps): 204.1 kilograms (450 pounds)
Bench Press (Raw): 147.4 kilograms (325 pounds)
Deadlift (Raw): 206.3 kilograms (455 pounds)
Total (Raw W/Wraps): 557.9 kilograms (1,230 pounds)

Powerlifting features a 16-17 Years Old age division and the current All-Time World Record for the bench press stands at 501.5 pounds (227.5 kilograms. So, if Morgan Nicholls did cross over to powerlifting once more, it looks like he would set a new World Record with ease. This just proves how impressive his 525-pound (238.1-kilogram) bench PR actually is. In addition, there is no doubt that Morgan will add a few more pounds to the barbell in the near future.

Powerlifter Jesus Olivares Smashes 435-kg (960-lb) Raw Squat Two-Rep PR In Training
The biggest hype in powerlifting is currently revolving around Jesus Olivares, as he is the reigning 2x IPF World Champion and will try to defend his title in just one week from now. So, everyone is unsurprisingly eager to find out how prepared Jesus is for the 2023 IPF World Championships. On his Instagram page, he often shares updates, and the most recent one showed him setting a new record. This PR turned out to be a humongous 435-kilogram (960-pound) two-rep squat.
Jesus Olivares believes that strength is determined by how much weight a person can lift with as little equipment support as possible. So, he completed the 435-kilogram (960-pound) two-rep squat in a raw manner, utilizing only a lifting belt and knee sleeves to aid him in the lift.
Jesus Olivares did not have too much trouble locking out either of the reps with 435 kilograms (960 pounds), especially considering just how heavy the squat was. In addition, Jesus captioned the video with “Still Hungry“, hinting that he still wants to lift even heavier.

Related: Powerlifter Jesus Olivares Sets New Deadlift & Total IPF World Records At 2023 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships
Jesus Olivares recently took part in the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships where he displayed his greatest shape yet. He set two new IPF World Records in the Deadlift and Total events. However, he is now attempting to break the Squat World Record as well. The current record is held by Ray Williams who locked out 490 kilograms (1,080.3 pounds). On the other hand, Jesus’ heaviest squat in a competition came out to 470 kilograms (1,036.1 pounds). So, having now improved his two-rep PR, it is clear that he is capable of squatting more in his one rep max.
During Jesus’ Olivares’ career so far he has taken part in 20 sanctioned powerlifting competitions and won 11 of them. In addition, he earned the title of the strongest raw powerlifter in the world, all while being natural contrary to many other athletes who use PEDs.

Jesus Olivares already has the joint second heaviest raw squat of all time, as Jezza Uepa has lifted as much as him. However, Jesus wants to be the greatest of all time which is the reason for his recent squat improvement. Within a few days, we will see just how close he can get to the world record. Jesus is pumped up for the 2023 IPF World Championships and hopes to put up the greatest performance in the history of powerlifting.

Strongman Sean Logan Sets 455-kg (1,003-lb) Deadlift PR at 2023 NZ Log & Deadlift Championships
A deadlift is arguably the most universal exercise for determining strength, as it is used in all disciplines, including Strongman, Powerlifting, CrossFit, Bodybuilding, as well as among everyday gym goers. So, it takes a lot of effort and sacrifice to become one of the greatest deadlifters in the world, but Sean Logan is one of the few that made it to the top. Sean is recognized for his stationary strength, most notably the deadlift. Having said that, he has just achieved a huge achievement, having set a new 1,003-pound (455-kilogram) deadlift personal record (PR).
Sean Logan set the 1,003-pound (455-kilogram) deadlift PR at the 2023 New Zealand Log and Deadlift Championships. In addition, Sean shared video footage of all six attempts on his Instagram page.
Judging by how Sean Logan approached the barbell, it seems that he used a deadlift suit. His other pieces of equipment were a lifting belt and lifting straps. Sean also warmed up with 425 kilograms (937 pounds) for his first attempt.
“Super pumped that I’ve finally made the 1000lb club I’ve knocked on the door multiple times only to miss out ?”
Watch the lift here:

