Ramon Rocha Queiroz Says Chris Bumstead Is “Going To Get Surprised” At The 2022 Olympia
Ramon Rocha Queiroz believes he can compete with the three-time champion.
The Classic Physique division is growing year by year and it is because of the level of competition that keeps emerging. Chris Bumstead is the reigning three-time Olympia champion and one of the biggest stars in the sport. Bumstead believes he is destined for his fourth title but Ramon Rocha Queiroz has other plans.
Bumstead took the Olympia title away from Breon Ansley in 2019 and has not relinquished it since. Over the last three years, Bumstead has taken his brand to the next level and created something special. Queiroz is one of the fastest rising stars in the division and showed it off during recent competitions.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has referred to Classic Physique as “the future of bodybuilding.” This is because the preparation is different than Men’s Open. If the competition continues at this pace, Schwarzenegger might be right and that will show during the Olympia.

Ramon Rocha Queiroz Plans To “Surprise” Chris Bumstead
On a recent episode of OlympiaTV, Ramon Rocha Queiroz spoke on Bumstead’s comments that competitors are fighting for second place. Terrick El Guindy translated the statement from Queiroz that responded directly to the champ.
“Ramon said he disagreed with Chris Bumstead’s statement that all these guys are fighting for second, and he’s going to get surprised at the Mr. Olympia.
I’ve always been extremely strong with my arms, and that’s why my arms over developed, but right now he’s being a little more conscious of hitting the proper body parts.”
Terrence Ruffin is the reigning two-time Arnold Classic champion and has solidified himself as the No. 2 behind Bumstead over the last few years. This comes after Ansley reigned in the division, winning the Olympia two times. Queiroz is one of the up-and-coming talents in the division, along with Urs Kalecinski.
“The Classic Physique is still very volatile, and no one in that lineup can even win a show now besides us three. So even myself, you know, has to focus on yourself and stay on your game,” Terrence Ruffin said.
The 2022 Olympia will once again be an entertaining show in the Classic Physique division Ramon Rocha Queiroz has a strong physique and will be looking to surprise the field and upset Chris Bumstead.

2022 Arnold Classic Analysis: Terrence Ruffin Vs Ramon Rocha Queiroz Battle For First
Terrence Ruffin stays strong front and center as Ramon Rocha Queiroz seemingly edges out Breon Ansley at the 2022 Arnold Classic pre-judging.
Friday afternoon held the day one pre-judging at the 2022 Arnold Classic, with the Classic Physique division taking center stage of the group. This year’s lineup was certainly stacked – with many pointing out that the roster included basically all top tier athletes from the Olympia minus Chris Bumstead. Many were excited to see how top competitors Terrence Ruffin and Breon Ansley would compare. Others were excited for relative newcomers and rising stars Urs Kalecinski and Ramon Rocha Queiroz. Ultimately, the Classic Physique comparison round ended with a strong face-off between returning champ Terrence Ruffin and Ramon Rocha Queiroz.
In what might come as a surprise to longtime fans fo the Arnold Classic, the pre-judging round for Classic Physique was relatively short. In total there were only three callouts. And most notably, the final callout did not involve any shifting of athletes. Each competitor stayed in their exact spot as they were originally called out.
Typically, head judge Steve Weinberger likes to keep both the athletes and the audience off balance by swapping competitors around. He also often will push the final callout with multiple posing rounds. This time he kept it short and sweet.
So what does that tell us? Perhaps that the judges feel confident in who will be landing in the top positions. Terrence Ruffin and Ramon Rocha Queiroz stood squarely in the center of the four person callout. While that leaves no room for a direct center athlete – it’s clear that these two were battling for first place. Ruffin in particular looked to be the absolute standout.
2022 Arnold Classic Pre-Judging: The Top 4 Standout Competitors
The final callout also seemed to match up with how the individual posing rounds were perceived. Terrence Ruffin was the first to pose – setting the standard that all other competitors needed to match up towards. Ruffin is the returning champion, so there was already some weight behind him starting first with posing routines. In addition to this, the moment he stepped on stage, he showcased an incredible package.