After setting a new deadlift PR, Sean Logan also attempted to lift 480 kilograms (1,058.2 pounds). Even though he was not successful, the fact that he was able to lift the massive weight from the ground indicates that he will be able to lock it out in the future.
Sean Logan also competed in the other portion of the competition, the Log Lift. Due to a shoulder injury he sustained some time back, Sean wasn’t able to perform as expected. Sean’s heaviest successful attempt came out to 150 kilograms (330.7 pounds).
Sean Logan’s Full Performance
Deadlift
425 kilograms (937 pounds)
455 kilograms (1,003 pounds) — Personal Record
Unsuccessful — 480 kilograms (1,058.2 pounds)
Log Lift
140 kilograms (308.6 pounds)
150 kilograms (330.7 pounds)
Unsuccessful — 160 kilograms (352.7 pounds)
During his Strongman career, Sean Logan’s greatest success was winning the 2018 England’s Strongest Man competition. However, he is mostly known for his deadlift. Now that Sean resides in New Zealand, he also holds the country’s record for the heaviest deadlift.
Sean Logan recently also took part in a powerlifting competition for the first time and walked away with some massive lifts. His 410-kilogram (903.9-pound) Squat W/Wraps and 405-kilogram (892.9-pound) Raw Deadlift proved that he has major potential in powerlifting as well.
Watch all of Sean Logan’s lifts here:
Related: Lewis Byng Sets a 411-kg (906.1-lb) U23 Strongman Deadlift World Record
Having set the new Heaviest Deadlift In New Zealand, Sean Logan will now continue climbing the ranks of deadlift leaderboards. If he makes some additional improvements, Sean will be a World Record contender in no time at all. It seems reasonable to expect him to achieve this outcome, especially since he is able to deadlift even more than 455 kilograms (1,003 pounds) at the moment.

Powerlifter Sophia Ellis Scores 235-kg (518.1-lb) Raw Deadlift Two-Rep PR
Sophia Ellis is ready to represent Great Britain in the biggest competitions this year, as her strength keeps ramping up with each passing week. Her deadlift, which was already impressive, has seen significant improvement in the last few days. This is confirmed by her recent 235-kilogram (518.1-pound) deadlift two-rep personal record from training. Ecstatic for setting a new PR, Sophia Ellis decided to share the feat with her Instagram followers.
Sophia Ellis opted for a sumo stance as she has absolutely perfected it through years of practice. In addition, besides a lifting belt and some chalk, Sophia did not use any other equipment, making her new 235-kilogram (518.1-pound) deadlift two rep PR raw as well. Both reps looked very smooth, with the only seemingly difficult moment being the lockout of the second rep.
This is not the first time that Sophia Ellis has attempted to perform two reps with 235 kilograms (518.1 pounds), since she had a failed attempt just a few months ago. However, she has now finally locked it out and stated that she feels stronger than ever.
“Honestly so psyched about this. I attempted this weight for a double going into the British a few months ago and failed it…so to hit it this time around feels so good. Slightly messed up the second rep from the start but it’s a win nevertheless. Feeling the strongest I’ve ever been right now and there’s more to come ?”

Related: Powerlifter Sophia Ellis (76KG) Sets a 240-kg (529.1-lb) Raw Deadlift European & British Record at 2022 Arnold UK
Sophia Ellis is preparing for arguably the biggest competition of her career yet. She is planning to compete at the 2023 IPF World Classic Open Powerlifting Championships, which will take place from June 11-18, 2023, in Valletta, Malta. Although she has already competed in two previous editions of this competition, Sophia is now more prepared than ever to battle for the podium.
Sophia Ellis has already won a major title last year at the 2022 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships in the 76-kilogram weight class. Moreover, if she still weighs around 76 kilograms (167.6 pounds) then her recent deadlift two-rep PR was 3.1x her bodyweight.
It is clear that Sophia Ellis is just now entering her prime, as she is capable of breaking records and winning major competitions. Over the course of the five years that she has competed professionally, Sophia has taken part in 29 sanctioned competitions and won 14 of them. In addition, she currently holds the u76KG European Raw Deadlift Record of 240.5 kilograms (530.2 pounds) which she set at the same EPF European Championships last year.

Only four weeks remain until the 2023 IPF World’s and Sophia Ellis already looks like a realistic podium contender. However, until the competition comes, Sophia will continue to pursue some more PRs fueled by her massive 235-kilogram (518.1-pound) deadlift for two reps.

Hunter Labrada Scores New 585-lb (265.3-kg) Deadlift PR for 4 Reps in Contest Prep for 2023 Tampa Pro
American bodybuilder Hunter Labrada is determined to earn an invite to the Mr. Olympia competition after dropping out of the top six at the last event. In a recent post made on Instagram, Labrada shared a new PR (personal record) on the 585-pound (265.3-kg) deadlift for four reps.
Hunter Labrada, son of IFBB Hall of Famer Lee Labrada, joined the ranks of the Men’s Open division as a legacy competitor with a lot of hype. He displayed a huge physique with impressive muscle mass, size, and posing abilities that won him his IFBB Pro debut show, the 2020 Tampa Pro. He finished the season with an eight-place finish in his maiden Mr. Olympia participation.
Labrada scored gold at the 2021 Chicago Pro before improving his standing to fourth place at the 2021 Mr. Olympia. His rivalry with fellow Open standout Nick Walker became one of the main talking points as Walker slotted in fifth behind him in a close-fought contest. Last year, Labrada missed the mark at the 2022 Mr. Olympia. He came in a bit watery and settled with a seventh-place finish, meaning he’d need to qualify for the next edition of the show since only the top five get an automatic qualification. Meanwhile, Walker placed third.
Hunter modified his training and diet program after the disappointing result. He offered a jacked off-season physique update where he weighed 280 pounds fasted three months ago. Then, he opened up on his ambitions to figure out his peak for contests, which he understands will take a calculated effort.
Hunter Labrada via Instagram
The 31-year-old aims to bring a high level of conditioning, similar to his father Lee. He believes trimming down his midsection would enhance his aesthetic quality and get him closer to his goal. With these ambitions on his mind, Hunter has been practicing vacuum poses which are effective for midsection control, especially when posing on stage.
Aside from training and goals for this year, Hunter Labrada detailed his full day of eating in the current off-season. He also detailed the supplements he used to improve his physique before returning to competition. Then, the Open star smashed a heavy off-season lower-body training session days later.
Labrada gave fans a look into his preparations for guest posing appearances at the Emerald Cup and the Pittsburgh Pro last month. He showed off his bulked-up physique where he weighed 283 pounds fasted. About two weeks later, Labrada provided some of his best tips for building muscle on weaker calves. He encouraged training the muscle group to failure and said not to complicate things.
Hunter Labrada scores new PR of 585-lb deadlift for 4 reps
In a recent Instagram post, Hunter Labrada shared that he set a new PR of a 585-lb deadlift for four reps in a 2023 training session.
Labrada used a lifting belt and wrist straps with no shoes for the lift. He performed the set at a consistent pace with proper form for the first three reps. He struggled slightly on the final rep but managed to pull it off.
“Pretty stoked on this! This was a lifetime PR for me,” wrote Labrada. “Seeing these translate in my physique and progressing them in the gym has been fun, and that’s what it’s all about!
585 x 4.”

As of late, Labrada left fans stunned with a shredded physique update weeks out from the 2023 Tampa Pro. He tipped the scales at a lean 277.6 pounds and gave his opinion on exercise selection.
Labrada turned in a strong performance at the 2023 Pittsburgh Pro guest-posing appearance earlier this month. Based on the latest update, it’s evident why he’s brimming with confidence going into the upcoming Tampa Pro and Texas Pro.

Powerlifter Pablo Olivares Sets 400-kg (881.8 lb) Raw Squat PR In Training
One of the most popular athletes in powerlifting currently is Jesus Olivares, but what many don’t know is that he has a younger, but almost equally impressive brother, Pablo Olivares. Pablo is 23-years-old and resembles his brother quite a bit. Like Jesus, Pablo possesses incredible squat strength and he has just reached a massive milestone. During his recent training session, Pablo worked up to a 400-kilogram (881.8-pound) squat, which is a new personal record (PR) for him. He caught the achievement on camera and shared it on his Instagram.
Pablo Olivares only used a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps. All of these are utilized to prevent injuries without affecting the lifting abilities in any significant way. So, Pablo’s new 400-kilogram (881.8-pound) PR is also raw.
Pablo Olivares exhibited no signs of struggle during the lift, making the new PR appear effortless. Moreover, he was very proud of his achievement, so he couldn’t contain his excitement. He let out a few loud screams and spat out his mouth guard.
Watch the lift here:

Pablo Olivares impressed quite a few people with his new 400-kilogram (881.8-pound) squat PR, including two powerlifting World Record holders. First of the two was his brother, Jesus Olivares, who stood behind Pablo as a spotter. Despite his adoration for his brother, his reaction shows he was awed by his strength as well.
The other World Record holder who was impressed by Pablo Olivares was Ashton Rouska. Ashton is particularly known for his squat prowess, so a compliment from him goes a long way. He left a comment under Pablo’s post, saying:
“Too damn easy!!”
Pablo Olivares replied to Ashton explaining how his next goal is squatting 410 kilograms (903 pounds).
Pablo Olivares’ Powerlifting Career
Pablo Olivares has been competing in powerlifting since 2015 when he was just 15-years-old. In addition, during these eight years of competing, Pablo has consistently improved. If this trend continues in the next one or two years, then he will become a Squat World Record contender.
Overall, Pablo Olivares has taken part in 12 sanctioned competitions and won just four of them. However, all of his wins have come in the past two years, which proves that he is just now fulfilling his potential.
Pablo Olivares’ Competition PRs

Pablo Olivares has already set his sights on some heavier weights, as he hopes to eventually lift over 422 kilograms (930 pounds) by the end of the year. Pablo is making great progress, so he may be able to lock out even more weight within a few months. So, it remains to be seen what Pablo’s limits are.