Urs Kalecinski also turned some heads upon stepping onto the stage for his posing routine. Urs has been gaining a lot of hype due to his physique updates on social media leading into the show. He’s a relative newcomer – but he did not disappoint. At first, it seemed that he would perhaps be impressive enough to land a first place spot. Though the final callouts seem to indicate he might be pushed down somewhere closer to third or fourth.
Ramon Rocha Queiroz, on the other hand, seemed to bring a wonderful package but one that was falling a little short. Originally, upon his individual routine, we had him placed closer to the bottom fo the top 5 pack. All of that changed upon seeing him standing next to his fellow competitors. Not only did he stand out among the other athletes on stage – he was placed by the judges right in the middle next to Terrence Ruffin. He was also never moved from that spot – despite being put through two complete rounds of posing.
Breon Ansley continues to bring a solid physique. Upon seeing his individual posing routine, we could see him easily landing a second place spot. But there is a world of difference between individual rounds and the comparison rounds. Ramon, perhaps using his height to his advantage, kept drawing eyes closer to his overall package in the final callout.
That being said, a lot can change in the six or so hours between the pre-judging and the finals. Each of these competitors will reflect on the callouts, review video if possible, and determine how they can improve ever so slightly to change the outcome of the final results. All four of these competitors have a chance to re-arrange what we saw in the final callout this afternoon.
One competitor that we see staying in place is Terrence Ruffin. Unless he makes some sort of fatal mistake leading into the finals, he brought a near perfect package. We predict that he will land the first place spot and the rest will battle for second. While Ramon Rocha Queiroz seems a shoe-in currently for second, we can see a scenario where Breon Ansley creeps up above him to grab that second place spot.
Only time will tell – and Generation Iron will continue to provide updates, analysis, and result updates later tonight when we return for the 2022 Arnold Classic finals!
Ramon Rocha Queiroz Shares Physique Update Ahead Of 2022 Arnold Classic
Ramon Rocha Queiroz will look to take the next step in 2022.
The 2022 Arnold Classic is just weeks away at this point and all competitors are beginning to put the finishing touches on their plans. This includes Ramon Rocha Queiroz, also known as Ramon Dino. He is looking to make a huge impact in the Classic Physique division in 2022 and it could begin at this event in March.
Queiroz is one of the younger competitors at 26 years old but that does not mean he is lacking. Ramon Dino shared a recent physique update as he prepares for the Arnold Classic and he is looking shredded after an offseason of preparation.
Ramon Rocha Queiroz shared a post to Instagram with a caption that was written in Spanish. He showcased a video of his well-rounded physique to this point.
“Another journey into action, dedication increases and naturally the desire to make mistakes ceases to exist! Up Brazil.”
Ramon Rocha Queiroz continues to improve each and every competition. He earned his Pro Card in 2018 after winning the Mr. Olympia Amateur Brazil. Queiroz did not enter a professional competition right away. He waited until last season during the 2021 Europa Pro. Queiroz placed second in Classic Physique during this show and put his name on the map.
Ramon Dino earned an invitation to the 2021 Olympia and continued to perform well. He finished fifth in Classic Physique, which is no easy task in an athlete’s first Olympia appearance. Now, Queiroz will have a chance to see how he stacks up against three other top-five finishers from the Olympia.
Chris Bumstead will not compete at the Arnold Classic as he prepares to potentially make it four consecutive Olympia victories in December. The rest of the top five from 2021 will be on display. Terrence Ruffin is the reigning Arnold Classic champion and runner-up to Bumstead at the Olympia. He will defend his title against a stacked field. Breon Ansley and Urs Kalecinski will also be present in Columbus.
Ramon Rocha Queiroz is a rising star in bodybuilding and a strong performance at the Arnold Classic will only solidify this. He will have a chance to see how he compares to other greats in the division as we enter the 2022 season.