Powerlifter Samantha Eugenie Crushes a 200-kg (440.9-lb) Raw Squat PR In Training
At the age of 20, Samantha Eugenie is an international powerlifting sensation due to her tremendous strength. Although her greatest event is the deadlift, Samantha is no stranger to putting up some incredible numbers in other lifts as well. Most notably, her deadlift prowess excellently transfers to the squat and she just reached a new milestone. So, Samantha shared the video of her new 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) squat personal record (PR) on her Instagram page.
Landing a new PR is a humongous achievement, but the fact is that it is the first time that Samantha Eugenie crossed the 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) mark for the first time in her career. Moreover, Samantha completed the squat PR in a raw manner, having only used a lifting belt and knee sleeves.
Samantha Eugenie also revealed that her bodyweight at the time of her new squat PR was 69 kilograms (152.1 pounds). So, her 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) squat came out to 2.9x her bodyweight. In addition, Samantha also competes in the 69-kilogram weight class, which means that this is natural for her.
“I know it’s not perfect, I was so scared but I’m proud of myself because it’s a big step for me”

Samantha Eugenie’s next goal is to train until the 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) squat becomes a weight which she is capable of achieving without too much struggle. She revealed this goal in the caption of her post as well.
“Now I just have to work even harder to make sure that this load is 100% acquired”
It is not clear what competition Samantha Eugenie is preparing for currently, but she has given some hints about it. After taking part in the 2023 FFForce French Nationals, Samantha revealed that she is preparing for a competition in September. So, she has a defined goal and her program is obviously going well, having scored a new Squat PR four months beforehand.
Despite being only 20-years-old, Samantha Eugenie has already accumulated 5 years of experience in powerlifting. During this time, she has taken part in 12 sanctioned competitions and won nine of them. One of which is the 2022 IPF World Junior Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Just one month ago, Samantha Eugenie landed a 185-kilogram (407.9-pound) squat for a new Competition PR. In the four weeks since then, Samantha has managed to improve her squat by 15 kilograms (33.1 pounds), which is an incredible improvement. This proves that she is serious about securing some more titles and World Records very soon.

Powerlifter Shane Hunt Smashes Massive 926-lb Deadlift Three-Rep PR
Shane Hunt is a highly regarded athlete who is commonly recognized for his strength and sheer size. Even after acknowledging his humongous lifts, many still can’t fathom what an impressive specimen he actually is. However, he continues to improve on every aspect of his physical shape. So, most recently, Shane achieved a 926-pound deadlift three-rep personal record (PR). Afterward, he posted about his latest success on Instagram.
Upon loading the 926 pounds onto the barbell and getting ready to lift it, a crowd of people gathered around Shane Hunt to witness his mind-blowing deadlift. However, after putting his headphones on, Shane turned his focus to the task ahead of him.
Shane Hunt got comfortable in a sumo stance and wrapped his lifting straps around the bar. When he began deadlifting the 926 pounds, he made all three repetitions appear effortless.
Seeing that Shane Hunt used lifting straps to achieve the lift, it would not count in a powerlifting competition. However, that still doesn’t undermine the fact that this is the heaviest that he has ever managed to perform three reps with.

Currently, Shane Hunt is preparing for his next appearance, which is not far off. Despite the fact that the competition in which he intends to compete is currently unnamed, he has revealed that it will take place within about eight weeks. This comes as a surprise, since Shane has competed just a few weeks ago as well.
Shane Hunt seems to be particularly active compared to the past few years. We are just five months into 2023, but he has already taken part in the 2023 Ghost Clash 2 and 2023 Pioneer On The Beach. However, this proves that Shane is hopeful of breaking some records and ready to do everything in his power for this feat.
A decade in the making, Shane Hunt’s resume is now filled with incredible achievements. He has taken part in 16 sanctioned powerlifting competitions and won 12 of them. Moreover, he is regarded as one of the greatest deadlifters in history.
Shane Hunt’s Competition PRs
Squat: 360 kilograms (793.6 pounds) — (2022 USPA Pro Raw Championships)

72-YO Powerlifter Shelly Stettner Scores New Raw 265-lb Squat & 155-lb Bench Press All-Time PRs
Among the greatest Masters powerlifters in the world, Shelly Stettner founded the belief that no one is ever too old to become the best in what they want. Now, she is once again continuing to prove her statements, having just landed new squat and bench press Personal Records (PRs) at the age of 72-years-old. In addition, Shelly shared both of her new achievements on Instagram.
The first PR that Shelly Stettner locked out was the squat of 265 pounds (120.2 kilograms). She did so by putting on a pair of knee sleeves and a lifting belt, dropping under the barbell, and easily squatting 265 pounds (120.2 kilograms).
Shelly Stettner then scored another personal record on the bench press. After a few warm-up sets, Shelly ramped up to a 155-pound (70.3-kilogram) bench, the heaviest she has ever lifted. Although it did not look as easy as her squat PR, the bench press still looked quite comfortable for Shelly.
